Just fyi... there is a misconception among some that this horse requires Exalted rep to obtain, even if you are a human. Perhaps it used to be like that, but no longer.

Any human can purchase this black stallion mount, at any level of rep... and of course anyone else with sufficient rep to buy a horse can buy this one.

As of Patch 3.2, mounts that require 75 Riding Skill can be attained at level 20 for 6g altogether—5g for training, and 1g for the mount itself.

Oddly enough when I changed my Blood Elf into a Dranei the resulting character had only this mount.

I came across this mount by accident in Wetlands just as I was about to level to qualify to get a mount.

Just goes to show...it's worth looking arond as most people head straight for Eastvele Logging Camp (if human) to get a mount.

I faction changed a blood elf priest to be a Draenei priest, and i was only exalted with Undercity when I was horde, but now my priest is only exalted with Darnassus. I somehow have the Black Stallion as one of my mounts o_O!

This one looks great and as of the latest patch (4.0.1) ALL your mounts will scale with your riding skill, so enjoy riding this horse at 100% speed :)

Definitely an awesome horse for those of us who hate the armored epic versions. For years I was disappointed I missed out on the old epic unarmored mounts, but now that no longer matters. Thanks Blizz, truly a wonderful idea about the mount scaling.

Where do you buy this mount from these days? I've been to Easvtale logging camp and it can't be bought from there. Is it

Katie is now found at /way 76 67 in Stormwind.

For those without coordinates, go to the Old Town from the Trade District and turn right when you enter the Old Town. Follow the street to the fountain and then go up the stairs to the right of it. Go through the arch and turn right. Katie is there in amongst the stables.

i used to have one like this, but i got rid of him when i purchased my swift mount. this was when you carried the bridle in your bag and bank slots were more expensive than now, so i couldn't justify multiple mounts. i always hated the ugly swift armored steed, but how could i live at 60% speed? when i hit Nagrand i ground out Kurenai rep for the swift war talbuk. still uglier than the regular talbuk, but much better looking than the stupid plated horse. this was also when you couldn't fly until level 70, so the grind was well worth it. many patches later i went back and bought the regular talbuk for the looks, and now i realize i need a black stallion to ride when i'm wearing my Haliscan hat, jacket, and pants!

I received this mount, last week, when I faction changed my lv.65 undead priest to a dwarf priest. At the same time I faction changed my lv.70 undead warrior to a dwarf warrior and received a ram. Who knows why?
