This weapon did not make it to live

This weapon is one of many that can be obtained from invasion scenarios in the Legion pre-launch event.

The weapons can be obtained from the 小型军团箱子 (from the 2nd stage of an invasion) or from 大型军团箱子 (from the 4th stage of an invasion). This is NOT a guaranteed drop, but a chance to be found in these chests.
This weapon will be item level 700, but can be upgraded to a maximum of 725 with 凝结邪能.

This upgrade item will be sold by 被俘的虫语者, who can be found in the Illidari camps in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. The sell price will be 150 虚空碎片s each.
Note that each 凝结邪能 will upgrade a weapon by 5 item levels. This means you will need a total of FIVE 凝结邪能 to upgrade your weapon from ilvl 700 to 725 (at a total cost of 750 虚空碎片s).

All invasion weapons will be Bind-On-Pickup, except for 堕落者战刃, which will be Bind-On-Account.
The weapons will drop based on loot specialization - therefore only certain weapons will drop for a specific character.

When are the invasions coming?

The Legion invasions (and 恶魔猎手 early access) arrived August 9, 2016 (US) and August 10, 2016 (EU). The will continue until August 30, 2016 when Legion launches, and will progressively become more frequent until that point.

Below is a complete list of the invasion-exclusive weapons that can be found in the 大型军团箱子/小型军团箱子. Some of them have very unique models!

Note that 堕落者战刃 is the only weapon that is available from the 虚空碎片 vendor, 被俘的虫语者. It will be sold for 100 虚空碎片s.

The order of weapons shown is: 2H Sword, Dagger (0:15), 1H Axes (0:29), 1H Maces (1:25), 1H Swords (1:57), Polearm (2:24), Staves (2:39), 2H Mace (3:12), Bow (3:24), Wand (3:40), Warglaive (3:54).
Note that some of these models are for weapon variations that were not ultimately implemented.

Invasion Scenarios

There will be 6 different invasion events during the pre-launch patch. After the invasions start, they will become more and more frequent as we get closer to the launch of the expansion (August 30, 2016).
Each invasion is a scenario entered by anyone that moves into the invasion area, and has 4 stages. There is a progress bar for Stages 1 and 3 which is zone-wide - you will see how close you are to the next stage. Stage 2 and 4 have boss objectives, and completing these will complete the stage.
Note that the invasion instance you enter may already be in progress, with potentially a stage or stages completed already.
The stages are below:

Stage 1 - Defend against a general invasion point (e.g. Orgrimmar Rear Gate). Mobs are fairly trivial in nature, although numerous.
Stage 2 - Defeat two lieutenants and a commander. The commander spawns after the lieutenants are killed. These bosses hit pretty hard, so DPS and healers have to watch threat.
Stage 3 - Defeat the invading forces marked on the map - a zone-wide objective, with various activities that will advance the progress bar:

There are mobs to kill, of various sizes and strengths. These can be found at invasion points, marked on the map.
There are protected "Legion Structures" also marked on the map. You must kill the mobs protecting the structures; doing so will make the Protected Fel Crystals attackable. When the crystals are destroyed, the structure collapses.
There are various mini bosses scattered around the zone during this phase. These hit pretty hard, so ideally they need to be tanked or kited. These mini bosses often drop 虚空碎片s, so it's worthwhile helping to kill them! They are marked on the map with skulls.

Stage 4 - Defeat a boss NPC at the original invasion point (requires a group). These bosses hit VERY hard and have some abilities that will kill you if you do not avoid them (e.g. breath mechanics - make sure to stand behind the boss!)

Some other miscellaneous notes:

Zones that have active invasions are marked very clearly on the world map. Note that only zones in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms are involved.

Mousing over the invasion icon will show you a timer, indicating how much time is left in the invasion, so that you can get there.

Entering a zone with an active invasion will put you into a scenario instance. There will be multiple instances going on at one time, so arriving at any point while the invasion is active will allow you to participate.
There are various vehicles you can use to assist you during the invasion (e.g. Demolishers, Glaives). These usually have a few abilities that will do area damage to mobs.
Most of the mobs killed for the invasions do not drop anything, although minibosses do. The shards/chests that are rewarded go into your bags automatically (even if you are dead when the appropriate stage is completed).

Rewards from the invasion are as follows:

Stage 1 - Nil.
Stage 2 - 小型军团箱子, which will contain 5 虚空碎片, guaranteed iLevel 700 Fel-Touched Gear*, and a chance for iLevel 700** weapons, with very unique models.
Helping to kill the minibosses during this stage will reward more 虚空碎片s (5-10 extra).
Stage 3 - 10 虚空碎片 at the end of the stage. Additionally, mini-bosses during this stage drop 虚空碎片s (reportedly 5-15). Therefore, killing these can net you a much higher yield than any other stage!
Stage 4 - 大型军团箱子, which will contain 10 虚空碎片, guaranteed iLevel 700 Fel-Touched Gear*, and a chance for iLevel 700** weapons, with very unique models.

TOTAL: 25-80+ 虚空碎片 per invasion

*This armor is the same armor that makes up the 4 transmog armor ensembles available for 200 虚空碎片. If you are wanting only the transmog appearances and not the gear, collecting it piece-by-piece from these chests will be presumably much slower than buying the Ensemble.
**These weapons can be upgraded to iLevel 725 using 凝结邪能, which will also be available during the pre-launch event

Completing a single invasion rewards the achievement 反抗军团.
Completing 6 of the invasions (as listed below) will reward 艾泽拉斯保卫者：军团入侵

The above achievements will be Feats of Strength (similar to 关闭裂隙 from the Cataclysm pre-expansion event) that will not be obtainable after Legion launches.

Another Feat of Strength that will be exclusively available during the Legion pre-launch event is 原来如此 (collect all 12 of the pamphlets from Doomsayer NPCs in Orgrimmar/Stormwind).

All I'm getting are 1H maces on my casters and those are useless since there's no OH items available.

Can anyone please confirm that this actually drops? And if so one what class/spec. I have gotten over 40 boxes between my 2 Mages, Boomkin, Spriest. I've gotten the 2 wands, 1 1h int mace, and 1 1h int sword. But not a single staff. Thank you in advance.

Edit: These are the only weapons out of the initial 20 listed that actually made it into the game.

For those farming tmog, keep in mind this does have the exact same model as the horde staff from the Broken Shores scenario.

One of two items from the invasion event I'm not in a rush to get, the other being the Wrathguard Shortblade. Since it is the same model as the one given from the Broken Shore quest.

Somewhat annoyed that Blizzard didn't try.

It is worth getting on your alliance toon, this model copied the reward from horde, not alliance. Alliance can't use the horde transmogs. So if you have an alliance character you want the red staff on, get this.

Have now looted 5 wands! I have all the cloth armour, but I'd like this staff. Only one person saying "they know a guy" who got this. Has anyone else of any class looted this?

Actively running invasions on a Warlock and my Mage, and occasionally on a mid-70's Priest. No staff yet. I've gotten the caster mace. A couple wands. Three swords. No staff.

If it's really deprecated AND Blizzard neglected to include a caster offhand and tank/caster shield, that's some serious bs.

If you look at the same appearance tab you find the same staff appearance is a quest reward for the horde part of the broken shore scenario, it was said on the forum though this weapon was datamined as level700 version it supposedly has not made it to the live servers.... but I have no confimation for or against this statement....

As for collecting the appearance you need a horde caster char do the broken shore scenario....

I have now opened 100 boxes across 12 lvl 100 characters. I have gotten every weapon except the 1h agility sword and the staff. I am giving up as they appear to not be in the game

Thanks for following up with us here at Blizzard Entertainment's Customer Support Center about the petitioned issue. Just so we're on the same page, it looks like the Staff of Inquisition is not dropping from the Legion Invasion event. Well, let's see what we can find!

After doing a heavy dose of research, I was able to pick something up. As it stands, we have gotten several reports about the Staff of Inquisition and how it's nowhere to be found. We were able to confirm that this is actually a bug and is being worked on by our QA and Development Staff as we speak. What I highly recommend is to Submit a Bug Report (https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/4300043), that way your report gets added to the list of other reports regarding this issue; speeding up the process bit by bit. However, other than this, we have no other information regarding this issue.

The best thing to do is check our BlizzCS Twitter page (https://twitter.com/BlizzardCS) to check for any hotfixes to this, as well as the community forums (http://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/1012660/).

Finally got a final confirmation today from a GM that the staff not dropping is indeed a bug and will be fixed in a future patch! I included screenshot proof that confirms this.

(The first GM that contacted me said that it was "working as intended" and wanted me to keep farming the blue crates)

CONFIRMED FROM BLIZZARD THE STAFF DOES DROP: They said if you are not getting it to submit a in-game bug or ticket.

Anyone who talks to Blizzard about this, and if they say it does drop. please ask them what specs it drops for, presuming I can respec. for a warlock (who has always used staffs and would want to continue to) because I only want a 2H intellect weapon.

Edit. My warlock just had a 2nd Eredar Battle Blade drop. I'm going to stop doing invasions on this alt until the issue of not dropping a usable weapon is resolved.

After farming for days, decided to check with the GMs. This was their response:

The Fel staff does not drop from the lootboxes from the Invasions.

I hope that this response has resolved your petition! If it hasn't, feel free to select Need More Help. Be sure to provide as much information about what is going on as possible. :)

I tried to read all the comments but i didn't get to them all, but I am very confused because i am reading some stuff with screen shots of GMs saying the staff was removed and is not in game, and other posts saying it is some sort of bug and it does drop. I was looking to get this on my S priest but many many many boxes, armor, and coalesced fel later, still no staff, but I did however get the wand on both my priest and my warlock. So I opened a ticket to try and see if a GM could confirm anything about the staff... and here is what I was told on 8/16/16 I marked the section where he confirmed to me not only was it in game, but one of his friends had "gotten the staff just last night" for his toon "so they are in there for sure"

Apparently it can drop according to a GM.

I know for my part, that this is not true. 1 drop after almost 2 weeks? Hell, that doesn't make the count.
We either gotta wait until this 'bug' is fixed or have to live with how it's 'supposed to be'.

I know it's sad and all, but we just have to accept how it is and live with it, doing more research won't change a thing.
