This thing costs about 500g in materials. Totally not worth it.
There was a time when 53.8 reigned supreme. This and the Arcanite Reaper are relics from those days. Considering the costs, one can make much better upgrades that this, these days.
Have similar Arcanite costs, other mats are really inconsequential.
My first warrior crafter one of these and used it for quite some time (up until he got his Obsidian Edged, in fact) - the proc, combined with a Crusader enchant, is really quite good. But the DPS is pretty weak by now for the cost of the mats. I can't imagine making one again when you can pick up an Ice Barbed Spear by winning one AV match.
i've never seen a warrior wield this before. the mats seem totally not worth it. i would strongly advise against the creation of this sword.
As someone already said above the sword seems quite useless now.
I am planning swords for my retribution paladin. At my current 51lvl I still use Truesilver Champion (
) with Crusader on it. I have prepared already Destiny (
) for 52lvl, again with Crusader :).
I looked at this one but it will give a negligible upgrade after 6 level. Recently I bought Blade of Misfortune (
) for just 150g, that will be my sword at 60 lvl.
Still I am not sure if I have to replace Destiny with something before 60lvl, but obviously it won't be Arcanite Champion:).
This weapon is followed by
Which is lvl 70 upgrade for this.
Personally I would say that this sword might have some "collection value" and roleplay value, but it is easily passed with new outland greens that are BoE (around 60dps with 3.5 speed)
If anyone needs this sword crafted, i can do it on Windrunner, just PST or mail SIDJAMAN.
I will do my best to always keep these mats at hand. I will try to sell this sword every week at the AH. I farmed these plans for 2 straight weeks, no success. Ended up purchasing these plans at the AH for 150g but i would gladly pay 500g for the plans.
Made the first one, enchanted with crusader and sent to my guildie friend for her death knight.
ARCANITE CHAMPION HO!
*shakes head* not the same..
This weapon used to be amazing since the proc didn't share CD with Crusader, and with 54 dps would be great for arms warriors. The fact is that 3.00 speed is too fast for Mortal Strike and, with the revamp of AV, it lost most of it's popularity.
Arcanite Champion, HOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I used two of these in Wrath on my level 60 twink warrior (titans grip was available for level 60s back then).
Each of them had
on them, the healing and damage was incredible. Sadly I never got around to
using them in pvp.
This weapon hides other enchants for transmog.
Regarding transmogrification for paladins, this one goes amazing together with
Realistically, I guess
has to do, seeing how
have astronomically low drop chance in level 50 zones, and
is no longer obtainable.
Unfortunately the Arcanite Champion lived out its life in the shadow of the very popular
. However, back in Vanilla this sword was definitely underrated. The weapon proc stacked with Crusader, and combined with warrior's sword spec+hand of justice combo, could deliver humongous burst potential.
making a comeback in Legion!
