Mythic+ Changes in Dragonflight - Dratnos and Tettles Discuss
Dragonflight Mythic Plus is finally being tested on the Beta, and this week's GG WoW video dives into the discoveries made during testing as well as the philosophy changes that Blizzard have revealed in a
recent Blue Post
This post explains the thought process behind the new Seasonal Dungeon Rotations, including bringing back older dungeons, which began with Shadowlands Season 4 and is continuing into Dragonflight. It also lays out some new objectives like keeping the level of effort required to get the best rewards consistent between seasons, something that hasn't always been true in the past. There's also some discussion of the role of seasonal affixes and how that may potentially change in a world where they don't need to bring as much novelty and complexity since those elements can partially come from the more frequent dungeon rotations.
Another big reveal was an increase in M+ rewards for players that can go above level 15, which can be nicely seen in
For players who can take on this challenge (which will likely be somewhat harder than +20s were in Shadowlands, especially seasons 3 and 4), the gear available will be much closer to Mythic Raiders (though the best geared players will still be those who do both forms of content). This also means the "progression" experience for Mythic Plus should last much longer into the patch for any players who found themselves feeling "capped" at +15 rewards fairly early into the patch, though the rewards for players who do wish to stop there won't change much.
Dratnos and Tettles also quickly cover the Thundering affix and the iteration it's received so far! Though it launched in a state that was widely criticized, it's already received an overhaul to include a debuff-matching mechanic which, at the time of recording, is beginning testing over the weekend. What do you think about the affix and all of the philosophical changes coming to Mythic Plus in Dragonflight? Let us know in the comments!
