Fated Mythic Jailer - Changes Due to Time Acceleration and Things to Know
With the "Soak" Fated affix on the Jailer encounter, time acceleration will change certain aspects of the fight. While the fight difficulty doesn't change a lot, there's a couple things you should know, so we're summarizing the changes caused by the time acceleration.
"Soak" Fated Affix
As a reminder, the "Soak" Fated affix is
. It's important to look at what soaking
does -- "increasing the flow of time" by 15/30%.
The important part of this on Mythic Jailer is that your attacks and movement speed will be increased by 15/30%, debuffs and buffs will also expire 15/30% faster which can have some serious implications if you're not ready.
With that in mind, let's go through some of the changes.
Important Changes to Fated Mythic Jailer
While these changes are targeted at Mythic Jailer, some of these will apply to the lower difficulties as well.
On Mythic Jailer, one set of debuffs will be applied at the start of every phase. This makes it easy to dispel and soak these when nothing else is happening.
On first impression, this may seem like it significantly increases the difficulty of the encounter, but when handled correctly, the debuffs are infrequent and mostly change things that may catch you off guard, but aren't necessarily harder.
Dispel First Debuffs Instantly
dispel the first set of debuffs instantly before the Jailer uses
is applied to all players.
Since the debuff
is Cosmic damage, which is part Arcane damage, any undispelled players will likely instantly die.
The Bomb weakauras that players used on progression will still work the majority of the time. However, when players are under the effects of the time acceleration from
, their countdown time will be shorter because the bomb debuffs will be ticking faster.
This means that you'll need to jump before you normally do. You'll want to either adjust your weakaura for when you're under the effects of time acceleration, or remember to jump slightly earlier than normal when under the effects of time acceleration.
While the bomb timer is shorter, you will be able to make it to your assigned hole at the same pace due to the increased movement speed, so don't worry about getting to the hole, just when to jump.
Phase 1 Tank Combo
If a Tank is under the effects of
, the root may expire before Jailer lands the final hit also knocking the tank back! Position accordingly or use a knockback cancelling effect like
Azeroth Blood Damage Buff
will speed up the expiration of Azeroth Blood's damage buff. If you're going for a higher Azeroth Blood stack, you may find that the debuff is expiring too early now to chain the debuff into a 6 stack.
Phase 2 Mind Controls
If players don't get the same number of stacks of
, then the MCs can expire at slightly different times, possibly missing an important Crowd Control. In addition, with the increased movement speed, any non-CC'ed Mind Control will run towards the edge even faster than before.
Death Sentence will be sped up as well if the player is under the effects of
. You can opt to delay this dispel until after the Death Sentence has been applied and ask that player not to soak. Alternatively, you can just have everyone soak anyways and just dispel Death Sentence earlier since the boss should be relatively dead at that point anyways.
