Legacy raid tuning is one of the features of Patch 9.1.5, which includes some nerfs to encounters in Mythic Tomb of Sargeras. Mythic
堕落的化身
has been massively nerfed in this Patch!
Edit: The KJ nerf has been found.
Solo Mythic Fallen Avatar Nerfs in Patch 9.1.5
Mythic Fallen Avatar has been one of the hardest bosses to solo because it essentially requires very high DPS to kill him before you run out of room. However, in Patch 9.1.5, a nerf gives you plenty of time to kill the boss!
The nerf is:
Purple beams no longer grant energy to the Fallen Avatar.
This may not seem like a big deal at first glance, but this means that only the green beam can grant energy and this beam can be blocked while solo! By blocking the green beam at all times with the Maiden, you get plenty of time to correctly finish Phase 1. The strategy boils down the following now:
Make sure the Maiden is in the green beam at all times. Focus the boss.
The boss will transition when the boss reaches 20% health or the boss' energy reaches max. When this happens, the Maiden needs to be dead as the Fallen Avatar will gain health based on the amount of health the Maiden has remaining.
As the bosses' health gets lower, or his energy gets higher, make sure to start focusing the Maiden to get a clean transition.
The last phase is still a DPS race as you realistically only get two DPS platforms before you die to the lava, but you should be much closer to 20% assuming you did Phase 1 correctly which makes the Phase 2 DPS check significantly lower.
The change to Fallen Avatar gives you over 5 minutes in Phase 1 when done correctly. Plenty of time to get him to 20% and make the last phase much easier. Overall a great change for the boss!
Mythic Kil'jaeden Nerf
The Mythic Kil'jaeden nerf makes the Dark Phase slightly easier:
Shadowsoul's
不稳定的暗影之魂
cast time increased to 20 seconds (was 8 seconds).
This change makes the Dark Phase much easier as you don't have to constantly fumble in the Darkness to find the Shadowsouls as they keep teleporting around. They'll stay in the same spots for much longer.
We've seen many comments in the community that Mythic Kil'jaeden is impossible to solo and this isn't true. The DPS check is less than that of the old Fallen Avatar, even before the Patch. The thing that people seem to get hung up on is the Dark Phase, saying that it's RNG or that they need to find Illidan quickly for fear of getting knocked off, but this phase iss made even easier by the Patch.
Here are some tips to clear Mythic Kil'jaeden's Dark Phase:
The knockback orbs spawn in sets of two, rotating clockwise in a set pattern:
South East
South West
BREAK
North West
North East
BREAK & Repeat
Spells bypass the the hit penalty from the Darkness debuff. Walk into melee range of any of the adds and you'll be able to hit it with spells. For melee attacks, you'll need to still find Illidan in order to connect.
If you face your camera almost to the ground, you can see things under the darkness.
See under the darkness.
Ending the Phase is
NOT
a DPS race. You can take as much time in this phase as you need, just don't get knocked off. Use the breaks in between the sets of orbs to find any adds, but prioritize your survivability for the next sets of orbs. Get to the next corner in time, even if you're sitting there waiting.
