Lichbloom is now (beta version 3.02 (8970) Sept 18, 2008) a gatherable herb found in the snowy zones such as Storm Peaks and Icecrown. It may also contain Frost Lotus and Crystallized Life. First gatherable at about skill level 410-420 (confirming).

I took a level 80 premade druid through Storm Peaks and Icecrown. He had Apprentice Herbalism to track herbs but could not collect them. I can confirm Lichbloom requires 425 skill to harvest, because that's the number I got in the error message when I tried to pick it. This herb can be found in decent numbers in both zones.

For those who cannot fly yet, there are at least 10 nodes around the first section of The Storm Peaks, had no trouble farming them at lvl 73.

You can also get these by killing and herbing the Glacial Ancients in Coldarra, just got one on my rogue, which has 390 herbalism skill.

Some things to think of when farming Lichbloom. First of all, Storm Peaks is the ultimate place though Icecrown have them as well. These cannot be found in mid-fields, look around the trees. They are mostly under the "leaves" or nearby. They are also often found in mountain hills. So look for trees, that is the key. 280% mount is a good investment if you want to make money on herbs. Lichbloom also have a high droprate of Frost Lotus, which sells good and can be used to making flasks.
Edit: The addon "Gatherer" is very usefull for making notes about where they can be found.

The best zone for farming and is without doubt . Due to the zones nature, effective farming is practically impossible without a flying mount. Some of the best farming areas are also inhabited by mobs of level 78-80, some of which are elite. Therefore it's not desirable to farm these herbs without an epic (280%) mount and level 80 character.

Using the route detailed below, I was able to harvest in two circuits a total of 6 stacks (120 herbs) of Icethorn and Lichbloom each. In addition to these ~240herbs I gathered ~4 and 10 . One circuit took approximately 40 minutes to complete. There were one or two herbalists besides me, so these kind of gains should be rather realistic for all times of the day.

The nodes on the map are from those two circuits alone. I reseted the map before starting my first round. This should give you an idea about how many nodes there are to collect.

As a general tip, one should look for trees. It seems that about 95% of the herbs are located underneath the trees. Do not be afraid to leave the marked route a bit if you see a promising group of trees nearby. More often than not, there is a herb over there.

The best single area for gathering herbs is just a bit west of Maker's Engine. This being the area where my route goes zigzag up and down the mountainside. Running a circle around this area alone should wield great amounts of herbs if one doesn't have the time to do a full circuit.

for all you herblists out there i want to tell you how to make gold really fast.

What you will need: a flying mount any kind (prefer epic flyer because its faster) and maxed herbing is always good

1. Go out to ice crown

2. Track herbs and fly low

3. Try to circle around the region and circle it into a funnel like motion

4. When you see and herb pick it up

5. Enjoy

I did this for 1.2 hours on my shaman with 280% flying mount and i got 2 stacks of 20 lichbloom one stack of ice thorn a eternal life 2 frost lotus and made about 200g not counting the dailies i did earlyer

All that plus dailies is about 500g every day and 700 if you a little more and do heroics

Farming isnt hard guys

A better strategy for those that don't like waiting 1h for 2 stacks, go to StormPeaks, with an epic flyer you can easily make 4 stacks of both lichbloom and Icethorn with 3-5 Eternal lifes and 1-5 frostlotus.

not that icecrown isn't a good zone, but its harder to find good routes, and chance of gnaking is wayyy higher

I found that if your poor like me and don't have your epic flyer then you should farm in Icecrown. Just fly over to Sindragrosa's Fall and keep going around in a circle around the outside and go through your circle in sort of a x pattern. Just keep doing this if you only have your 60% they should respawn by the time you get back to your starting point.You will get tons of icethorn ,lichbloom, Eternal life and Frost Lotus by the time your done

The thing that is much more interesting is that you are poor while you are an herbalist, you can easily make 1K a day by just herbing, maybe depends a bit on server but hey!

Well, what i normally does is just flying arund and around in the storm peaks, a tip is to stock-pile, get around 20 stacks and sell them for maybe 50G cheaper than what it would cost if someone bought just 1 stack. Manny more people are going to get interested ;)
Good luck, i have made over 27K now on just flying in the storm peaks but again it depends on your server, and it gets quite booring after some time too.

These are no longer a rare to find herb. After patch 3.1 they are as easy to find as Icethorn.

Lichbloom have the highest icy pygment rate, just milled 41stack of this herb, got 47 Snowfall ink and 240 Ink of the sea

Great farming: while doing dailies for Sons of Hodir you can find lots of Icethorn and Lichbloom all along the cliffs and in the tree bunches. Great way to kill two birds with one stone.

As a raider my biggest expense outside of repairs was Flasks.
So I leveled a DK to 71. Maxed Herb/Alchy and went to Stormpeaks
You can do this with a low level toon and a slow flyer.
Yes it takes time and you wont make a killing. But you can keep yourself supplied with the mats needed
for Flasks.

Seems that the nodes by Jotunheim in Ice Crown are consistently spawning lichbloom, if you have the time I'd say its worth the time to just do a quick fly through every 30-60 minutes while you're farming to check for re-spawning nodes.
