Hmm saw in Bellular's video on 8.1 that the 7th Legion Quartermaster had it in Boralus but its not there.
Yeah same, its not part of the inventory.
I tweeted to the devs about this. They took it out temporarily due to a bug:
It's gone again.
Can someone please comment if using this unlocks FP on KT/Z for all characters on an account, or just on the character that consumes the item?
Any particular benefit to this being unique? Most people are clearly just going to be one of them for every alt that doesn't have all Flight Points. Making it unique just means that you have to go vendor -> mail box -> vendor -> mail box etc. Just makes it unnecessarily annoying.
Edit: After buying 27 of them and posting them out to all my alts I discovered
the item does not get consumed when you use it
. That would be why it is unique. So even if it is only 80 gold, note that you only need to buy one in total for all your alts.
I would love to know WHICH of the "several flight paths" this thing give you. I click on it, and it made a sound, but gave no text indicating which FP's I learned. Also, do we really need to send this things to all the characters on our account and have each one click it, or do we just click it once and then all character have the flight paths?
This is BoA, but not heirloom, so it can not be accessed in that tab. Must mail to each alt that can get to the beginning flightpath in your faction's BFA starting zone. Tested checking "No known flightpaths" used item then could xhoose all except those connected to questlines.
I tested it out on a character that I had yet to collect any flightpaths on. And it turns out this item gives basically all flightpoints in both zones (Except those that are part of the campaign / quests)
Obviously this only proves it for alliance (I'll test it on a fresh horde character some other time, but I'd expect it to be the same case)

Oh, and for those wondering, I leveled entirely with Island Expeditions / Dungeons. This character never left Boralus before this little adventure.
Also worth mentioning about this item is that it's boa and it's not consumed on use (as others have pointed out as well), so don't buy 50 of them and send them to all your characters. Just buy 1 ... And send it to all your characters.
Speaking of which. There's already other items similar to this one in the game, but for other zones, but they are classed as toys, so you don't need to spam send them around (Not entirely sure why it's not the case for this one) :
Also also worth mentioning!
This item automatically transforms into
if you send it over to a horde character. Again I'm assuming it's the same deal if you mail it from a horde to an alliance character
EDIT :: - So I used this on a horde character as well and got basically all flightpoints in Zandalar as well (didn't check anything in Kul'Tiras on this character as I haven't gotten to that yet):
Only leveled in Nazmir:
Got flightpoints in Zuldazar / Voldun:
This is NOT a consumable.
Interestingly, this item will convert to it's counterpart when mailed to alts in the opposite faction:
Hoping they'll make it into a toy further down the line.
At the time of writing, there is no level restriction on the item.
Why didn't they just make this a toy like the ones for Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor? Blizzlogic.
Not consumed on use.
This item now shows up in
's wares even if you're ineligible to purchase it. If the item is "locked" for you, you need to complete
to be allowed to buy it.
Okay, so I like having the new flight paths at least for inbound flights, but if you try and use it for outgoing flights that are quest gated then it doesn't work. This is annoying. Do we get the flight paths or not.
If you buy this one does it give you all the same flight paths as the scouting reports Jaelaana sells?
Discover means you can now fly there? Meaning if you walk there you won't see a green exclamation point, rather the flight port icon. Would be nice if it told you which one you just discovered by using this.
I don't get this? How hard is it to just get the fp's yourself? I thought maybe it gave you some fp's you couldn't get any other way.
I really don't get the point of this at all.
The tracking quest whether a char has already used this is 54705. Do with this information what you will.
Seems to be bugged. I have unlocked pathfinder 2 on my main, bought and mailed it to an alt, used OK. then mailed to another alt, and that other alt gets an error "You can't use that item". Annoying.
When my level 10 toon got it, it says I can't use it? Why?
As of Shadowlands it seems to require either level 50 to use, or enough questing/reputation to unlock the vendor on the character that wants to use it. I was able to buy it at level 35ish and use it, but by that time I already had flying so it wasn't super useful.
I don't really understand this change, as it would be most of use for your alts who are below level 30 and can't fly yet.
Seen some historic comments abotu being able to fly to the discovered flightpath locations but not use the flightpath there if the questline has not been done.
On my Level 52 alt who has never even been to Zandalar before I used the map and then flew to several different flightpaths and once arriving I was able to use a
which was a generic scroll not an actual NPC, to fly out also. Or the actual NPCs in some camps already, the Allicance ones for me.
So you are able to use the flightpaths now, which may be due to being level 50+ I can not say but was really helpful when exploring without flying yet.
Weird I bought the horde version of this on my shaman and send it to alt and could use it But alliance one you can't use it
Just used this on my lvl 60 alt and it consumed the item?
Not sure if this is a change or a bug as previously it was an heirloom that you could use and pass between alts.
I know this item is no longer as good considering the new Scouting Map toy but its still annoying...
With patch 9.1.5, THE MAP IS NOW ONE USE ONLY. Make sure you send it to alts that haven't "learned" the flight path locations. Now, if you click on it, IT DISAPPEARS.
I just mailed this to one of my chars and when the char used it the map poofed. it seems that is now a one use item
Be warned, I knew I had several across alts, and wanted to send one to my Vulpera. Whelp, I was dumb enough to click on it on the character holding it. Despite already knowing the flightpaths, this item was CONSUMED and disappeared from my bags. No, it's not a toy. It's just GONE. I've opened a ticked asking for restoration, but not optimistic. I am so tired of how sloppy devs are with an already (at best) mediocre game.
