This enchant is pritty nice at a low lvl but the enchant is an AoE. So once you get it avoid attacking near mobs that are sheeped or sapped.

Though I could test this easily enough, I don't want to waste a decent item on a sucky weapon just to see what would happen, but does anyone know if there is an appearance change on the weapon after this is applied? I doubt there is, but I noticed that it wasn't stated on any page related to the item so I just wanted to add to the details.

This is great for an aoe grinding protection paladin with:

- Reckoning (10% chance after being hit that next 4 weapon swings within 8 seconds generate an additional attack), and

- a fast weapon like Hanzo Sword (level 50 blue boe one hand sword, 1.50 speed, procs 75 damage) or Flurry Axe (level 42 purple boe one hand axe, 1.50 speed, procs extra attack)

Since it's a straight % and not ppm, it procs like crazy with this talent and these weapons. Nothing like blazing 6+ undead mobs at level 50 in Western Plaguelands repeatedly.

Also, another character can use Fiery Blaze Enchantment in the trade window like a regular enchantment. Enchanting it in this manner will NOT make the boe item soulbound.

However, I'm not sure if using Fiery Blaze Enchantment on your own boe item will make it soulbound.

yet another unfair advantange that ally may have if this is used for twinking.. it doesnt do much damage but.. its an aoe that horde will never get.. =/

Protection Pally here. Picked up while grinding the whelps and finally applied to Fist of Stone (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17943) from Maraudon.

Goes well with fast attack weapons and the mana proc from the mace is sweet. The proc also has a chance to crit. I've had crits of about 20. The flaming sound when it procs makes the grinding that much more enjoyable.

I probably won't replace this until Outland.

Just verified, this does not make the enchanted item soulbound, even though the enchant itself is. My priest just put it on a BoE mace and sent it to my paladin. It also does not have a visible graphic.

In order to simplify the actual benefit of this enchant, I calculated the damage per mob depending on your weapon speed.

Fiery Blaze enchant deals (1.65 / weapon speed) DPS per mob.

I got this for my Mallet of Zul'Farrak Very nice for a toon which is my main on a new server. If you have alot of gold you can probably do better but for me it's very nice to have a free fiery enchant.

This caught my eye when I was considering the repercussions of allowing weapon procs to work in feral forms. It is obviously nothing game breaking, but I believe that under the right conditions this enchant could provide some good humor, if nothing else.

Because each proc hits in an AOE, and assuming there is no internal cooldown, then this enchant adds approximately up to 1.1 * X * X dps, where X is the number of mobs you are swipe spamming on (and assuming that they are all within 3 yards of each other). This is an exponential damage equation.

Assuming that your swipe does an average of 375 per target, you crit 40% of the time (a reasonable number considering that this enchant would only see use by an 80 against low level instances), then your swipe deals 350 * X dps.

If you are tanking 10 mobs, then this would increase your damage by 3.14% of swipe's damage in an ideal situation. If you are tanking 50 mobs, then this would increase your effective swipe damage by 15.7%. It would increase your dps by 100% of your swipe damage at 318 targets (111k dps each)

The proc from Mongoose is worth 1.44% crit, which is a pretty small buff when you are already critting regularly (assumed 40%, likely more in practice).

1.1 * x^2 = (1.44/140) * 350 * x
x = 3.27

So for when you are tanking >3 targets fiery blaze enchant is superior to mongoose for aoe dmg (and threat) from swipe exclusively.

Massacre increases my Swipe dmg from 501 to 513 in Rawr (vs 0 armor target). Since my swipes were hitting the mobs in normal Shadow Labyrinth for 375 instead of 501, I assume they have ~5250 armor. From unenchanted to Massacre increases my Swipe from 375 to 384. This 9*x damage per swipe is 8.4*x dps after accounting for swing speed and crit rate. This places Massacre on par with Fiery Blaze when tanking 7.6 mobs, and Fiery Blaze as superior for all past that point.

This is all assuming an ideal situation where everything you are tanking is in a 3 yard circle, there is no ICD on Fiery Blaze and Fiery Blaze does not get resisted / suffer diminishing returns etc. No testing of this enchant was done ingame, and baseline figures were pulled from a small sample of me in Shadow Labyrinth (normal) with pretty mediocre gear.

This is all pretty useless (for soloing old content you would want Lifeward anyways) but it is something that I had to investigate once I saw an exponential damage equation. Its only real reward would be if you managed to single-pull Deadmines and then crash/lag your computer/internet connection from the tens of thousands of damage messages you would receive simultaneously (10k messages for 'only' 100 mobs).

Dont forget to tank them in an enclosed space, so they are all in range of each other. Oh, and to FRAPS it. :)

In my opinion, this enchant on the Battleworn Thrash Blade is the best main hand you can have as a levelling tank. The enchant makes AoE tanking VERY easy, it procs VERY often, each hit of a cleave or Revenge can proc it, and the extra attack on the thrash gives you more rage, and another chance to proc. I have been using a regular Thrash Blade since I was Lvl 45, and I still use it as my main weapon for tanking trash mobs at Lvl 68. The only time I swap it out is for boss fights, where I use a Shaarde.

Amazing potential on this enchant, find a BoA item to use it on. Makes low level tanking much easier to hold aggro on the mobs you're tanking, and the bigger the pull the better it is.

It'll become suboptimal once you hit Outland though, but that is around when a fair amount of tanking weapons start dropping.

I spent a lot of time grinding for the heart back when this was of optimal use (40s/50s). I didn't have any luck, so while upping my mining, now in my 70s, I went back to the Badlands and picked it up while mining Mithril.

Note: This thing doesn't even give a glow effect. Sadness.

Has anyone tested this as a possible lvl 1 twink enchant? A lvl 1 warrior tank with this enchant on a boa dagger could work out well seeing as how the proc is 15% chance and not based on procs per minute. faster wep = more procs in this situation?
