If a warlock
prepares a soul well
, each character that takes a Healthstone from the soul well, acts as the creator of their own stone and it will therefore restore 45% of that character's base health, not the base health of the warlock.
Edit: Since MoP, a healthstone now restores 20%, but has 3 charges. It no longer restores 45% (with its only charge) as it did when I first made the comment.
Edit: In Legion a healthstone heals me for around 353k (naked) to 364k (equipped), still less than the 480k+ from an
Ancient Healing Potion
. Healthstones do physical school healing and cannot crit heal. But it is free!
Edit: Since patch 7.3 the healtstone heals for 25% of the user's health. Much needed buff. Provides a stronger heal than a health potion now, so ask your neighborhood warlock for a soulwell.
Instantly restores 14% of your health in BGs.
Now shares a cooldown with potions, rendering it not very useful...
Edit: Currently on it's own Cooldown again, making it useful once more.
Ya as a lock Im not so much mad just confused that they kept them in game considering in WoD lvls anyone can make the hp pots and even buy the mats from a Trading Post vender, don't have one just ask for an invite to someone that has one, You can buy 5 Sea Scorpion Segment for 20 resources and takes 10 per pot but makes 4. They heal for 18k base more then the stones and despite the flags still currently crit.
You can obtain a
from your garrison whenever you like, without a warlock, by queing for the
. There is a Soulwell next to the NPCs there.
As of 6.0, this item is totally useless (from lvls 91+) even for hard core raiding guilds. Sharing CDs with
Engineer 'Eternal' Spinal Injector
, and the fact that it seems not to heal the 20% anymore, but these to do, I don't see why I should depend on warlocks anymore for backup healing. Sea scorpion is easily fishable in any zone of Draenor, as long as you fish on the coast, to the sea, not inland (rivers, lakes, etc).
I'm confused ... the icon to create a health stone is a dark green ball covered by crystal chunks. When I click it ...
nothing is added to my inventorybags
and the icon does not change appearance.... so where is the created health stone?
how do I consume it
Right now in 7.0.3, Healthstones DO NOT share cooldowns with Health Potions, meaning you can use both a health potion and a healthstone in one fight.
So even though healthstones heal less than a health potion, you can use them both making Healthstones useful again!
A bit of a lack of information on how hard these got nerfed.
Since Patch 6.0.2
Healthstones can no longer critically heal
Do not start their cooldown til leaving combat
Share a cooldown with Healing
(No longer true since Patch 8.0.1)
Heals for significantly less than Healing Tonics and Potions
(No longer true since Patch 7.3.0)
The pro is they're still free.
Blizzard's reasoning behind the nerf was to reduce the utility that
s bring to a raid, to ensure having one on your guild's roster is not mandatory
(til Uldir debuted anyway)
As of patch 7.3
once again restores a flat percentage of the user's health
In Battle for Azeroth that looks to be going up to 40%
In case anyone did not know the
do not share a cooldown. I keep a stack of both potions just in case on my Main and on my alts I always get a
as well. If you are not a Warlock you can easily get a
by visiting your garrison, enter the proving grounds and click on the soulwell that is there then leave the instance.
Patch 8.2.0 undocumented changes.
You can no longer use the Proving Grounds to grab a free .
