These arrows have a blue glow on them, both when loaded in your bow/crossbow, and during flight. Try them during Ragnaros (or another very large boss) for the best effect.

Best arrow you can buy, however if you are a engineer or know one you can have crafted a Thorium Bullets and converted into Thorium Arrows (A Fair Trade in Orgimmar, Arrows are for Sissies in Ironforge)

These are actually worth using for a non-hunter (since you don't really need the damage better arrows do), since they have this unique ice-glow which looks good when you fire them.

After the honor income has increased after 3.0 patch these are really easy to get for a lvl 51-60, took only few AV games to gather ~1000 honor which is more then enough for the arrows.

The arrows are 1 honor for a stack of 200 arrows; an important distinction that Wowhead doesn't seem to make.

Any other Raid members from the 2005-2006 era remember Ice-Threaded Arrows being used in Molten Core? They would have quite an effect on Molten Destroyers & Giants, it was quite funny. Well worth the gold purchase to get these sweet arrows, besides the not so subtle DPS increase!

The need for ammunition was removed in October of 2010, for Patch 4.0.1, thus making this item (and all other ammunition) useless.

In the past, 猎人s were required to devote one of their 4 bag slots to an ammo bag, to store ammunition. Failure to do so would result in the 猎人 being unable to shoot their weapon (弓, 弩, 枪械) and an error message (I can't remember exactly what it said but I think the durability figure also highlighted the figure weapon in red). Much like regular bags, these ammo bags varied in sizes; however, they could only contain ammunition.

All types of ammunition simply added DPS: the higher level/quality of the ammunition, the more DPS it could add.

As one could imagine, this process was highly expensive and bothersome: 猎人s had to spend chunks of their money on refilling their ammo bags, sacrifice game-time to refill (even in the middle of raids!) and farm reputation or hunt down various vendors/crafters to acquire the best ammunition. In addition, the ammo bags also required tight management of bag space to accommodate for all these arrows.

Luckily, quality-of-life improvements for 猎人s arrived in April of 2009, with Patch 3.0.1:

All types of gun and bow ammunition now stack to 1000 (up from 200). All quivers and ammo pouches no longer provide haste. 15% ranged haste is now built into the hunter’s 自动射击.

Following this change, Blizzard decided to further improve the situation a year later with Patch 4.0.1:

Guns, bows, and crossbows will now do damage without consuming ammunition at all. There will be no more ammo slot on the hunter’s character display. Any ammunition that a hunter has at the time of the change will become gray sellable items. Existing quivers will be converted into large bags. source
