If you were confused (like me) just what the hell is new about this recipe (and the healing potion injector) here's your answer: it's BoP instead of BoE. This will very likely mean that it will drop from some fixed mob (no more world drop), but that only engineers can have it drop.

The pre-2.4 version (found here) will most likely remain in-game and still be useable, although it will not drop from mobs any more. Blizzard has done something like this before, I can't remember to which item though.

Edit: even though this recipe was added both this and the BoE Healing Potion Injector scheme still drop in 2.4

The Schematic just dropped for me last night- now the question is, will these be worth more after 2.4 or less? If people have to go out and pick them up for themselves if they want them, will a BOE version be a hot commodity? Or will my schematic become BOP when the patch hits?

will still be boe, items that have changed before have remained. example questreward ring from stratholme was boe, went bop but the ones existing were still avaliable on ah etc.

I guess this is still a world drop, because it just dropped from phantom attendant (or phantom guest, not sure) in Karazhan.
