The first time I tried to battle with my Destroyer and my transport ship, I permanently lost both ships on the 85% mission and there were no ships at my docks.

I got this quest and met Solog Roark at the dry dock to build another destroyer. I did, but could not start the mission because I had only one ship, the new destroyer. I abandoned the mission and met Solog Roark at the dry dock to build a destroyer for the third time. After that, I had just the replacement destroyer at the docks, but noticed the transport ship sitting there. There was not a second destroyer as I had hoped. I tried to start the mission, but my fleet in the Command Table had only the destroyer--no transport ship. I could not use the transport ship on the two-ship mission. I abandoned the quest and had "another" destroyer built. There is still the same two ships at the docks, but only the one destroyer is in my fleet.

I exited the game and logged back in and now my transport ship is in the fleet and I could complete the mission.
