Not too shabby with some wise gems on it. The high stamina benefits my pet, ultimately giving me spelldamage too via Demonic Knowledge. And the melee-reduction is minimal unless it's meant to be 5% (and I hope they mean that), but if it's percentual, it will be nice.
Buffed in 2.0.7. Not quite sure how much stamina was removed, but there's now 33 +dmg on there. Definitely worth it now.
However, I think the set bonus is indeed 5. Randomrogue will now Ambush you for only 5995, wewt. Pretty much negligible, but that's fine, because the bracers are rather crappy.
Mats aren't too bad for how good this belt is. Easy enough to farm Primal Earth, or something like Mana/Fire/Water/Air and sell/trade to get yourself the Earths, which is usually more time efficient. Only problem is the Primal Mooncloth, but it doesn't require an exorbitant amount, just a bit of patience with peoples' cooldowns.
Slotting a Solid Star of Elune (+12 Stamina) and a Glowing Nightseye (+5 Damage & +6 Stamina) into this myself.
compared to the PvP belts
Marshal's Silk Belt:
Marshal's Dreadweave Belt:
General's Silk Belt:
General's Dreadweave Belt:
they generally offer the same amount of bonuses but the gem slots on this belt will offer more customisation. Do a lot of PvP on weekends and you can easily farm the PvP in under a week. The PvP belts are much easier and cheaper to get.
Veteran's Dreadweave Belt:
36 Spell Damage
Properly socketed (Solid Star + Mystic Dawnstone or Two Steady Talasite with the 2.2 patch), Unyielding Girdle will offer:
40 Stam (-5 from Veteran's)
3 Int (-27)
28 Resilience (-3)
32 Spell Damage (-4)
Clearly inferior, but this belt provides two good uses:
1) On a battlegroup like mine where Horde can barely farm 5k honor a day, this is a very solid substitute for the Veteran's belt, allowing you to farm other pieces first.
2) PvEers who are also interested in PvP can socket this with Runed Living Rubies and have a very competitive multi-purpose belt! 50 spell damage is competitive even with the PvE belt, Girdle of Ruination, which gives 57 spell damage properly socketed along with some spell crit.
All in all a useful multi-purpose belt that could be considered the jack-of-all trades/master of none.
As for the set bonus it's lol-worthy.
If the damage reduction on the set bonus works like a shaman's stoneskin totem, which I imagine it would, then the damage reduction occurs before armor is taken into account. This is crappy because some of that 5 damage would have been mitigated by armor anyways. Granted, it isn't as big of a deal for us since we have low damage mitigation from armor but it is something to keep in mind when attempting to quantify the bonus.
The purpose of the Unyielding is the same as every other crafted set: to give people a place to start. The set is not as good as the honor rewards for those slots, but the set is something to wear while you work towards those items.
Very interesting finding.
I went to upgrade my unyielding girdle with the Vindicator's Belt today. Although the tooltip has been changed from +39 Stamina to +28, it is currently giving me 3 MORE stamina than the Vindicator's belt. I have it gemmed with one Steady Talasite and 1 Mystic Dawnstone. So I'm getting +46 Stamina from the belt and another +6 from the gem.
Can anyone confirm these findings ?
This set has been given a huge buff in patch 2.4. Now we get an additional 20 resilience as the set bonus.
A comparison of wearing the
together with the
versus the honor set of
Veteran's Dreadweave Cuffs
Veteran's Dreadweave Belt
(assuming you use the +8 resilience gem and the +12 stam gem)
unyielding vs veterans
resilience 68 : 57
Spell damage 32 : 61
Stamina 79 : 76
Armor 167 : 221
Intelligence 3 : 46
The extra 20 resilience set bonus is very very nice!
