+10% heal crits effect applies to atonement as well.
I got these on my warrior with loot specialization set to Arms. Not sure what use I would have with it but I gave it to the healer.
This cape adds a 210% increase on heal when it's critical instead of normal 200%.
Not 220% (200%*1.1). But it's still very good for rdruids.
For a Demon Hunter tank, this cloak does affect your selfhealing by the specified amount. As a decent geared tank, I have 30% crit chance. Of our selfheals, only Soul Cleave and Consume Soul seem to be able to crit. Other such as Leech or Fel Devastation cannot crit and thus cannot benefit from this cloak.
So 30% of the time your selfheals will crit and in those times you will get a bit more heals. It's nothing to write home about but it's better than nothing.
Obviously give this to your healer in case they don't have it though. It's immensely more useful to a healer.
This is the Best in Slot cloak for a Holy Paladin, since it is common to crit with their heals. The 10% extra healing on crit heals, which means you get 210% of that heal means this cloak's special ability is worth about 15 item levels of healing power, so to get a better cloak than this at 855, you would need at least a 875 cloak for a possible upgrade (assuming it has crit on it).
edit: This can drop for dps specs, as well as healers.
Nerfed to 5% in patch 7.2, however you probably still want to have it, especially with karazhan being available as mythic+ dungeon and thus high ilvl drapes of shame becoming farmable.
the effect on this item is being cut in half, i.e. from 10% to 5%. Just a heads up to those looking to acquire this item.
Just received a ilvl 930 Mythic 15 Titanforged (1615 agi, 2422 stam, 386 crit, 654 vers) out of my Mythic 15 weekly chest, too bad it was on my DH and not my holy Paladin :( Another guild member received the same cloak at the same time, not sure if his was titanforged.
For reference with the current build this increases the TOTAL HEALING of you heal when you Crit by 5% making this roughly equal to a 10% critical heal effect (which would only increase the additional healing) this might seem like a moot point but it means your heal will be MUCH stronger in situations where a Crit heal is only a heal for 150% and tremendously strong when your heals are being reduced by a % modifier (especially when the coding is multiple negative modifiers since a single positive modifier will erase a ton of them due to mulplicatives interactions) or your healed target has: Stagger, is using a powerful flat damage reduction ability, OR is using an increased healing received ability.
This slight difference also means VASTLY more throughout on a heal that is being increased by a self buff OR a before the fact debuff (so interaction can be a little wonky with some common healer passives).
Best throughput on healers with direct healing increase mastery or any Crit stacking healer in general, Terribly strong on Druids and resto shamans due to gaurnteed Crits. But keep in mind if you have a cloak that yield enough additional intellect(and versatility) to increase your TOTAL healing by 5% only then would this item be eclipsed. (If you aren't going a Crit heal build then that figure becomes just enough for 2.5% all healing increase.)
Competing legendaries aside.
Drape of Shame is quite an apt name for this cloak.
Got this as 910 Relinquished today as a Assassination Rogue. But it seemingly has no effect on me. Why am I getting a healer cloak as a Rogue? I am confused Blizzard. Really confused, lol.
This makes critical heals heal for 205% of base heal, not 210% as I originally assumed.
This means that for example, if you character's crit chance is 20%, your hps will roughly improve by 20% * 5% = 1%.
Note that some comments refer to "210%", but those were all posted before the 7.2 patch, when the effect was nerfed from 10% to 5%.
So this was in my frost mages vault today... better than the 285 I had equipped but seems silly (or shameful I guess lol) putting this in a mages vault.
Note that this makes your heal crits 3%
It doesn’t effect crit chance.
