If you are a leatherworker and have trouble selling surplus thick leather for a decent price make these and vendor them.
The tunic sells to a vendor for 59.71 silver
Two silken thread cost 10 silver (9 silver if you have honored reputation with the vendor).
59.71 - 10 = 49.71
You need 7 thick leather
49.71 / 7 = 7.10
7.10 * 20 = 142
So that's 1 gold and 42 silver for a stack of thick leather.
On my server thick leather sells somewhere between 1g20 and 1g50 a stack.
i sell these for about 4g on my server and it is quik money i went from 20g to 80g after i sold most of mine and lvls you LW fast and make money off it
I'm shocked this has yet to be suggested as a 39 twink item. It is much easier to obtain than the world drops, and requires level 36 to wear, thus still allowing TBC enchants.

Very worth it in my opinion, for having some survivability, as well as DPS output.
I just made one of these and put it on the AH for what I thought was a bloated price. I logged in to check my inbox just now and found that not only had I sold the headband for 20G but I also sold this item for 20G. 17G from each one, 34G for what cost me only a few gold to make and that's only because I was sick of farming the leather.
Wow...lucky or did I underestimate its worth?...
