I got this after I killed atleast 20 thiefs near the northern coast at the 1st wastewander camp. Spent about half an hour looking for this.

I needed this and the Chest pattern for the Dragonscale Leatherworking quest since there was none on AH.

So I started grinding, now 1 hour later and roughly 250 kills I'm leaving Tanaris very dissapointed since no pattern dropped for me, giving me the title <unlucky f*ck> since based on only droprate I would have gotten atleast 6 patterns.

So it's all up to AH now, let there be a kind soul somewhere.

After about 22 kills. But counting Thieves only. When you get it, keep going, you should get another copy every 2nd kill after getting the first. AH the rest or give them to a friend.

I began to think the same thing after NEVER being able to find the Turtle Scale Gloves pattern required for the Wild Leather quests, but obviously it DOES exist. If it didn't there would be no such thing as a Dragonscale Leatherworker.

Update: Just checked the AH on my server (Silvermoon) and found half dozen or more of each pattern and picked them up for 30-40 silver each, then while running through tanaris farming scorps, decided to explore and killed a handful of Wastewanders as I passed by. Each pattern dropped within the first 3-5 kills. Either I got extremely lucky or they recently upped the odds on them dropping. That would explain the sudden availability and low price on AH as well. Now, if only the same were true of the Turtle Scale Gloves... :(

Do you have to be on the quest for this item to drop? I've killed a lot of these guys on a lot of different toons and I have never seen it drop once. Can anyone confirm that the pattern drops if you are NOT on the quest?

I got the patterns for Tough Scorpid Gloves, the Breastplate & Leggings WITHIN like 2 minutes (5-6 mobs) on my 44 rogue while I was on the quest. Prob extremely lucky :)

图样：硬化蝎壳手套 is now available to leatherworkers only. It's a unique BoP area drop in Tanaris and the drop rate is pretty good (better than posted, since these numbers include stats for non-leatherworkers who can't get the pattern). Most of the mobs in and around the 潮行巨人s drop the patterns. I farmed 6 out of 7 of the patterns for the set in under an hour. (Missed the last one because I thought I was done!)

图样：硬化蝎壳手套 seemed to take a little longer than the rest. It dropped off a 晶鳞蜥蜴 around 53, 44 (map here) in Tanaris close to the 潮行巨人s.

Note: Don't buy these patterns off the AH - they're going to be very overpriced because someone has one sitting around that isn't BoP.

Hey Guys,

So I farmed up all these recipes except the gloves from the turtles lining the coast of Tanaris in about 2-3 hours. The gloves pattern came from the Southsea Strongarms in Lost Rigger Cove after farming them for about 30 minutes. So yeah, these patterns still drop.

FOR THE LW SCORPID PLANS GRIND

-Never buy those patterns on AH, it's an easy farm for Leatherworkers. (1 1/2hr max for all plans)
-Each plan will drop one after the other; you don't loot twice the same pattern.
-潮行巨人 are the most abundant and they respawn faster then all other creatures found in Tanaris that gives those plans.
-My estimate it's about 40 to 60 kills per plan.

An essential macro to get to mobs faster in water ( MOUNTNAME= replace it with wathever flying or waterwalking mount you have):

/cast MOUNTNAME; MOUNTNAME;MOUNTNAME
/dismount

Mobs are so spread apart it's hard to get out of water fast so you will need this macro.

There are versions of these on AH that make them appear to have been removed from game. That version has, but the recipe and items have not. The recipes were changed to Bind on Pickup and now only drop for leatherworkers. The listed farming method below, (as listed in other comments) works like a charm.
