This is a new item thats purchased with the new fish
This gives you faster gathering speed on resources.
Mining deposits: 1 second
Skinning Corpses: 1.5 seconds
Gathering Herbs: 1 second
You will be able to buy different kinds of vanity items, Recipes and food with these fish. You will be able to buy them from
Does this increase your fishing speed?
Does this stack with other reducing effects like
As of 6.2, @andru360 is not right about the amount.
This potion works exactly like Gathering time reducing gloves from pandaria .
This means that it reduces:
Skinning by 1 second
Mining by 1.5 second
Herbalism by 1.5 second
DOES NOT AFFECT FISHING (or it reduces by 0.08); DOES NOT STACK WITH SIMILAR ITEMS.
that would have been useful if you could use this to gather fishes faster during the faire for the pets and toys.
FYI: these can be fished. I got 20+ in 1 hour, so save yourself from spending daggermaws on these and instead focus on the more interesting items since you will be getting Darkmoon Firewaters while fishing anyway.
I mostly got them from the crates.
You can get these out of the crates you get from the Shipwreck Debris pool. Saves yourself 25
I'll just save them until I can fly. More fun to gather when you can actually fly :p
I can confirm it doesn't stack with the preserved mining pick which is the item you use to increase mining speed in garrison mine.
is a consumable that grants a buff, reducing gathering time, and slightly increasing your character's size. Gathering time for skinning is reduced by 1 second, and for herbalism/mining by 1.5 seconds. Fishing cast time is not reduced by an appreciable amount. The buff lasts 60 minutes and it can be used in addition to other flasks/elixirs. The buff does not persist through death.
Similar gathering items/consumables include:
, a treasure found in Spires of Arak at (40,55) on a mountainside. This item reduces the cast time for mining, even for non-miners in their garrison mines.
, dropped by the rare spawn
in Nagrand. This item reduces cast time for herbalism by 1.5 seconds, even for non-herbalists in their garrison herb garden.
, usable only in Pandaria. These are a rare drop from
s, found on the Timeless Isle or from the rare spawn
. The gathering time reduction is the same as this potion.
, available from
during the Winter Veil world event. Note that this item DOES stack with
Note that (apart from
) none of the above items stack with this potion.
1 of these potions is guaranteed to be inside each
that you fish up. These crates can be fished up from pools of Shipwreck Debris around Darkmoon Island, or rarely can be fished up from open water. Each successful cast into a Shipwreck Debris pool will yield 1
per cast into a pool).
As such, this is by far the most efficient way of obtaining these potions (rather than spending 25
each from the vendor)!
(Fishing Prizes) is the vendor that sells these potions at the Darkmoon Faire. She is located at (52, 88) - beside the left dock ramp, under the reddish awning.
The currency used for this vendor is
, which can be fished up in the waters surrounding Darkmoon Island. Here are some notes about catching these fish:
These fish can be caught from open water OR pools
When fished from open water, 1
is caught per cast, unless you fish up a
(a rare catch), containing gold and 5-10
Fishing in pools of Shipwreck Debris will yield multiple
(typically 2-5), along with 1
per cast. Pools usually despawn after 1-2 casts.
While the fish are the currency for items sold by
, they can also be eaten (for mana and health, they do not grant a buff) or cooked into various dishes that grant a versatility buff (the recipes for which are purchased from Galissa!).
Interestingly enough, using this item with both buffs from
increases the time it takes to mine in your garrison. It seems to negate the Preserved Mining Pick's buff, instead of either stacking or doing nothing at all.
The 'faster gathering' part currently overrides the effects of
, 1.5-1.7s, instead of 0.2s with just the pick buff.
It appears to also affect
. Will make more observations and report back.
For some reason this potion DOES NOT refresh itself to full duration if you drink another while still under the effect.
So don't waste them - wait for the buff to fade off before drinking another!
I try to use 3x
each day since you get four
s each day in a level 3 mine, but some days you get four coffees. If you're just getting started on a new alt's mine, running out of
s makes it take about twice as long to mine. These used to stack with
for those times when you do run out of
. It seems in some fairly recent patch they removed this functionality. I guess they only wanted them to be useful to people outside of Draenor or those that sold the
This still works in Legion / on the Broken Isles, but it does not stack with the glove enchant.
Tested this by skinning Hippogryphs in Azsuna, skinning time went from 1.5 seconds to 0.5 seconds.
The size increase from the item is VERY minor. It's good if you want your character to seem a couple inches taller than normal for RP purposes and it lasts an hour so you don't have to refresh it as often as
It stacks with other size increasing effects like with
though. But as I said before, it's a VERY minor increase so it's not a big deal.
A suggestion to Blizzard would be to add another potion, similar to this, that increases your
. Pretty sure that'd be popular.
This potion works in island expeditions increasing the speed of mining azerite
does it help with pickpocketing?
WARNING: I used one when the previous potion had 5 seconds left on it. It didn't refresh the duration, used the potion, and went on CD. Don't waste it.
Works like Shadowlands Gathering - Mining from 3.2 -> 1.7s, Skin/herbing down to 0.5s.
I can sell these on the AH regularly for 100–150g on my server. Probably used for gather bots (?)
This now increases Deftness by 15%. I guess until you get Deftness with profession equipment or whatever, this does literally nothing. Tried it just now with classic herbs and speed is the same.
EDIT: Just tested in Pandaria with Forager Gloves, and it does work, drops the cast time from 1.7 seconds (just gloves) to 1.2 with both Forager Gloves and Firewater. Tested with Firewater and no gloves, and it goes back to the original 2.7 seconds.
