@Target macros seem to have been fixed, preventing players from automatically targeting players or enemies with reticle-based spells.
@Target Macros Fixed
With Patch 9.2.5, players found a way to use macros to
automatically target reticle based spells
without having to worry about your mouse cursor. While this was great for accessibility purposes, it did have some negative side effects, especially in PvP where players could easily and accurately land important spells like
冰冻陷阱
to keep a CC chain going without even having to look. It also allows players to pixel stack which would be dangerous for certain mechanics on the PvE side, such as the
last boss of Halls of Atonement
.
The previous macro now self-casts when holding down the modifier key.
Now, when you use the
previous macro
, it casts the ability centered on yourself similar to a @player condition -- likely as intended when you're holding down the "self-cast" key.
While this needed to be fixed because it was unintended, do you think Blizzard should look into a way for reticle spells to have this functionality in the future?
History
While Patch 9.2.5 added this functionality to macros, players have been able to use the functionality of @target through other workaround methods since the start of Shadowlands in Patch 9.0. However, with this hotfix, it looks like all of these other methods have also been fixed and the self-cast modifier takes priority.
