Adds a Conduit you do not have learned to your collection, or upgrades a learned Conduit by one rank. If all Conduits are learned, the item will randomly upgrade one of your lowest rank Conduits.
This does not prioritize the upgraded conduit by loot spec. On my Paladin my lowest two were a holy and a protection conduit and using it upgraded the holy one by one rank (ilvl 158 to 171) despite being spec'ed into and having set my loot spec to prot.
I'm confused. Does this only upgrade Conduits you already learned? Wouldn't that mean that you don't want to learn Conduits you are probably not going to use, so this upgrades the ones you want instead?
Completely random, as implied. Not worth the 1,900 stygia unless your other Conduits are all the same rank, imho. This item incentivizes you to ignore Conduits for specs you're unlikely to play.
It will teach you one of the conduits you don't have as level 145 if you are still missing any conduits.
Used one and it added a conduit I didn't previously have "Stellar Inspiration" with an ilvl of 145. I had multiple ilvl 184 ones and two ilvl 145 ones. So, it didn't upgrade the existing low ilvl ones, but added a new low ilvl one.
How high will this upgrade conduits?
Posting this so no one else wastes Stygia on it: I don't know what I was expecting but the item gets consumed. So you're paying almost 2k Stygia for one random Conduit upgrade.
How high does this upgrade a conduit to? If you have all the conduits and they're all either 171 or 184, will it start randomly upgrading the 171s to 184? Or is 171 the max it can go to?
I purchased this item today with all conduits 184 or 200. It upgraded an 184 conduit (Light's Barding) to 200, so it does not appear to be "capped" beyond the current limit (presumably mythic equivalent).
Purchased several of these today. When purchasing the last one all my conduits were 200 or higher(the previous one upgraded the last 184) and I did not receive an item. It seems like it is capped at 200, Venari will take your currency and provide nothing.
All the information you need to know about
- It is sold by Ve'nari in The Maw for 1900 Stigia each.
- You need to have Cordial rank with Ve'nari to buy it.
- You must be at your Covenant's soulbind forge to use it.
- Loot spec does not matter when using this item.
- It is consumed on use.
The item works on a priority basis as follows:
- If you are missing any conduits it will teach you these first at item level 145.
- If you have any conduits at item level 145 it will upgrade these to item level 158 first.
- If you have any conduits at item level 158 it will upgrade these to item level 171 first.
- If you have any conduits at item level 171 it will upgrade these to item level 184 first.
- If you have any conduits at item level 184 it will upgrade these to item level 200 first.
- If you have all conduits at item level 200 or higher it will upgrade these to item level 213 first.
- If you have all conduits at item level 213 or higher it will upgrade these to item level 226 last.
Hope this helps.
This item was recently changed to unique, meaning you can only buy one at a time. I think this has something to do with other comments from users where the item didn't upgrade a conduit for them. This makes me believe that this item "checks" your conduits when you buy it, not when you use it. So if you previously bought 5 at one time for example and only 4 were at the lowest item level, then the fifth one would be wasted.
So I read all the comments here, and I thought I understood what this does pretty well enough. I have 5 conduits at 171(rare) and the rest are 184(epic) . So I bought an extra one of these because I figured ok cool, it will upgrade any of my current rare conduits to an epic at this point since I have none lower. I used it, I saw it highlight and flash one of my current rares but it remained 171 rare. I thought surely I didn't make a mistake and see blue when it was green, It was 100% a rare conduit because it was the last one I had obtained through a pvp WQ. Just to be sure, I went and purchased another fragment, and I used it. Once again I saw the same rare ilvl 171 conduit flash an upgrade, Nothing else upgraded. I have the same amount of rare/epic conduits as i did the previous time. I see people commenting that this should upgrade to at least 184 if you have all rare+ discovered.
So can someone tell me why nothing is being upgraded for me? does this truly only cap out at 171 rare?
The information that this item won't let you upgrade conduits past item level 200 is false. I had every conduit at 200 and I was able to buy this item and use it to get a random conduit upgraded to 213.
Just to add another bad feature to this item - you
sell it back if you buy it by accident. Ve'nari will not want the item back
The great thing about this is how it's unique...
Meaning you can't just mass buy them and upgrade several conduits at once, you have to run between maw and your covenant hall for every single one...
This item will indeed upgrade covenant-specific conduits (ex.
), source: self
I accidentally bought this instead of one of the other items. Ve'nari will
buy it back and refund your currency. I don't think I will want to use it for a long time, until all my conduits are reasonably high level. Caveat emptor!
I tried to delete the item, checked the item restoration tool, it works, but, the system only allows you to restore 1 duplicate unique item at a time per 7 days.
Don't do like me, don't buy 10 items just to delete them, then try to restore them all at once in order to rely on the mailbox and skip all the back and forth travel. This big brains play doesn't work.
Is this trash item the only way to upgrade the freaking world boss conduits?
If so blizz......gg. i hate you
I played only MM the entire time, I don't even know the abilities on survival and BM. Can't wait to upgrade all my BM and Survival conduits with 1900 stygia for each upgrade. Ty blizz
Really weird how this thing works. You think it would publish some kind of text or something saying what it did (did it upgrade one? Which one? Did it add a new one at lowest level? etc)
But it doesn't. Sometimes it's obvious what it did and you can see it, if you're watching closely. Sometimes it adds something you can't see currently (it's at the bottom of your scrolled off window) and it plain won't tell you and there is no way possible you could have seen it.
Like a lot of this xpac, feels rushed and unfinished.
These are a really inefficient way to get Conduits as you're likely to find one at a much higher level through wq's etc. I think it's just a stygia dump when there is nothing else to spend it on.
As far as I can tell, after you have upgraded one or several of your conduits with this, you can get the rest of your upgrades from calling chests. I'm not 100% sure how many are the prerequisite, or if one suffices, I only noticed, that I got conduit upgrades for level 200 out of the rare and epic tribute chests as some of them were 184 yet.
I just bought my first upgrade to 213, and will keep this updated when I have more information.
Edit1: (2 weeks) The sweet spot doesn't seem to be three upgrades bought with it. The 200 conduits might be locked to the item level from world quests instead (which is 194 for me currently, rounded up would be 200). I'll procure more Stygia though and will edit again once I know more.
Edit2: (3 weeks) So far it isn't six upgrades through this item either, so I'm more inclined to say that the conduits from the callings are influenced by world quest item level and not by how many conduits of x item level you already have. As far as I know the item level of world quests and random drops currently is capped at 194 (correct me if I'm wrong there), so the maximum item level of conduits you get through calling caches is 200. The rest of the upgrades are either 1900 Stygia each (costing you a whopping 38000 to upgrade all from 200 to 213, and again from 213 to 226) or you get some out of Nathria, heroic or mythic respectively.
This entire system is FUBAR. Designed for the daily grind. Mind you, you can't even spend too long in the maw. Torghast. No thanks. Then when you finally get enough and buy the token it's one at a time. Run back and forth to covenant.
Then here's the kicker... It upgrades a random one. One you probably don't even use for a spec you don't play.
Or to add insult to injury, it makes a green 145ish conduit... YOU DONT NEED.
I had 6k and bought one at a time. 3 chance and not one for MM.
Blizzard I get people need to grind, but at least let them grind towards what benefits them.
Blizzard has a bad habit of not explaining things correctly.
"Discover an upgrade to a random Conduit from among your lowest item level Conduits, up to item level 226."
But they aren't telling you is if you are missing a conduit it will give it to you at the lowest item level of 145.
So if you are thinking oh Ill only put important conduits in and have it randomly upgrade those, that will not work.
My accidental strategy - no guild - I am LFR / solo only and I will not be going Mythic:
Get all conduits to 200 through dailies, Dungeons, raiding etc
Save Stygia in Condensed Stygia items to avoid stress of losing it
Buy one - don't get your hopes up
it upgraded a conduit I was using to 213 which is higher than I've been able to get solo'ing
Checked wowhead, not the best conduit to use for my spec, changed them all round
One at a time is not a problem for me as I'm not going to have 3800 Stygia to spend
This doesn't appear to be random on the upgrades. I had all conduits to 200 through typical content, so I started buying these. it first upgraded my 4 finesse conduits, then two of my endurance one, both my off-spec. I expect the next upgrade to be another endurance off-spec upgrade. I imagine it will do all the endurance ones before finally hitting my potency conduits.
Another sadistic exercise by blizzard. Having to go back and forth buying one at a time is such fun.
Just to realize that of 6 i bought, all 6 went to offspec BS. Not a single one to spec and conduits i use.
Random yeah right. BS like this has to go
If you try to use this while having every conduit already at 226, you receive a unique error:
You have fully upgraded all of your Conduits.
Also, you can't refund it. Ouch!
Buying and using this item literally had me reprogram my brain about getting around in the Shadowlands.
Going to a dungeon? - Hey guys can you summon me?
About to do some callings? - Better jump in the hole.
Grabbing your weekly item from the vault? - Well you're also getting one of these.
Going to Oribos just to upgrade a item? - Not anymore.
Jokes aside, if you have a friend lock + mage friend that can summon you outside your covenant might be best to ask for a favor provided that you have the stygia.
Wasted 2k stygia on this crap in hope to upgrade a important conduit that was my lowest ilevel and got a green 146 conduit. So many false tooltips in this broken game. Beware.
EDIT: Blizzard now threatening to suspend my account since i've asked for a refund too many times(4). I said the day i stop opening the ticket is when i'm dead. The whole tooltip makes it a big scam and highly misleading. 1800 stygia is a lot to me cause i don't have time or sanity to do the dailys every single day and mostly stick to the weekly. So it's 2 weeks worth of stygia for me.
I've gone ahead and looked into what you're reporting here. As a side note - Super sorry I can't chat with you in-person! But right now your ticket has got my undivided attention.
I understand you had some concerns with the Unbound Reality Fragment. At this time there are no known bugs for this and the item is working as intended, In this situation customer support will not be able to refund the item.
This is our unified stance across the entire support team. We ask that you respect that decision as further request for this refund may lead to account suspension. "
Threatening to ban their players is a new one to me, haha.
Aparently the day of launch of 9.1 Chains of domination patch, vee´nari does not sell this item anymore, anyone know how can i buy? or this will be not necesary in this patch?
