New to the 2015 Hallow's End holiday event.
A minute, an hour, a month. Death is certain. The time is not.
Become someone else for a day?
I wonder if i could become Varrian for the day :P
Yay a Game of Thrones reference! Valar morghulis!
Just give that coin to any man in... Booty Bay.
I am half surprised this is not a Winter's Veil toy, with the Faceless Men being all about giving "the gift" and all.
, the infamous Braavosi saying, is well known to mean "all men must die," the traditional reply
apparently means "all men must release and run back after a wipe"...
A girl has work to do!
What do we say to the god of death?
So what do we think? Will it just put a random 'mask' on our toons?
I wonder... Is this like
that just makes you into a random person, or is it more like
just without the spectral look?
That man does not belong to the many faced god yet. The man has his time. The time of the man wil com...
Oh @#$% it. Just read the books.
USE THE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION!
Well it says become
else, not someone else so there really is no telling what it will turn you into.
Might as well add a yearly cooldown instead or im going to have too much fun with it, blizz! :P
A man teaches a girl. "Valar Dohaeris." All men must serve. Faceless Men most of all. :)))
The daily area exists only during the Hallow's End.
The best farming place is (39.33,96.62) on the
's ship, one
dropped per 10-15 min
if you are lucky
. Ranged DPS best, or DK with
, and you also need a
You have chance to loot from the mobs around the new holiday daily quests area Isle of Shadows(39,80) in Shadowmoon Valley(Draenor).
Update:I got the toy finally, dropped from
also drops another transform item
which transform you to a ghost pirate for 1 hour.
Tips:You'll be drunk when you kill enough
, so drink some coffee like
to make yourself sober.
Or you can just turn off the drunk effect with the command /console ffxGlow 0
Full screen glow covers various other effects, so if you want to turn it back on, use this command/console ffxGlow 1
According to this
by Jeremy Feasel Sr Designer at Blizzard Entertainment the coin...
"Turns you into one of HUNDREDS of models for an hour, never the same twice!"
GoT comments everywhere, and not a single one saying where to get it.
Just drop this toy from
, who is in Isle of shadow, and need for daily quest
This item drops of the mobs on Isle on Shadow
Dropped for me on my first
. But I was probably just lucky as other users stated that it took them some time. Upon use it transformed me into a bloodelf but as other players were around I can't say if it's random or a player near me that I copied. The buff lasts 60 minutes. Cooldown is 24h.
Looted the coin after 26minutes of farming the skeletons on the beach.. heads up they'll make you so drunk it gets hard to see near the end.
Just got my coins from Captain Bonerender - The elite from the Garrison daliy
Apparently it transforms you into one of the followers that can be recruited from the inn (of both factions).
looted from slty dreg 3 times , first time when i looted it it went straight to my toy box. and even weireder it happened other 2 times too. kinda lame and i dont get point of it..
It dropped after 3-4 hours of continuous farming. Spent about 2 hours circling the island killing everything, then I settled on the beach where you can view the ship with the elite, pretty decent farm place mainly skeletons and you always have something to kill. Spent there another hour after I moved on the ship where I farmed both the boss and the skeletons. After killing the boss multiple times and the mobs it finally dropped from a skeleton on the ship.
Hope this helps, Good Luck!
I just compared my screenshots to the others, still haven't seen a duplicate. I wonder how many there are.
EDIT: First duplicate appeared for me today, that's one out of about 100 so far.
took just over 30 kills, first transformation turned me(a blood elf priest) into a tauren shaman.
Just aoe salties, got mine in 10 mins.
3 minutes farming :-)
A 1-day cool down... kinda excessive there, blizz, don't ya think?
This dropped for me from the mobs for the Hallow's End garrison daily quests. I did the dailies on two characters and one dropped for me for each character. Either I was very lucky or the drop rate is very generous! AH prices on my server currently range from 2k-90k, but I reckon this will be going down in price massively later into Hallow's End.
I got mine after I continued farming for about 20 minutes after completing the four quests. The island was fairly crowded, with some significant competition for mobs at times. This occurred evening hours, Eastern time, on the first Sunday of the event. Mobs were level 100, with good respawn rates.
on Isle of Shadows.
Note: I did not experience the visual issues of the drunk effect, as has been discussed in previous posts. Maybe that's been hotfixed out, but undocumented?
ETA: Now Day Two, Did the dailies on three chars, with my husband and his three chars (total of six chars) for zero drops. RNG at its best.
Yet to get anything but a playable race unfortunately. Some neat ones though. Gone through about 20 illusions so far with use of alts.
You can have more than one coin in your inventory at a time, so you can effectively farm the coins for the Auction House.
1 Day CD? No fun allowed!
I looted my coin from a Boneship Reveler at 41.2,82.5 after around an hour of farming some mobs in that general area.
Can you turn into Garona, or the Panda DK with this?
I can't help but assume the droprate was hotfixed to be higher. I got one for myself while doing dailies, and soon after another dropped. Seems much higher than 1%.
It won't fade off if you get killed.
Sorry for being a Negative Nancy but all the game of thrones references are not helpful.
I'm actually not sorry at all.
So you're telling me i can be Solaire?
Took me around 15 mins to find one
Big dork that I am, I logged into every single one of my alts to try it out. Got only two duplicates on #32 & #33. So it doesn't seem quite like it's an infinite number of characters to turn into.
Since i couldnt find a comment about this il say it: the effect PERSIST through death
Got it from my 8th captain on the ship
Goblin Costume from Coin of Many Faces.
Not sure who she is, dont have her as a follower and she is not on the not adquired list either!
You can get a Hozen look as well. :o)
For some reason I am not able to log out under the effects of this toy.
This toy is such a turn on
So, can I just go there and farm the hell out of the area hoping for a few or is it something that would only drop during daily quest ?
I don't know if its a feature or a bug. The buff was removed from me when I entered timewalking dungeon.
Persists through death
Is the drop rate correct? I have found 3 coins in 2 days.... only by doing the quests.
Changes your appearance to that of a random garrison follower(even ones you haven't obtained...100s of models!). It has a cooldown of 1 day, and a duration of 1 hour. It also persists through combat.
They drop off the skeleton mobs on the island southwest(coords ) of Socrethar's Rise in Shadowmoon Valley. Personally, I think the best spots to farm these are on the boats south of the island. There are big packs of mobs on them and they respawn faster than the ones on the island.
If you don't have any luck farming it, you can also just buy it off the auction house.
Here is a quick video
showcasing the different models you can get if you want a preview before farming/buying this toy.
Dropped for me on my 139th kill. Forget patrolling the beach, farm on the deck of the ship. Mob spawns are continuous and there is never not anything to kill. Don't bother with the boss in the time it takes to kill him you could have killed 10 of the others. Good Luck :)
156 kills rewarded me with 17 spectral grog and 1 coin of many faces. I didn't timed the farming but had addon counting how many kills I did :)
The mobs are almost instant spawn, by the time you clear the boat's adds (excluding the captain - I've farmed on the boat with the captain) they are already respawning so you can just go non stop killing until it drops :)
I am just curious as to the purpose of this item being "unique-equipped". For starters, you can't equip it. You can learn it, and like all other toys once you learn it you cannot learn it again. You can still get this item after you learn it, as I just looted two in one day.
Just a minor thing.
This thing is clearly messed up. A 24hr cooldown for a 60 minute buff is a bit ridiculous... no its beyond ridiculous, its insane.
shocked it doesn't only last 5 mins and not usable in combat
got 2 in maybe 5 mins while doing quest.Just after spending 2 hours farming bronze whelp without luck.RNG .. >.<
Previously, I said that you can carry more than one coin in your inventory, which is still true. However, to increase your farming experience, the ship is the greatest farming place. The spawns are constant, just ignore the boss skeleton. I believe that the beaches and islands' spawns are based off of a minimum amount of mobs in the area, meanig that there can't be less than a set number, but the ships have a separate spawn area "minimum amount".
Pretty sure drop rate was nerfed this morning, farmed for 2.5 hours, full inventory of garbage, no coin.
EDIT: 153 spectral grog later it finally dropped! Total farm time of boat + the largest spawn packs on islands 3hr 15min
Took me 10 minutes of farming on the ship, not to bad :-)
You can make a very, very tiny version of your transformation by using the
, then using the
Made a video of the transformations I've gotten this far (More than 40 transformations)
Can also change you from Horde character into an Alliance character, and Alliance character to Horde character. Too bad this does not count as a disguise to infiltrate capital cities. The guards still know who you truly are. There is no hiding from them. =P
As you may have noticed, you'll be transformed in one of your Garrison's followers; some are even NPCs met during previous expansions.
You will find here a list (not yet complete though) of some of the NPCs you will be transformed into.
When available, you will find a link to the gear they wear, in case you want to copy their "mog":

Today, I became Fargo Flintlocke.
Beat that, yo mofos. :P
Submitting screenshot as well.
It actually changes your race, not only your appearance. This is important because you'll be effectively counted as a member of the race you get transformed into for things like
or anything that involves races like
. It's specially "useful" (it's not useful for all those on the quest...) in Ashran if you play a "rare race" (pandaren, worgen or goblin) and you want to prevent being first target and chased: if a (let's say) goblin transforms into a (let's say) dwarf it won't count as a goblin when killed.
Always wanted to be a human mage?
Now you can be one for an hour!
1. Go to the Underbelly in Dalaren and find yourself this:
2. Then use your Coin of Many Faces, and now you should become a Kirin Tor mage.
A player has no name
The coin and the effect are a reference to a character/believe/cult in game of throne.
Arya stark encounters a man and saves him, she later meets him again to find out that his some sort of assasin who can change his face and appearance into that of another person, because he is indepeted to her, he kills 3 people for her to "equal out the balance for the death god", since se saved 3 souls, now 3 others have to die. He gives her a coin and tells her that if she ever needs help again she should show the coin to anyone from Braavos. She later follows him to train under him so she can get the skills to revenge her father's death.
Did these get removed from legion? they dont seem to drop as much anymore if at all.
WoW Gold Guide: Halloween Edition, I got over 5 ways to make great gold to support your wow game time account during the next year using Halloween Items. Here is the Video that I made for this guide:
I used this today and my character is a Troll with plate gear, and bright red legs? No texture just the colour of my legs now being a very bring red.
Will post a picture.
It can actually turn you into a Hozen. Don't know what the chances are, though.
Had it turn me into a Jinyu today first time witness this happen.
If you use this on a Demon Hunter you get some pretty funny interactions with your double jump/wings.
"Cooldown reduced during Hallows End''. Not sure how long though, as mine still shows 1 Day Cooldown time. I've used it twice in two hours though :)
I have gotten over five of these in very short farming sessions. Within fifteen minutes, I managed to get like three and before that I had already gotten one within half an hour's time. I put a bunch in my guild bank for other members who might want one. I should mention I farmed these during Hallow's End, in Draenor (WoD) at the beach in Shadowmoon Valley near Socrithar's Rise. The Bonerender minions all have a chance to drop it. I was worried it would take a while to get one, since it's estimated average is around 1%, but no it was quite high of a drop rate for me. It helps to use an AoE 110 character to save time, too.
If you're a regular user of the Coin of Many Faces like me, you might often find yourself thinking "wtf, female dwarf again?" I've been curious for a long enough time to compile the data on what gender/race combo you're most likely to be. This is assuming that it takes a random appearance from the WoD garrison inn/tavern follower hires. It also assumes that if a follower is shared by both faction pools, it'll be doubly represented:
F Night Elf - 5.8%
M Tauren - 5.8%
M Dwarf - 5.6%
M Human - 5.6%
F Dwarf - 5.1%
F Blood Elf - 4.9%
F Human - 4.7%
F Troll - 4.5%
M Troll - 4.5%
F Orc - 3.9%
F Undead - 3.9%
F Tauren - 3.7%
M Worgen - 3.7%
M Orc - 3.7%
M Night Elf - 3.5%
M Blood Elf - 3.3%
F Draenei - 3.3%
M Undead - 3.3%
F Pandaren - 3.3%
M Pandaren - 3.3%
F Worgen - 2.9%
F Gnome - 2.5%
F Goblin - 2.5%
M Draenei - 2.3%
M Gnome - 2.1%
M Goblin - 1.6%
Hozen - 0.4%
Jinyu - 0.4%
The coin does work with
which is dropped from mobs during the event, so you can turn yourself into the ghost form of the character you become.
FWIW, if you have this buff on, no one can cast
I can't loot the mobs. Do I need to be level 120 (level 110 currently, don't have BfA)?
another fun fact:
if you are alliance and get transformed to horde, you'll be able to do /forthehorde - I do this for fun in BGs while killing the opposite faction
and vice versa, if you are horde and get transformed to alliance, you can do /forthealliance
i guess i was lucky, thought Well,i might just try, Got it in about 20 min, with instant flying broom mount
Just a silly question here, do i need to have the daily quest active to farm this toy?
I've used it nearly every time I play for the last year and today was the first time i got a non-playable race....
It turned me into a Jinyu..
not sure what it could mean but it looks pretty sweet!
This item seems to be updated with new models, as I'm getting models that were added in BFA. Or then it just copies the look of one random player, and not a set amount of looks.
Can anyone confirm this still drops in 2019 Hallow's End?
I can now confirm this drops in 2019 Hallow's end. Got it from a Bracklish Cultivator.
For everyone trying to farm this toy in 8.2.5:
the mobs do not drop anything besides
and the occasional green item.
I managed to get 3 Coins within ~30 min by running around and killing everything I saw.
Coin of many faces Dropped for me when i had the Spectral Grog buff. And when it was Hollow's End event. The mobs don't always have loot. When they dropped something it was the Grog or the Coin.
1% drop rate my bum. I just got 3 of these within 5 minutes. Going rate on my AH of $30K.
I am going to save them until after Hallows End before putting on the AH.
Still drops in Shadowlands pre-patch as of October 30th, 2020, from the same mobs listed. It took me about an hour and a half of farming the skeletons and squashlings over the course of two days for it to drop. You do not need to be on a quest for the toy to drop.
Dropped after 35 attempts, wasn't really even going for it. Had no idea it existed all these years.
For the 2022 Hallow's End event, the cooldown has not been reduced from 24hours as the tooltip would indicate. Myself and several friends are having this issue.
