On the Beta realm these are all over and appear to pop in the same spots where other herbs spawn. I have a couple of go-to areas I've been farming for herbs and I've found these in rotating spawns with 海潮茎杆 and 流波花苞. When you collect the nodes they often (not always) respawn with the other herb although sometimes you get more anchor weed.

While leveling, I've found more Anchor Weed in Drustvar than Stormsong Valley. They seem to appear near the straits/river where 流波花苞s are found.

Anchor Weed seems to be a rare spawn that can take the place of Sea Stalk, Riverbud, Akunda's Bite, and Winter's Kiss. I'm assuming this because I have seen it in places where these typically are found, but I have not seen it in typical Siren's Sting or Star Moss spawn locations.

Basically, it seems any herb growing from the ground has a chance to spawn as Anchor Weed.

Just above Gol Kovul, there is an area with a huge number of Winter's Kiss with a high respawn rate. There are a lot of mobs, but if you're decently geared, you can run around with a Sky Golem and farm about 50 Winter's Kiss, plus all the Anchor Weeds that pop up, take a break to heal then do it all again.

In my experience as a scribe, milling these don't seem to be producing much Viridescent Pigment compared to other herbs, I would advise just selling/auctioning these if you have Inscription.

After gathering 1k+ anchor weeds i can say something.

-At rank 3 you can get between 3 to 5 anchor weeds. Never had more than 5. After hotfix can drop up to 7 anchor weeds
-It can respawn from Winter's Kis, Riberbud, Sea Stalk and Akunda's Bite
-Respawn chance is very very low, i even think it's around 2-3%

Farming Starlight Rose in Legion was much better :D

After the Auction House "fix" it now costs 10.000 gold to put 100 single stack Anchor Weeds for 500 gold each, in deposit fees, and it scales with your buyout price up towards 100.000 gold deposit fees if you list 100 of the herb for 10.000 gold each. It also also the only item so far where I have seen this happen.

Conclusion, keep an eye out before posting or you could end up losing some serious money

Your alchemist alts will love this if you send it to them (look at the Reagent For tab -- they need it!).
Even better sell it on the AH if you can't use it yourself. On my realm I have 13 I've farmed this evening and market value is 10k gold for just 13.
I concur with Druitz. Appears to respawn in places where ground herbs spawn.
I've been fishing in one spot in Vol'Dun outside of Bonetrail Gulch (where I've picked up the 13) in the space of about two hours just catching them as they respawn around me. I'm fishing on the coast.

The herbalist trainer describes it this way in the 更多锚草种荚 quest.
"Everyone in Kul Tiras knows that anchor weed is a blight that was brought here by merchants.
It thrives in this weather and it leechs nutrients from other plants, so we work to keep it from spreading, but it also has a strong magical essence, keeping us from just eradicating it.
However, if it has mutated so it can disperse more seeds, we may need to finally purge it.
Bring me the biggest seed pods you can find, we need to see if this is a unique case. I'll dissect this one and learn what I can."

After the recent hotfix on Sept 24th I went out herbing with a buddy of mine. From what we can tell so far rank 2 is now rewarding 4-5 anchor weed per node while rank 3 is giving about 6-7 per node. Not certain if theres any more variance but from the multiple nodes we each farmed these were pretty consistent numbers.

Drop rate was increased for some ranks in the September 24 2-18 Hotfix in response to concerns over high cost of raiding potions/ flasks, with Rank 2 & 3 dropping more Anchor Weed per gather;

Herbalists will now receive more Anchor Weed from nodes at rank 2 and 3.

Increased drop rate appears to be:

Rank 2 = 3-5 per gather
Rank 3 = 4-7 per gather

Something wrong with this weed in the latest patch. Farm for 3 hours today and just found 2. The "appearance" rate is painfull low.

Anchor weed, is painfully broken for those who craft. The rate was 1-30 or 1-40 nodes pre 8.2. Now I would say it is 1-80 or more of finding anchor weed. Whether you take routes or just hope to run into it.
I do not farm for profit, but I am a huge crafter. I prefer to gather all of my own stuff, and craft what I need. I am not gathering just for gold to buy crazy stuff, but to outfit my 3 toons i play.
C'mon blizzard please make anchor weed bind on account or at least allow enough of it, to be bind on account so that those who actually craft for themselves can still exist.

Anchor Weed is a rare spawn from BfA ground herbs. In order to see more Anchor Weed, other herbs need to be picked for it to spawn in its place.

Spawning Nodes: 流波花苞, 海潮茎杆, 阿昆达之噬, 凛冬之吻
NOT Spawning Nodes: 星光苔, 海妖花粉

Initially when first being able to farm Anchor Weed you will only get 1-2 herbs per node gather, however learning higher ranks will increase the amount of herbs gathered from a single node, therefore increasing the rate at which you can collect them.

锚草: Obtained from completing 探求更多知识 | 探求更多知识. Awards the ability to gather 3-5 herbs per node.
锚草: Obtained from completing 更多锚草种荚 | 更多锚草种荚. Awards the ability to gather 4-7 herbs per node.

NB: For horde looking to complete 锚草, below level 120 you will not be able to queue for Waycrest Manor (Normal) through LFG. Alliance however can queue for it from level 110.

I've been making dozens and dozens of flasks over the last few weeks for some cash - The other components are (relatively) easy to find but Anchor Weed has always been a major pain. I am totally embarrassed to say that I didn't know that there is a daily alchemy transmute for Anchor Weed. 转化：草药到锚 gives you 10 (and occasionally a few bonus ones) each day. And I have 4 alchemists. *sigh*. All of the time I wasted farming Anchor Weed that I could have just been transmuting some simple-to-gather herbs. Needless to say, my time has now been cut way down for flasks to sell. I spend 60 minutes every few days gathering the base mats for the transmutes and.. voila, 40 Anchor Weeds per day. If you haven't found this.. Now's the time!

I know this farm has been out for awhile but I thought I'd share my route, addons and tips for farming Anchor weed in Tiragarde Sound!

Now I can't speak for everyone, but I've really felt a decline in my gold farming ever since the CoronaVirus Pandemic locked many people indoors. My Anchor Weed farm used to make as much as 30,000 gold per hour but recently it has dropped to as low as 10,000 gold per hour. Yikes!
So before doing this farm I recommend that you check the local average prices of Anchor weed on your own realm. Personally I find this farm worth doing if the price is 50g+ per Anchor Weed.

So before getting started, you're gonna need Anchor Weed at Rank 3 for this farm to be remotely worth doing. I also highly recommend the following addons. GatherMate2, GatherMate2_Data, Routes and FarmHud. These addons work together to populate an efficient Anchor Weed flight path through Tiragarde Sound that looks something like this. If you are having trouble setting up the addons please check my video for instructions.

Once you're setup you're going to need to join an anchor weed group or make one. Make sure that your warmode matches the group you're joining (usually WM is ON). Another important tip is to make sure that everyone has raid assistant. You are going to need it to notify others that you have found an Anchor Weed with.

Now for the easiest part :) Fly around and look for Anchor Weed. Make sure you have Monel-Hardened Stirrups. They allow you to collect mining and herb nodes while mounted. Another optional consumable I like to sometimes get is Darkmoon Firewater. It gives you quite a nice boost to gathering speed if you don't have a relevant gathering racial.

When looking for Anchor Weed its important to watch out for raid warnings from your party members indicating that they've found an Anchor Weed. When this happens rush over to them and WAIT for all party members to arrive. Once everyone has arrived. Loot! :) Usually the person who found it starts the looting process. A maximum of ten people can loot one node so make sure everyone gets to loot before spreading out again.

If you find an Anchor weed just "/RW ON ME" usually does the trick. I also like to place a raid marker so that its easy for them to spot where I am on the ground. Once everyone gets there, loot it and resume the hunt :)

Just noting when the various Rank 2 quests unlocked.
These are the quests for Alliance. It is the same skill levels for Horde, but the quests are from 贾登·弗拉.

At skill level:
25 - 草药学技术：流波花苞（等级 2） from 紧急移植 given by 德克兰·塞纳尔
50 - 草药学技术：阿昆达之噬（等级 2） from 回归自然 given by 帕图 (have to kill lvl 120 mobs), quest chain starts with 恶臭的收获, also from 帕图**
50 - 草药学技术：海潮茎杆（等级 2） from 文化意义 given by 德克兰·塞纳尔
50 - 草药学技术：海妖花粉（等级 2） from 名师出高徒 given by 德克兰·塞纳尔, quest chain start with 被花粉覆盖的蜜蜂遗体, drops from 海妖之刺
50 - 草药学技术：星光苔（等级 2） from 灵魂不灭 given by 德克兰·塞纳尔
50 - 草药学技术：凛冬之吻（等级 2） from 肚饿不上课 given by 荀·甘蕾, quest chain starts with 与甘蕾见面 given by 德克兰·塞纳尔
100 - 草药学技术：锚草（等级 2） from 探求更多知识 given by 德克兰·塞纳尔

**A breadcrumb quest for the Akunda's Bite chain 非同寻常的导师 is given by 德克兰·塞纳尔 when you reach level 120, as the final quest requires you to kill level 120 mobs.
