Since i've not seen any comments about how to actually bind it, you have to channel the ring with the player you're going to bind your ring to, and they have to channel their ring before your channel ends to bind it. There appears to be no cooldown after it's bound, you can switch it again with anyone anytime.

EDIT: The tooltip of the ring says the bind duration is one week, but when we tried it during our raid we were able to re-bind repeatedly, so it seems to currently be bugged in that aspect :)

The binding is obviously meant for the raid's tanks: though no effective heal (it's a swap) this will allow tanks to support each other when one is tanking more than the other. At 415 it's an effective 1k swap per second, but as it's only ticking every five seconds the effect is somewhat minor and unlikely to be of real significant value. As such, my guild (of which I'm raid leader and a tank) decided not to prioritize the ring for the tanks as it's still a full budgeted haste/versatility ring. Other roles will have to be wary about binding the ring: it's probably advisable to bind the ring to a similar role (healers, melee and ranged) as the pressure among roles tends to be the same at particular parts of a fight, and you don't risk putting the partner at risk of sacrificing health before a big damage spike comes in.

Currently this item will break stealth if it procs the health transfer and makes you take damage. Noticed that after binding it to one of my mythic dungeon friends...
