This can be traded in for various crafted reagents.
The trader (A:
) is outside of your Town Hall.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Erorus##DELIM##
Horde Trader is located in front of your Tower of War in your level 3 garrison.
I looted these from the garrison mine and herb garden nodes. Also the mining carts have a good chance to contain 2-3 of these.
Can be traded for the BoP crafting materials created from the work orders of your profession buildings (and daily cooldowns on professions), as well as the Sorcerous materials (new motes / elemental resource used in crafting). You can also trade them for Savage Blood, the rare crafting material which is only otherwise obtainable via the Barn building.
The Alliance vendor
is located right outside the garrison main building.
The Horde vendor
"Appraiser" Sazsel Stickfingers
is located near the Tower of War (the one with the Ashran portal) at level 3.
These aren't currently used in crafting directly.
A video covering everything we currently know about the Primal Spirit can be found
The two vendors stand in different locations at various stages of garrison construction.
Tier 1 - Ashley is hanging out at (30,17) with the food cart and a circle of friends.
Tier 2 - Ashley can be found at the center circle of the Alliance garrison, standing in front of her cart. (44.7,53.1)
Tier 3 - Ashley stands to the left of the entrance to the Town Hall, near the lamppost.
Tier 1 - Saszel is to the left of the Great Hall, hiding behind a cart of supplies. (57,53)
Tier 2 - She is located in the NE, close to the north gate past your first large building. (60,40)
Tier 3 - Just to the right of the tower with a portal to Ashran. (70,50)
Primal spirits can be looted while mining, skinning, and herbing, and from mining carts and the same mobs that drop apexis crystals.
You can buy crafting materials such as Hexcloth and Warpaint for these from the Primal Spirit vendor in your garrison. Most items are a 10 to one ratio (so 10 Primal Spirit for 1 Hexcloth) Only exception is the Purple blood which costs 50 Primal Spirit for 1.
Guys can this be gotten from skinning mobs?
At the current rate of Work Orders (4 hours) it will take 20.83 days to get
, which is needed to purchase the level 3 Barn. So until then, you cannot get the level 3 Barn to start farming
Keep in mind, these numbers are based on one character, but the achievement is account-wide. If you have 10 characters doing this each day, the achievement will go 10 times as fast.
However, if you simply need to queue the work order instead of completing each one, it should take 18.5 days to simply place all of them, at a rate of 14 work orders per building.
Furthermore, if you have
, then it will take 17.6 days to complete this achievement, since you get an additional 5 work orders per building.
trait will also increase work orders and further decrease time, if you only need to start work orders and not finish them.
Remember, work orders do not complete at the same time, one must complete before the next can begin.
Until you can get the level 3 Barn, you are better off farming
and trading 50 of them in for
Apparently, just ninja hotfixed to be a green item. Weird.
As of today November 15, 2014, Primal Spirits were changed from Rare to Uncommon.
It's now a green quality item.
I hate to be the guy who whines about equality in comment threads. But, I've been skinning left and right in Draenor with no luck getting any
. Apparently you can get them from mining in zones as low as shadowmoon valley. The thing that is happening here is that as a leatherworker, I now lean towards getting mining instead of skinning as my secondary. Because I can purchase
on the auction house, but
are bop. So why not get mining, sell ores and purchase
so that I can farm
as well? For reference, I use the
from the spirit trader, which is used when crafting gear. I would absolutely love to be the guy in the wrong here, feel free to shut me up and point me in the direction I need to go in order to skin
EDIT: This has been fixed. I now get
every once in a while when skinning. To give you some perspective, after farming 1 stack (200)
I got 4x
. Which is great news. I feel sorry for those who caved in and unlearned skinning for mining (if there are any) though.
Best place to farm these? The Pit in northern Gorgrond. Grab the buffs (One is a hand cannon, the other is a fire crystal) spec into a tanking spec or something that's really good at kiting and gather a group of elite mobs. AoE them down and enjoy doing 50-100k DPS for a short period. I've found that the drop rate is about 20% when you're alone, and for some reason goes up to about 60% when you're with another person.
As a Prot Warrior, I was able to solo farm 50 Primal Spirits (One Savage Blood) in about 2 hours. With a Disc Priest friend present to farm Apexis Crystals, (Those drop like crazy as well) I got 50 in a little under 45 mins.
Edit: Also, Laughing Skull rep! I'm at Honored after about 3 hours.
Edit: Heads up, this was nerfed. You can only farm these mobs on days when the Daily is The Pit. Drop rate is still amazing on those days though!
I got 3 of those from a single mine cart.
I haven't fully figured it out yet but these seems to drop in a rotation of some sort each day. It doesn't seem to depend on what garrison assault daily quest you have, either. If anyone figures out how exactly it works, let me know, because there are mobs in Talador (Shattrath City) and Spires of Arak (Skettis) that drop these that I'd like to farm but right now neither of them are dropping them.
I really don't like this new dynamic loot table bullcrap. If mobs drop something, they should always drop it. Their loot tables shouldn't change from day to day.
So is there a way to farm these ones efficient in a specific area by killing specific mobs?
This seems to be blue back again :S
On my paladin these seems to be blue (rare) now, but when I log my rogue they're still green.
Is this a bug or whats going on here?
The Primal trader in the level 3 Horde garrison "Appraiser" Sazsel Stickyfingers is just outside of the tower that has a portal to Ashran, if you are on your way to the portal she will be on the right side of the door to the tower.
Rather annoyingly, these will be deposited into your Reagent bank tab but unlike Work Orders, you can not trade these in unless they are in your bags.
As a BM hunter with ilvl 646 i took the flight path to "everbloom overlook, gorgond" and went south and on 40 minutes of farming i've got 15 primal spirit and loot worth 608G. I think it could have been a little bit more but some ally killed my follower very early of the farming. (i did NOT have the gladiator buff in my outpost wich i think could increase it even more)
When the green humanoids die there there will be a pool of juice under them for a moment and when you step on it you will get a buff that increase your damage and it stacks 10 times, first time it only last around 15-20 sec but when you have 5+ stacks it will last for 1 minute and the timer will reset at 1 minute everytime you walk over these pools, they do damage to you everytime you walk on it but since kill shot will give you 15% health that is no problem.
when i have 10 stacks i pretty much 1-2 hit most monsters.
i havent tried that many places yet but so far this has been the best both money and primal wise for me solo.
there is also plenty of wood for those with lumbermill in theire garrison.
A druid in cat form tried to kill me while i had Stampede activated and my pets killed the druid before the stun even dissapeard on me wich made me lol.
Excuse my english and any errors in the text.
They were green and now I cleared cache and they are blue.
If you will be trading in your Primal Spirits for any of the Sorcerous elements, check the auction house on your realm before doing so.
On my realm currently,
sells for about 3x the price of
- so buying Fire would be a real waste. The very best value on my server is
which sells for 900 to 1100g, so of course buying one of these and selling it would get you much more value for your Spirits than anything else.
EDIT: Prices have come down a fair bit since this was originally posted, but definitely the advice to check the prices first is still good!
Finally got my 11 characters to 100 and set up Level 3 mine and herb gardens for them. After they made their runs, for the day, I pulled in a total of
The herb garden contributed very little; maybe 2 or 3 per toon. The mining carts often dropped 3 per cart.
It seems there is a way to trade raw materials to
Once per day, a NPC will spawn randomly in your garrison with a random quest.
There are 5 NPC and 5 quests by NPC, so you have 25 combinations, but you can go to someone else garrison.
Leather Trader: 5x
Fur Trader: 5x
Ore Trader: 5x
Herb Trader: 5x
**Updated for patch 6.2.3**
If you're considering buying
s through the daily garrison trader, then using them to buy
, you may be better off auctioning the trade goods and buying Bloods/elements from the auction house, making extra gold in the process.
Once you know the average auction values of what you want and what you have (The Undermine Journal tracks them by realm and region), compare their prices according to these formulas:
1 Sorcerous element = 15 Primal Spirits = 3 crafted parts = 15 trade goods
1 Savage Blood = 25 Primal Spirits = 5 crafted parts = 25 trade goods
For example, if one
sells for more than 25
, then the conversion is ideal. If it sells for less, auction the Ore. Remember that some herbs and ore can have different values.
Currency for (12) Tab needs updated for 6.2!
Profession reagents now cost 5.
Sorcerous Elements now cost 15.
Savage Blood now cost 25!
I hate this item, wish I could just loot it and sell it like thrash.
exchange 25 Primal Spirit for 1 Savage Blood. This price is ridiculous. I've just exchanged 150 and I bitterly regret it now, as this cannot be undone or bought back on Auction house.
Any one know if these are going to be NON bop in Legion? They did that with the harmony in MoP. I think I'm going to just start saving them up to find out. Can always get the bloods later seeing as they will be used for make enchanting tomes in legion.
In 7.0.3, you can buy
marks of honor !
Don't do drugs...
Whats the best way to use these now in Legion? noticed my bank has thousands of these.
It really feels like its time to unbind these. I don't recall exactly when Spirit of Harmonies became non soulbound but if i recall right it was still MoP when this currency became tradeable. It seems like an oversight that Primal Spirits haven't reached this status 6 months into the next expansion.
These are still useful for primal weaving to make cloth for 30 slot bags.
Now its weeks into 2nd expansion past these items being current currencies.
Hello, can anyone tell me the requirements for the primal spirit missions to show up?
I cant seem to figure out why some of my characters get these but one of mine doesnt.
I have 6 followers at 675.
Are these useless for draneor engineering once you max it out? I maxed it without them and all they seem to be used for is gearspring parts.
How to use these once you're finished with your Draenor profession:
Add a Trading Post to your garrison. At Level 1, the Trading Post comes with Krixel Pinchwhistle, a vendor that allows you to trade garrison resources for mats (also useful for basically "vendoring" excess resources). His last item however, is a sack of gold (containing 49 to 51 gold) in exchange for savage blood. Draenor mats never sell well on my server, so the combination of the primal vendor and this guy will allow you to turn both Primal Spirits and Garrison Resources directly into gold. Very useful now that the expansion is several years old, and I constantly have a ridiculous amount of both primals and resources.
Also, Level 3 gives you a rep boost with Draenor factions, which is very helpful if you're working towards Draenor flying or getting all those titles and mounts.
The best place to farm this is at Throne of Kil'jaeden at Tanaan Jungle. Killing fel orcs and demons is pretty easy and each one gives 1-2.
And now, when
has been nerfed to give under 4s, what would be the best financial way to get rid of
Took 5 or 6 shots at Heartwood Doe's and it dropped today for me
After wanting to tidy up my bags I came here to find out what was currently the best thing to spend these on. Turns out we have missed converting them to
and then purchasing
because since 9.1 you only get a few silver, you used to get on average 50g. So now we're left with buying
which we can then sell for 1g each. You can buy these in your garrison from your Primal Trader,
. Location can be in a couple of spots depending on how far you have levelled up your
I setup a little macro as I got fed up with the confirmation dialogue for each purchase. Put the following into a macro and after opening up the merchants tab you can spam away and then sell each stack of 200 for 200g when done.
If in the future the vendors change what they offer and the
are no longer located in slot 9 on the merchants tab just update the macro with the items new slot number. You count left to right working down the list from top to bottom then continuing on each page if needed. There may be a cleverer way of doing this as I'm sure will be stated in a comment below. ;)
There could be options to convert to more profitable items that are then crafted and sold for more but as most mats become soulbound I couldn't be arsed working that out for each profession on all my alts so went for the quick and easy option.
