The best way to farm motes of any kind, and A LOT, is by skinning, and it's insanely easy and fast.
Here is how:
Learn the skinning profession and get at least 25 skill to start spend knowledge points. you won't need more than 50 knowledge points to maximize the motes yield.
Spend 10 knowledge points on Gainful Gathering and 40 on Dedicated Diffuser.
Now you can craft all 4 different diffusers, which can be used on skinnable targets.
Using a diffuser will put a debuff on the target that will add extra motes when you skin it.
Each diffuser will cost only 2 motes of the specific type and will yield 4-9 motes of the same type by skinning (If knowledge points spent correctly).
So basically, you don't need more than 2 motes of a type to start your farming that type.

Consumed on use
Target should be alive when using the diffuser and can be used in combat
You can use multiple kinds of diffusers on the same mob to get multiple kind of motes
Doesn't stack so only use 1 of each type on your target
It has a nice 30 yards range and will pull the mob on use
Can only be used on a skinnable target, so it you accidently use it on a non-skinnable target it will show an error - Creature is not skinnable

Lightbloom Diffuser - for extra Mote of Light
Primal Diffuser - for extra Mote of Primal Energy
Void Diffuser - for extra Mote of Pure Void
Wild Diffuser - for extra Mote of Wild Magic
