Is this only going to be lootable once per account per week, like the Loombeast Silk? If so, it’s going to be a terrible system because you would never be able to earn all the appearances even if you raided on a dozen toons every week until the end of the expansion. The first kill of the week should be a guaranteed drop, and subsequent kills on other toons in the same week should be either guaranteed drops or a good chance of getting a drop.

Bullions in Dragonflight Season 4 were the best system for earning raid weapon appearances because each boss could drop them for each toon, and there were catch-up mechanisms in place. Since then, earning raid weapon appearances has only gotten more timegated and grindy, which is a shame because the Manaforge Omega weapon appearances are absolutely amazing and I want all of them. I am willing to raid on more toons, so let me earn them!

Are these once per week like silk threads for cape?

After finally unlocking this perk I ran 5 characters through LFR and none of them got a sliver

edit: Yeah 23 kills no drops after the first quest, I'm done for the season

Did 6 kills todays across 2 characters and haven't gotten a single drop (besides the initial one from the quest). Not sure if this is working as intended.

Just got my 1 drop from Salhadaar chest (not quest, this is 2 overall). It was alt #14 for the week.

Will gather some stats here while still running. All my runs are on LFR difficulty.

Week 1 after 40 runs, got 2 from loot:
1 time quest
Loot on alt #14
Loot on alt #33

Week 2 after 27 runs, got 3 from loot:
nothing on alt #1
Loot on alt #3
Loot on alt #5
Loot on alt #6

Overall:
- you can get more than 1 in a week per account (got 2 on different alts)
- you can get a drop after finishing quest on week 1
- it's not bugged, just a very low drop chance (<10%)
- you loot it directly from Salhadaar chest, like any item
- not guaranteed on 1 kill of the week
- not tradable
- not worth farming with current drop rate, if you want an appearance it's better to get lfr/heroic items and upgrade

Not tested:
- getting more than 1 on one character (by running multiple difficulties)

If they made this currency a 100% drop rate I know many of us would keep running the raids to collect the appearances. This low drop chance has the complete opposite effect. Done with Manaforge. Blizzard again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

This doesn't even seem to be a guaranteed drop once per week per warband, so it's even worse than the Loombeast Silk. After killing the boss multiple times both last week and this week, I still only got 1 Sliver (the guaranteed one from completing the quest for the first time on your warband). I can't believe how bad this system is, after all the good systems we have had in the past.

Blizzard did a little copy paste from the Liberation of Undermine reputation track, making an equivalent drop to last patch's Counterfeit Dealer's Chip. That chip also had a small chance of dropping from one of the bosses. And there were roughly the same amount of mogs to buy with the Counterfeit Chip as there are with Ethereal Essence Sliver. The big difference, of course, was that there were *two* one-time quests that gave a Counterfeit Dealer's Chip *per alt*, whereas there is only *one* one-time quest that gives an Ethereal Essence Sliver, and it's a once per warband quest so alts help not at all. Seems a design oversight (probably never even tested by Quality Assurance) and will be fixed I'm sure to be more reasonable.

This in particular is such a sour note to an otherwise excellent raid experience. I really enjoyed the system in Undermine for cosmetic gear transmog. I think I ended up with all but a few copies of the yellow LFR versions, and I ran a LOT of Undermine. That, conversely, I found the ONLY thing appealing about Undermine. I'm just not a fan of goblin satire. or their drill themed everything... but I digress....

I ran an absurd amount of Manaforge, and thought maybe because I didn't "use" the 1st item, I thouight it might be preventing me from getting another. (I chose the M Polearm mog and keep it in my bags for my Wrathgaurd, who is picky and vain AF and insisted I spend it on him alone and not the rest of my "warband scrubs.")

I am lucky if I run it twice a week now, but before that I was running 6-8 chars through weekly H runs. I ramped up my efforts after getting the renown for the cosmetics. At this point, I have almost all of the H and even wasted some gilded crests to upgrade to M weapons they couldn't even use to access the mog.

It's been at least 35 clears and not once have I seen the item after getting the first from the quest. I like all versions of most of the gear, so it's disappointing to leave so much of it unattained. No, I am not going to run LFR to try to scoop up those variants either... :/

Would like 虚灵精华残缕 drop early in raids. But no, we shall farm it AFTER the raids. And it's not 100% drop. 50+ mogs to collect but that will not happen.
Same with 混杂机械件, I liked Undermine zone but forcing us to the area just to farm the currency is a very very bad game design.
Why not make more zones more fun and engaging gameplay? You have 20+ years of game design experience. This is one of the worst things you could do to your customers and we are not happy.

Everyone has already said a lot on how utterly terrible this thing is: why change it from S2 which allowed you to get all weapon mogs given enough alts? Why are dinars not dropping from LFR either? Did we dirty transmog-collecting casuals have it "too good" last season? Why is Blizzard so intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?

But let's not forget one of the worst things about futilely queuing for Salhadaar LFR: getting trapped into a Dimensius party. That sinking feeling when you click on the queue pop and it instantly teleports you into the raid rather than show you the group slowly filling… Zone in, see the two+ Determination stacks, eat the Deserter debuff, switch to another alt, repeat.

🐌This item should be a 50% drop chance off Nexus King. they have shown a MASSIVE amount of disrespect for our time farming these. Do you have ANY. IDEA. how miserable it is to run 5+ alts weekly on LFR nexus King only to be forced to do Dimensius with 5 stacks because people DON'T use their eyes? and on top of that forced to take a 30 min deserter buff? holding me Hostage while i suffer through this crap? Even when you get to Nexus king and down him, there's still no slivers! 3-5 weeks i've gotten ONE! it's not a pet, it's not a mount, so why the heck is it NON EXISTANT?

This is pure torture, and i do not want to do this Raid ANYMORE. Respect your players blizzard. Because this clearly isn't how!

I have been running the raid weekly on LFR, Normal, and Heroic trying to get one of these across 6 toons for TMOG. I full clear the raid 18 times a week across various difficulties and got my first one ever to drop today. Put that into perspective how low the drop chance is for this. I have been religiously clearing this raid 18 times a week since this item was released and I have never seen my guildies get one and tonight everyone was questioning what the hell it was I looted.

After running this on LFR 5 times a week for three months, I finally got one of these to drop.

What an absolute horrible drop rate these have.
