Spawns 4 yellow ghostly dancers around you, and you get about 5s total to grab them all before they disappear - so you can't just wait until you have 1s left of the buff and chain, you need to eat them all right away
I CANT SEE #$%^
Just got this trinket yesterday and it seems really bad, at least for melee.
The ghosts appear in random locations and are very hard to see, especially in boss fights.
This thing is awful, I have it but refuse to use it because of how inconvenient it is, even as a ranged dps. Just not worth the headache, stick with basically anything else
The dancers are WAY too hard to see so I'm not getting any value out of this trinket. Consider anything else, especially if you're in melee.
This is horrible, got it from my weekly quest as a tank! and even if it is 213... I will probably switch to 171 trinket that actually does something, as a tank this is plain horrible design...
I got the heroic version from the weekly and was excited. That quickly faded. This is absolutely horrible design. I put my darkmoon card back on. This is trash. Fail, Blizzard, this is a fail.
Imagine when you are in m+ run, you are melle, tanks run every where, storming Is blasting around mombs and you should as melle collect all those shades...... Meh, thanks but not.... They should fly into you pro somtehing like that.....
Just delete this trinket, Blizzard. What a piece of crap.
This trinket spawns 4 dancers in a square around you. Each lasts about 3-4 seconds, they take about 4 seconds to all spawn.
By and large the consensus is that all of this movement to obtain your buff renders the trinket worthless. I beg to differ! As a shadow priest, I think this is an EXCELLENT item and have been putting up some savage parses with it. Here are a few tips and tricks I've picked up as a shadow priest, but I'm sure almost every other ranged class can make similar adjustments.
#1 - you can use this trinket pre-pull. Pop it with 6 seconds left and grab the last one JUST as you begin hitting the boss.
#2 - the dancers spawn in a square around you. Each dancer spawns 90 degrees clockwise (to your right) of the previous dancer.
As such, by turning 90 degrees after each dancer spawns, you can stack them all on top of each other!
#3 - as a shadow priest, I'll pop the trinket, cast a mind blast, turn 90 degrees after first one spawns, and start channeling Void Torrent (3 GCDs). By the time this is done casting, all 4 dancers have spawned. Because VoiT is channeled, I can turn all the way around and still hit the boss. As soon as VoiT ends, I'll cast an instant-cast spell while I'm picking up the dancers.
By spinning to stack the dancers, you can EASILY pick up all 4 of them in a single instant-cast global and go right back to turret DPS. This trinket requires way more effort to use than other trinkets, but I'm finding it to be a MUCH more useful item than general consensus. Especially for shadow priests with a super long channeled spell, it is very easy to stack the dancers. (What else are you thinking about while watching a 3 second channeled spell anyways?) If you have received this item, I recommend at least giving it a shot before dismissing it as trash.
another level of awsomeness ive run into that i havent seen mentioned: sometimes the dancers spawn ever so slightly up from the ground...not triggering when you just run them over, having to jump to trigger them...... super awsome :\
Just received this as Protection Spec loot. Don't bother. What a waste.
Played with it for a bit in some mythic keys, and I can say this trinket is absolute garbage for a tank.
They sometimes spawn above or below ground -can't collect the below ground ones and have to jump for the above ones. They spawn roughly 5yds away on any side of you -depending on which way you were facing when they triggered.
Overall, definitely not a tank trinket. Even though the haste and speed seems rather nice, there are just too many other things to focus on -not to mention much better offensive and defensive trinkets out there, to worry about searching for the dancers and having to reposition yourself and packs of mobs.
I wouldn't even recommend this for melee as the dancers were extremely difficult to see with most mob pulls and all the spell effects going on.
Got it on both of my alts from the weekly. Its completely unusable in any situation on my arms, even on my fire mage, my ret can sort of use it when i have divine steed up, but only in 1v1 pvp situations. Who the &*!@ has the time to collect 4 pairs of some mongoloid dancers while trying to dps, or even worse, pvp. The design of this trinket is absolutely horrible and i dont understand how it hasnt been reworked yet since people were complaining about this garbage since nathria released. And the fact that out of my 4 characters 2 got this &*!@ from the weekly, 1 got it from the previous heroic weekly, i sold it AND GOT IT AGAIN THIS WEEK is just buffeling. If blizzard increased the chances of you getting this garbage can of a trinket from the weekly... Like why... I thought blizzard improved and they no longer use the "forcefeeding" strategy.
TLDR: This trinket is the equivalent of 70 gold. Only use for this trinket that i can think of is
1. raid boss encounters
2. to increase your ilvl so you get accepted to pug m+ groups more often.
If you dont need that, congratulations you just did the weekly quest for like an hour and all you got for it is 70 gold from the vendor. Its a #$%^ing shame because this trinket would probably be bis for arms in pvp since the haste buff it provides is absolutely massive. This trinket needs to be reworked.
Epic version of Wakener's Frond... except worse.
It's name should be changed as 'Macabre Sh1t Music' to describe the usefulness of this trinket better.
While it's hard to see the dancers, this trinket is SUPER powerful once you get good at it. I hated it at first but now I love it.
So I got this twice in a row from weekly Time Walking chest. And now it's in the damn vault. Seriously, f**k this item.
Honestly a horribly designed and really annoying trinket, even as a Hunter I vastly prefer using nearly anything else to this. Oh it
well, but in practical use it's just a pain.
The dancers appear in a random pattern around you and are also not one step away, meaning you need to swing around in one global to really get everything for it. I tended to grab them all during a Steady Shot if I could. It can also lead to complications on movement or positioning-heavy fights like Sludgefist, where one move out of line can lead to death.
On top of everything else, I've also found the dancers you need to walk through to be rather buggy. More than a few times I've had one or more of the dancers bug out and not be absorbed no matter how I walked through them, which axes this trinket's DPS increase significantly.
Got the Denathrius trinket from my raid today and am never looking back. ^&*! this thing.
Stacking speed boost and huge Haste for 20s? People have to LEARN HOW TO USE IT properly, at least on pulls, you're not gonna hit it right on pull, but a few seconds before (if groups use /readycheck you should know this at least), so you have it at 100% on pull.
Just stand on clear floor before using it, ranged have a better time with this, but melee just have to pre-use it on pulls, and mid-fights, step back a bit, and look around your toon when using it. The 'pattern' they spawn, if you stand still the full spawning, is something like a cross of them around you, if you link them 2 by 2. You can make use of walls to 'stack (most of) them' so you grab (most) them at once.
