This mount will be released as the rare loot from the WoW TCG Expansion "Throne of the Tides". The official release date is October 11th 2011.

Facts:

One of the new Tallstrider mounts released in patch 4.3.
The level 20 land mount (epic) can be traded in-game.
Mount automatically adjusts speed to your highest land riding skill.

The loot items from this set are:

Sack of Starfish (2/3)

It's wonderful how this ostracized animal (which I know is the least popular hunter pet)

I see: Hunters with a matching pet just for the heck of it like many have done before. Kinda like a Hunter riding the Winterspring Frostsaber with their matching Frostsaber pet and (soon to be fighter) vanity pet Winterspring Cub.

I had no trouble redeeming my code. It works like the usual TCG loot... Go to the Promotion Page --> Enter Data --> Pick up in-game code --> Head off to Landro. It uses the same skeleton as the Magic Rooster, and even some of the sound files (for now, I'm guessing). He's really adorable, and I've already gotten some compliments on him. :)

If you want to see what the new birds look like go to battle.net...log in and see your "not collected mounts" there is no picture to start but if you mouse over you can see previews for each one...Springstrider is white, Swift Lovebird is Pink, Shorestrider is Blue, and the Foreststrider is purple...

Its strange why that mount are not available for Taurens because them live together in Mulgore, or the Tauren is extlemely heavy compared with the mount.

I got this mount from a friend who plays TCG but not WoW, and didn't research it, thinking it'd be white cause the pic on the card, I redeemed it, and got a teal one. this thing is super cool, and with size buffs it stands pretty tall. my favorite ground mount aside from the fel-drake :)

got to be careful if you got one of these in your bags/bank/gbank, it's the same icon as 迅捷爱情鸟 and 迅捷春日陆行鸟, I almost listed it for 5k, I mixed it with the other mounts and thought it was one of the cheap seasonal event mounts

This mount has the same coloration as the rare spawn 雌性森林陆行鸟 which had a unique skin. It was an old favorite since vanilla for hunters to tame and collect. The skin is also found on 沼泽陆行鸟 now in Swamp of Sorrows.

Draenor will bring a matching pet, known as Grovestrider Hatchling, so along with your Strider Clutchmother, those lucky few of you with this mount no longer have to be envious of the Mazzranache little family crowd.

This mount, along with the X-51 nether rocket (regular not xtreme) are becoming VERY rare with the removal of the TCG card system a little while back. If you are a mount collector like me, I would try and scoop one up ASAP before they all possibly disappear. Both of the mounts I mentioned have not been on my server for a long time and I am kicking myself for not buying them earlier in the game, as now the prices of them are soaring, and the amounts available are dropping. So if you are lucky enough to find one, have the gold to purchase, and do want them I would not wait for a second opportunity. Goodluck all and happy hunting!

These seem to have almost disappeared entirely from auction houses everywhere in 2016. Sadly the only place they seem to be available now is for purchase on eBay for a few hundred dollars. :-(

I'm not sad to see the orange part go, that was out of place anyway, but now my beautiful turquoise bird has been replaced with a dull green and black impostor. At least he's still in my stables, instead of hanging from the rafters of a hunter's lodge in Northrend :*(
