now you can finally pretend to be cyclops from X-men... optic blast... optic blast... optic blast... optic blast...... just add annoying chat macro!
This item is a reference to the song
by Ryan Gary Raddon, known by his stage name
(hence "Raddon's Cascading Eyes"). Here is a short excerpt of the lyrics to that song (corresponding to the flavour text):
As the world goes by
We'll go on forever
Look into my eyes, eyes
Eyes are the windows to the soul
It seems an appropriate name for a Demon Hunter item given that this class possesses
The Demon Hunters’ apparent blindness belies their true powers of perception. They rely on magically augmented sight to detect enemies, even those that hide behind obstacles.
For those interested in the blindfold appearance of
, its notable that the
other blindfold in-game is
, a Leather helm that drops from
, the final boss in
. Hence the blindfold appearance is not available as transmog for cloth, mail or plate wearers.
The consolation prize is the Mists of Pandaria drink
, that will grant a temporary red blindfold effect on your character for 5 minutes when consumed.
UPDATE: The latest Beta patch has adjusted many of the passive effects of these legendaries. The following represents the most current in-game data as of August 26/16 (many of the Wowhead tooltips have not been updated yet!)
This is one of the new legendary world drops that are coming in Legion. Some of these drops are class-specific, and others are shared between classes (or have no class requirement at all!)
At the beginning of Legion, only 1 legendary item can be equipped at a time. Over time, as the expansion progresses this cap will be increased (
Here is some further information about these items:
The legendary items are intended to be used for the entire expansion. They are currently item level 895, and it remains to be seen whether this will change prior to release, or during Legion itself (for comparison, Mythic mode gear from
is iLvl 880).
Thus far, it appears that legendaries will drop from dungeon bosses, raid bosses, PvP Strongboxes, Mythic+ Weekly Caches and World Quest Caches (rewarded after completing 4 world quests).
As it stands, these will be the ONLY sources that will yield legendaries
. Blizzard may expand where they can come from in the future (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,

Legion Live Developer Q & A
While the legendaries are rare drops, they are not fully random - there will be ways to target specific items (
More difficult content will have a higher chance of dropping these items (
It should be nearly impossible to get a duplicate legendary item. (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,
Some level of bad luck streak protection also applies to legendary items (i.e. the chances of you getting a legendary will slowly increase if you don't have one drop). (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,
If the slot for the item is transmoggable, you can transmog these legendaries to other appearances, and vice versa (unlike legendary items from previous expansions) (
Legion legendary procs/effects will be disabled in instanced PvP (
Blizzard plans to institute a "suppression aura" in effect for a certain number of weeks after Mythic raids are available, which would disable any legendary item passive effects (they would still function normally as high-ilvl regular items, with the primary/secondary stats intact).
- As per the latest information, Legion legendaries WILL BE allowed in all raid situations,
INCLUDING Mythic difficulty
. The previously noted "suppression aura" in Mythic will not be implemented. (Source: Legion Summit Dev Interview,
All legendary bonus effects are passive "Equip" effects (there are no "Use" effects on these items)

Currently Eye Beam always crits. I don't know the math, but if you got out a full cast of Eye Beam where every tick hit, and since it always crits each tick is a crit, how much would that lower the cooldown? With the Demonic talent (Eye Beam puts you into a few seconds of Meta), this could be crazy.
unless there is a change to the crit chance on eye beam, this is gonna be one of the most OP legendaries for a havoc DH, should be a fun time
I just got lucky and received that item after turning in a
4 world quest bonus chest from Val’Sharah
And yes im the king of trashpacks now :)
Just received one from Farondis Lockbox <3
GL fellow demon hunters
a short note i got mine from Elerethe Renferal in LFR version yesterday on my Demon hunter so its not only from reputations chest :D
So, I've got this in my appearance collection, but I don't remember ever receiving it. I think I sold it to a vendor unless it's possible to get the appearance without actually getting the item. :(
This item needs to be updated. Equip bonus no longer works if you are above level 115.
Currently in 8.1.5, with a Demon Hunter level 115 or below, this is very OP. Eye Beam's cooldown has reduced to only 30 seconds down from 45 in Legion. With the Blind Fury talent, you only need 7 or so targets hit for Eye Beam to have absolutely no cooldown. So for trash packs in dungeons, you can just spam Eye Beam nonstop for a while.
Tempted to cap my level at 115 just for this...
One of the best items you can get if youre making a DH twink for BFA
AKA "Make Timewalking Fun!".
Raddon you will be missed. Let this stand as a lesson that it is possible to reach peak design brilliance and be unable to exceed later on.
Twinking is already punched down to floor.
Let's kick it in stomach while lying on the ground.
Just had this drop from Shar'thos world quest.
