This pattern is only sometimes available, as you can see if you click through on Tunkk.
I think "sometimes" is being generous. I've tried this guy at nearly every hour of the day and have yet to see it in stock.
This recipe is horde only, and it's pretty rare for horde too. So it's rarely seen in the Alliance auction houses.
When i first saw this pattern i went to go get it and i got it on my first try, but i did try to get one to sell on the AH and i have been going to him for 'bout a week and he still doen't have it so yes it is hard to get i was just VERY VERY lucky :D
this pattern for my Alliance LW - I will pay
- Horde on Chromaggus - Help me out here. Anyone! Reply to this post,
i am very thankful that i found this when i did judging from the previous comments. this pattern will be a great way to finally use up all that raptor hide while not using too much heavy leather to grind up my leatherworking :)
i just bought it on my DK to give to my ally alt ^^
Weird....I went up to him, he didn't have the pattern in stock. I typed out a few messages to a friend, tried him again and it was there......... O_o
Anyone who knows how long respawn time it is on the pattern? I've been standing here for about 2 hours and i would like to know if its worth staying longer.
This limited spawn %^&* is ridiculous, and it's about time they removed it from the game and put recipes like this on trainers.
It's not like the item made by this pattern is anything special, the only real use for it is for people levelling LW to get a few skill points using cheap raptor hides instead of tons of expensive heavy leather. So why is this stupid npc camping required?
*Edit* It eventually spawned exactly on the hour, at 4am...(##RESPBREAK##)2060##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##
I just made my first visit to Hammerfall with my level 11 Tauren shaman - low and behold the pattern was in stock AND I had enough money to buy it. Maybe just my lucky day, I was expecting to camp for ages.
Not sure if I just got lucky, but when I came to him he didn't have it. I checked every couple of minutes for about... 10 minutes or so and he finally had it in stock. I will camp a bit longer just to see if he gets it in in a reasonable amount of time.
Edit: I've been here an hour, and still no respawn.
Edit 2: I just got back home and checked. The pattern was there, so it has a respawn between 1 and 3 hours.
Edit 3: I came back 2 hours after last time I purchased the pattern and it was there. Perhaps a 2 hour respawn?
I got lucky with mine- only had to wait 10 minutes and I was prepared to camp for a while. He did get the pattern in stock just about right on the hour.
the recipe is more then likely every hour or so as when I went to look for it the first time it wasnt there at 4:45am server time so I went and quested a bit untill 5am server time and came back and he had the recipe there
I've kept checking almost every minute from 9:45am until 10:06am and it still hasn't respawned. I'll keep checking for a few more minutes and post if it shows up.
Edit: It finally showed up sometime around 10:10am.
Got some good news guys, i wanted this Pattern for my LW so i waited and got it at 14:30 so then i decided to wait another hour and it came again at 15:30 and then again at 16:30 so basically it comes every hour on the half an hour mark :)
Timer must be pretty random, friend bought it and then we did a few quests in the zone and came back and it was there again so I bought it. Then did a few more quests and checked again and it was there a third time within a few hours maybe.
At an hour and a half waiting for it....still nothing.
Edit: Two hours and it finally came. I tabbed back into the game to close down and it was there.
I was thinking that we could make a time-table over when he sells this pattern, so everyone who have bought it, note the time down and comment on my comment.
I bought it today at 10:54 AM server time @ Lightning's blade.
Waited 5 mins, and got it at 3:24PM. :)
19:25 (7:25 PM) server time - Moonrunner on 3/1/2011 - item respawned.
I think it's semi-random when it 'decides' to respawn but here's the info for you anyway.
Good luck all.
Edit #1: Got another one when I logged in at 17:21 (5:21 PM) server time on 3/2/2011. Nice
Edit #2: Got another one when I logged in at 7:25 (7:25 AM) server time on 3/4/2001. Again... nice.
I got it after about 20 minutes of waiting, at 12:29 on Kazzak.
Edit: 30 minutes later it respawned again.
I picked one up today from the vendor, it spawned about 5 mins after I got there. I hung out for a while doing other stuff and within the hour another one had spawned.

Will update in the future if I find more pieces. Comment if you know!
If you go to the NPC that sells this pattern on your server and he does not have it, find friend's on different servers that can invite you, it will give you a greater chance of getting lucky. My server's NPC did not have the pattern but when I got transferred to my friend's server that NPC did, so it does actually work and may lessen the amount of time you have to spend sitting there. I'm not saying it'll guarantee you 100% success but it will definitely increase your chances of getting lucky as opposed to just sitting at the same vendor for hours on end.
Alliance AH: Found one of these there and bought it when I went to collect it from mailbox it turned into
I don't know how to pattern ended up on alliance AH but I wasted 2k gold buying the pattern
No matter what you read or hear if you are alliance , do not bother trying to get this recipe. Its is horde only, im not sure if this is intentional or not but, the fact is at the moment it is not able to be seen on the alliance AH.
Proof: I have this recipe on my (secondary) horde account and put in in the AH, my (first account) alliance character can not even see this recipe when its posted,(I search ah and nothing shows up) so there is no possible way to get it as alliance. For those who are lucky enough to already have this recipe on their alliance character, they must have gotten it awhile ago, when maybe it was possible to trade this recipe, or maybe a short window when there was a glitch, who knows... all i know, is that ....As of 7.3 there is no way to give it to an alliance player. I still have the recipe on my horde account i just cant get it to my alliance main.... ill hold onto it and hope this changes in the future, but i wont hold my breath!
This pattern appears on the second page of the vendor.
And the best news: It's still available!
Came out to buy this pattern today. There is another pattern, Ironfeather Shoulders, sold by Gigget Zipcoil in The Hinterlands. They appear to be on similar timers.
Got here on the hour - no patterns. Farmed some medium leather for 15 minutes - no patterns. Farmed another 15 minutes - both patterns showed on the half hour. :::happy dance:::
This guy is Horde only, and now i present you the way
/way Arathi Highlands 70, 35 Tunkk (Horde Only)
As Alliance I was able to get one from AH for only 1,500 gold but when trying to learn the pattern I got a message "You can't use this item". Oh well
In 9.2.5 it is possible to use cross-faction to trade this pattern to an alliance character while inside an instance. However, it's still not possible to learn the pattern.
Proof (with the alliance-only version on a horde character):
after my 3rd Ticket about this Pattern, a GM told the following
German: "Das "Muster: Raptorbalgharnisch" ist kein Rezept welches Allianz-Charakter erlernen können. Zumindesten derzeit noch nicht, Feedback dazu ist wie angemerkt aber willkommen. "
English: "The Pattern: Raptor Hide Harness is not a recipie which an alliance character can learn. At least for the moment, you are very welcome to send feedback."
So maybe in the near future we can finally learn this.
So annoyed that I flew my horde out to buy this pattern, mailed it to my alliance LW and it turned into Raptor Hide BELT! If it's horde only, mark it that way ! Grrrrrr!
