Drops from Heroic Utgarde Pinnacle off of King Ymiron.
Currently the second best hunter belt in the game, only beaten by
from Maexxna in heroic Naxx
For a fury titan grip warrior this seems superior to badge loot belts
. If your hit capped, the leather one
would be better though.
I can't believe warriors are even chiming in on this. Its got Int on it...its DEFINITELY not for you. If there is any int using mail wearing class in your group, its absolutely absurd for you to even think about rolling/needing.
This is also a very nice belt for enhancement shamans!
Pretty much every piece of mail gear obtainable through raids appears to have a chunk of haste on it, which is a poor stat for most classes, particularly BM hunters and death knights of all specs. If you get this belt, and you don't care about haste, you can be confident in the fact that you have the best in slot until you get to heroic raiding. So slap an Eternal Belt Buckle on that bad boy and grab your favorite gem.
PS, please don't bicker over who deserves an item. This is not Thottbot. People come to Wowhead for knowledge, not arguments.
The arugment that warriors shouldn't be allowed this item because it has intellect on it contridicts the argument that it is hunter only, as paladins use plate and mana.
This is like back in the day where prot paladins were shouted at for using "warrior gear" for tanking, i.e. tanking gear with a tad of strength on it, or rogues using feral pieces with some strength. If the item is better than the current item, there is every right to be allowed to roll on it. It's just a heroic.
Having said that, hunters and shamans -should- get "priority" over a warrior, paladin or DK, because of the availability of plate for these three classes.
Formerly the belt of David Bowie.
This belt is currently giving 0.46% more crit than it should.
I recently picked up
and was trying to determine hit, crit, and such, when I noticed the change when I equipped it. First I thought that Depraved wasn't giving full stats as my crit only increased by 0.54% as opposed to 0.99% that RatingBuster suggested. Found that Depraved wasn't giving less stats, but Sovereign's was giving more.
So this is an even better belt than before.
Very nice waist! I wouldn't think twice before needing this item. I also wouldn't think that it's starnge that an ench shaman would need on this. But a nice warrior would let the hunter get this item as it's a bigger uppgrade for the hunter cause of it's well-known intellect.
But yeah, I admit that there aren't any better pre-raid belts for dps warriors so why shouldn't they need?
For all this arguing about plate wearers needing on this belt, i'm surprised pally's haven't been brought into the convo. Ret pally's can certainly benefit from all stats on this belt. Since most dps is coming from Auto attack, the haste is nice, int is useful seeing as we use mana and everything, plus all the basic dps stats are included.
Ok, yes it makes sense for a warrior/Ret pally to roll on this. However, you shouldn't roll for it if there is a hunter in the group that needs it. Maybe your alternatives are about the same or slightly more or less than this, but you certainly have more choices than we do for alternatives. As a rule of thumb I don't roll against warriors for their weapons (since its just a stat stick for me) and I don't roll for leather if there is a rogue/druid present. If a hunter gets this, we're going to be using it for a long time, there really is only one upgrade with hit on it for us. But a warrior will wear this only until they find a plate piece with what they need. So do us a favor and pass for the hunter or we'll just go ahead and need all your weapons.
Slap one of those fancy blacksmithing buckles on it. Put in a meta-gem. Profit.
With shamans and hunters benefiting much more from agility than strength, it would appear that the stats on this belt are indeed geared for these classes. I can understand why it would be appealing for plate dps classes to want this, but realistically, you will get much more use out of an item like
. Yes, I see the lack of hit on this piece as compared to
. But, with all that strength and the ability to have
sockets on your waist item, you can more than make up for it. Also, collecting +hit items isn't supposed to be easy. In fact if it was simpler, you might as well compare it to playing The Sims... with cheat codes. That being said, if no one that the belt was designed for needed it, I wouldn't be opposed to another class taking it. I would mock them relentlessly for having to use shaman/hunter gear, but I wouldn't crap my pants and throw my mouse.
I was on my hunter and in here and a DK needed it because he said it was an upgrade from his plate belt. I told him he does not need the intellect and refused to believe that by saying this belt is made for a dk. Now I really didnt think some people could be this well i wont say.
Sadly a DK... needed, rolled for this but -this time- luckily... won it for my hunter
The issue is that people are able to and keep rolling on gear that is NOT primarily for them
Blizzard should fix this...
have seen plate users needing on... mail... leather... cloth... (example holy paladin needing cloth)
have seen mail users needing on... leather... cloth... (example elemental/resto shammy needing on cloth)
have seen leather users needing on... cloth... (example balance/resto druid needing on cloth)
Conclusion is it has advantages and disadvantages, if one uses gear
but they should
roll on an item when at least one in the raid/heroic need and can utilize to the maximum
@ QQing Hunters. You have been rolling on gear that is absolutely worthless for you from the day this game was made.
The offended Hunters may now down rate my comment.
Still, this piece is primarily a Hunter belt, not as much for a Shaman. So, we hunters would appreciate the Shamans not rolling on us for it.
You've got to be kidding me. Have you read anything that was said? This benifits me as much as an enhancement shaman as it would a hunter. No where on this does it say "Hunter Armor". Lets look at the stats themselves.
51 Agility - Got to love agility. Gives me attack power (as much as a hunter, if I remember correctly) crit, haste, EVERYTHING that shaman needs. Really, I get as much out of this stat as you do.
+67 Stamina - Who doesn't like more hit points? I think this one explains itself.
+33 Intellect - Just like a hunter, I talent so that every point in intellect gives me another attack power. We're even there too. AND it gives me more crit. And more mana. And faster mana regen.
Improves hit rating by 43 (1.31% @ L80) - Like any melee, I need hit. You need hit. We all need to be able to hit the monster and not wonder why it is that even though the giant is the size of a small house, we seem to miss it. Hit benifits hunters and shamans.
Increases attack power by 132 - Attack power. I need every point of attack power as I can get. Because not only does attack power increase my melee damage, and increase my abilities. Attack power increases all of my SPELL damage as well, with each point I have increasing my spellpower. I don't roll on spellpower items as an
shaman, as spellpower is not my primary stat. Attack power, agility, and intellect are.
WHERE DOES IT SAY "THIS IS BETTER FOR HUNTERS"? Look, I need this, and I have NO problem rolling against a hunter for it, as a shaman. You are a classic example of 'either it's for hunters, or it's for everyone else' that got the running gag line "HUNTER WEAPON!" started.
i just got this on my hunter, i just dinged him yesterday after 79 twinking!=)
anyway, 2nd try i finally got it! not great but not to bad for starting out either, 1st time i lost to a prot pally who claims he needs the stam/int/hit for tanking, and ap and agi are just some nice extras!:O was so angry, anyway i finally got it and its a great starting belt !=)
