For those who are curious, this will fire all 5 bolts at one target if only one is available, giving it 5 stacks, and even if a target dies before the full 15 seconds, you do get a stack of the int buff on expiration per stack that expires.

This trinket's drop ability seems presently bugged. My first run our Demon Hunter received one, then the next run a Prot paladin (in prot loot spec) received one even though it is not in their loot tables. It does not in-game appear on the Resto Druid or Holy Paladin's loot table as of this evening. It is unclear what is happening with this trinket at the moment; I've reported it to Blizz so hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I am 'almost' 100% convinced this piece of loot is NOT on a Warlock's drop table. Check out my RaiderIO (Ghordon-Ghostlands).

What happens to the orbs if the debuff is on a target which becomes friendly (e.g. Droman Oulfarran in Mists of Tirna Scithe)?

Adding some extra info, as i could not find this in the comments:
If you use this on 5 different targets (by luck) and the target die on different time stamps - it WILL extend the duration of the int buff, meaning that you will be able to (theoretical) to keep extending your int buff for additonal second, until the debuff expires on all target.

EXAMPLE:
Sire denathrius fight (Castle Nathria) - When sire spawn Echos in P1 - you should click this trinket... It will then add the dot to Sire + some of the adds... These adds die instantly and thereby buff your int (?+ per stack on dying add) and then when the 12 seconds has passed on Sire, the int buff will be extended to 15 sec again.

NOTE- I tested this on normal mobs in shadow lands, so anyone might should test this on sire.

as of 9.1 The Empyreal Ordnance trinket now puts other on-use trinkets on a 40 second cooldown when used (was 20 seconds).

Using this in a Mythic with the encrypted affix will cause it to bug. When the relics that aren't killed despawned, the dot vanishes and you won't gain any int.
