Battleground Mercenaries Will Not Benefit From 50% Honor Bonus in Patch 8.2.5

In today's Patch 8.2.5 Patch Notes, there was a line added in the Battleground section that announced that Mercenaries will no longer benefit from the Enlistment Bonus buff. This buff grants 50% bonus honor to the faction with less population. This will make the grind for the Blood of the Enemy Essence about 50% longer for players on the more populated side.

Impact
Previously, the Mercenary mode meant that the faction with the higher population in Battlegrounds (usually Horde) is able to sign up for Mercenary mode to fight on the opposite side for 50% bonus Honor. Now, this Honor buff will no longer apply to the faction with more population. You'll still be able to queue for Mercenary Mode, but there is no longer bonus for doing so. The faction with the lower population should still retain their 50% Honor Buff.

The Grind for Essences
The Battleground Essences (

) are already the longest and most tedious grind across all the Essences. While all the other essences are daily/weekly gated, this one is not directly time-gated but is a long, long grind that requires 50k Honor for Rank 3.
This change makes the grind about 50% longer for players on the less populated side due to not receiving the 50% Honor buff.
Why are the Battleground Essences the only Essences that require a very long grind? That's a discussion for another time. In the mean time,
if you want any of these Essences, you might want to grind out them out before Patch 8.2.5 makes this grind even worse.

Personally, I think this means that people won't be using mercenary mode at all anymore.
