Hunters rejoice! now we can coat our weapons with poison too! Well sort of, it's a buff that does nature damage over time. I got it while leveling and when it hit, it would do around 6%-10% of my damage. proc rate is high.
More testing will be required.

Update: Got a Mythic 4 - ilvl 207 version of this and it ticks for 337 damage pet tick for me, my versatility is 212 which is 5.30% on me. (The tooltip is not correct, as other have mentioned.) Also to note, the damage scales with your versatility. Proc rate is very high and is almost always up.

Its like having another weapon enchant or a buff on you, that does X amount of nature damage. It's a solid trinket, but remember to always sim your gear.

Its a good dps increase for me based on sim and in game testing.

yes, the mythic version seems bugged. it does way less damage than the heroic version, which is around 5% of my overall damage, while the mythic version only does 1-2%.
the tooltip on the item says 669 damage, the buff only shows 180 damage.

The mythic version is bugged in a few ways as mentioned previously:

The buff on the player states 180 damage over 6 seconds. This would happen in 2 3 second ticks, 90 damage each.

The buff on the Enemy varies with vers etc. but personally I tend to see 238 damage every 3 seconds, or 476 damage over 6 seconds. This is like 70% of the advertised damage, and the proc rate is 'okay' but judging by the figures others are reporting, the trinket should be proccing more.

Using another on Use trinket while the buff is applied will not remove the buff making it viable to use another on use trinket with this one.
However,
Moving the trinket between slots or putting it in your inventory will remove the buff however.

The normal version might have the same bug as the mythic, as it too describes 180 dmg on the buff tooltip.

For rogues this behaves like an extra poison. It's not on a global cooldown and doesn't have a cast time, which means it's easily macroable with your regular poisons

For sub/outlaw:

For any remaining Assassination rogues out there, in my testing the heroic version of Flayedwing Toxin's damage was not increased by Shiv's 20% buff to nature damage--it never deviated from 229 damage per tick. Whether or not this is intended, I don't know. So far it hovers at around 50% uptime on a single target for me, and does appreciable damage, so those of you looking for a solid trinket pre-Nathria, look no further as it can (on a long enough timeline) be farmed by spam queueing for Necrotic Wake.

got this from the vault, mythic 8 216ilvl. item says 1,116 over 6 secs. debuff on enemy says 428 every 3 secs, details showing ticks of 423, meaning its only doing about 75% of advertised damage. bugged? its generally 4-5% of my total damage in a run.

As everyones says it seems to be bugged. Idk... to start with, buff doesn't show the same damage as the tooltip. I got the 223ilvl version ("1251 damage in 6 secs proc") and buff says 180p/sec.
I've tried it several times in 40-45secs opening rotation as a hunter. At the end of the combat, Skada showed poison damage was between 2%-2,5% with 10 and more ticks within those 40 secs (485 damage/tick). So... i guess it is worth cause it procs a lot but maybe it would be more noticeable in longer combats. What I can say is that It is not as bad as I thought it'd be after reading some comments, in fact I'm really liking it

As of January 26th this trinket ilvl 207 does 3 ticks in 6 secs (1 per 2 secs) of 333/334 doing total of 999/1000 damage (min/max).

Tooltip of the trinket says: Use: Coat your weapons in Flayedwing Toxin for 1 hour, giving your attacks a high chance to deal 960 Nature damage over 6 sec. (20 sec Cooldown)

The buff says: Flayedwing Toxin (Poison) Suffering 333 Nature damage every 3 secs.

This means that somehow (Im a Shammy) the dot can be buffed by spellpower/nature damage factors.

While using it makes the dot increase to 400 each tick. It means it increases 333*1,20=399,6 exactly the 20% of the spell.

Beside all the reports of the bugged tooltips, theres an even worst bug with this trinket: the dot won't crit! (bug reported, normally dots always have a chance to critically hit. Meaning the simulated dps is much higher on paper than it really is right now)

I got this today, 216ilvl - says 1,116 damage over 6 sec. Tested on a Boss target dummy, it does 1.2k per application. I got 6.75% versa, seems correct 1116 x 1.0675 = 1192dmg.

But 精通：增强元素 have no effect on this trinket.

I'm noticing that every time this damage procs, the duration of the buff is reset to 60 minutes.

The buff disappears if you die.
Seems rather pointless to have this as an on-use trinket, especially considering that the other trinket with a dot is entirely passive.

P.S. It might even be considered punishing since we could forget to activate it.

Extremely underwhelming 229 ilvl trinket on MM Hunter. Around ~1.7% total dmg, while a 200 ilvl Hateful Chain does double than that. SAD! Small indie company

sims rather high for survival for some reason even though kill command doesnt seem to trigger it and maybe other attacks too?
