How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/big_battle_bear.htm (most information sourced from there), the expansion released on the 28th of October 2008. Upperdeck the makers of the TCG specified that all three loots in this expansion (Party G.R.E.N.A.D.E., The Flag of Ownership, Big Battle Bear) were as common as those in the previous set. Mounts tend to be more collectible than pets, however Blizzard released the "Big Blizzard Bear" during BlizzCon 2008 and a similar modeled bear mount is obtainable via faction reputation. Therefore this has brought the price down to an average around $130 USD.

Facts:

You receive one epic item version when you redeem the code (free).
Fur color is royal purple.
The level 40 mount (epic) can be traded in-game.
When learned, the bear mount counts toward the Mountain 'o Mounts achievement (Horde or Alliance).

Blizzard has announced that the "removal" of the BoP flag on most TCG mounts is intended and expected to go live ( Blue Post ):

In the upcoming content patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade, we are changing the Upper Deck Trading Card Game mounts to be Bind-on-Use instead of Bind-on-Pickup. This will allow players to sell newly redeemed TCG mounts in-game through the trade window, Auction House or via CoD. The primary goal behind this change is to help reduce the number of players who are getting scammed by trading for an invalid mount code. As part of this update, the NPC vendor functionality currently in place for these mounts will be removed, and instead the mount (both epic and non-epic when applicable), will now be immediately placed in your inventory upon the verified redemption of the code. If you have already redeemed one of these codes and have not purchased both the epic and non-epic versions from the vendor window, it's important that you do so before the patch is released.

This update will affect the Spectral Tiger, Swift Spectral Tiger, X-51 Nether-Rocket, X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME, Big Battle Bear, and Magic Rooster Egg. Items that were obtained before the patch will not be affected by this change and will continue to be soulbound to the character that purchased them.

They are not so much as removing the BoP flag as they are creating a new item without it.

This mount has the same color as the baby bear purchasable with the Argent Tournament vendors in Icecrown. It's funny to use both of them together!

Today got it from wrathgate loot card 1/3, and i get that card from pack, which was in Cataclysm´s collectors edition. Also got 50x http://www.wowhead.com/item=35223. When i bought wotlk CE, got also 50x 修默老爹的宠物饼干, but no mount.

I got this randomly same as the guy above me. Decided to check out the TCG deck that came with my cata collectors, got a Lazro's loot card, redeemed it and BAM! big battle bear and x50 spectral tiger sandbox swings. After reading the comments here and discovering it was BOE, i decided to sell it and got some random guy buy it off me for 60k gold. Must be pretty rare, either that or he really likes bears O.o.

I just wonder if this mount can be redeemed in WOW reign of Taiwan if I get one from America? There are less people playing WOW in Taiwan now so it's more expensive in local market than in America.

I've been looking for this mount in the AH for YEARS now.. I never see it. I will say it popped up once last year for around 5 million gold... That's way too far out of my price range so I couldn't buy it. I see people saying it goes for around 40K to 100K but I don't believe that at all. I honestly want this mount more than any other but I cannot for the life of me ever get my hands on it.

I bought this on ebay years ago for $60, it is my favorite of all the TCG Mount. The only other one I really like it the Savage Raptor. I would like to own the other mounts for collection purpose but they are too expensive now. Although even if I owned them all, I would still ride the Big Battle Bear as I do currently as my daily driver (ground mount)

I know the Tigers are the most popular but I never thought they were that good looking a mount. I would have bought Spectral Tiger back when they were cheaper had I like the look of them, only reason to ride one now it to show off and showing off I like to do. The thing about the Big Battle Bear is it looks good and very rarely does anyone even realize you are riding a 2% player owned mount. The Tigers are at 3% ownership.
