the fact that it has warforged in the name makes me want to say that it's going to be added in 5.4.8, or possibly in the 6.0 pre-patch.
warforged- like the rare raid gear dropping this raid tier.
it looks good. too bad that for 90% its going to need euros to obtain.
Maybe it can be purchased with warforged seals? They not going to be as useful when 6.0 comes and alot of people have alot of those lesser charms!
This is (currently on the PTR) created with 1 Nightmarish Hitching Post, and 1 Grinning Reaver.
Its funny how some of the "out of date" posts are actually correct--it is stated to be released in Patch.5.4.8 according to

This could be a Scroll of Resurrection reward for the next promotion. I don't think it would be RaF - doesn't look like a two person mount. There's plenty of reward options for RaF and only 1 for SoR (I know they took out SoR but I'm sure it'll appear again before the new expansion). I could also see it being a store mount

The mount itself uses the same movements as the Swift Windsteed, also from the store; very clunky and heavy feeling when running (as it should, it's mechanical!). But it has its own unique sound: a sound that you would expect from a mechanical horse. And, of course, the flame/smoke effects when flying are a nice touch. At least on my server (Korgath), I haven't seen anyone else with it. But judging by the amount of whispers I got when testing it out, I'm sure it'll be all the rage by this evening. Will upload screenshots soon.

Store description of the mount:
"Through the magic of a fantastical hitching post, you and your allies can ride this magnificent metal steed to your next conquest. So bring the finest horse ever crafted to your stables and unite the war band! Grandmaster smiths are standing by for your order!"
The mail for the Hitching Post reads:

Seems to be some sorta bug if you take take a flight path while you have the buff from the hitching post. Fly really really slowly, or maybe its your mount speed or something. Only tested on my level 34 guy so far which only has slowest mount speed.
edit: you can also cancel the mount buffs and youll end up swimming through the air with no mount, this of course pertains to being on a flight path
Never been so much as tempted by a Blizzard Store mount/pet before. But damn, this tests me.
It tests me greatly.
Warforged nightmare...probably involves getting lots of gold.
Currently cannot be gifted to someone else, but as this is the first day of availability, functionality will be implemented "in a couple weeks", as per @BlizzardCS
Here is a copy of the mail that you receive when you get the mount.
As per your request. We have custom built a fearsome warhorse to your stringent standards.
But do not be fooled by its metal skeleton, as it is quite alive and will obey your every command.

I just got it and am parked in the Shrine for a little bit. Getting a lot of attention! This mount looks awesome on my demonology warlock with full regalia and dark apotheosis on.
I'm sorry, but this thing has the stupidest looking running animation, at least in my opinion.
I think everyone who hates the stupid ground running animation should submit suggestion to make Blizzard change it. I'll be doing this 20-30 times every single day... until they ban me or something.
If anyone on this post is an artist, i would love it if someone could sketch this mount for me :)
The DisplayID is not shown in the files, but I have found it, and for those of you interested (tMorph mainly) the DisplayID of the Warforged Nightmare is 55896
This mount is definitely a must buy if you want to feel like a celebrity on your server. I cannot tell you how many whispers I've gotten telling me how cool my mount is, where they can get it, etc (sometimes I reply back that I got it from some crazy difficult achievement, and bask in the oohs and ahs). Furthermore it's a great in game gold maker - people will literally come out and ask to pay you gold to put down the hitching post so they can preview the mount themselves. I have made 10,000g in a couple of days since owning this mount - more than I can sell my sky golem for :(. In this way the mount is very similar to premium vehicles in other MMOs like World of Tanks, i.e. you buy a mount that helps you grind ingame currency in the game.
So buy this mount for the big self esteem boost from your peers, and if you want some extra gold revenue for no effort.
Also the flying fire effects are pretty rad.
They should have added an achievement for it called "Screw your mechano-hog, I'VE A HORSE OUTSIDE!"
Looks like the Thunderhorse in Metalocalypse.
Just bought this earlier today, and I have to say it's one of the first mounts I've bought that I'm actually pleased with. The hitching post is deifnitely a nice touch. Although the running animation is more dog like than horse like, for a 'robot' horse it does look right.
If you clicked the
is running out stay mounted and when you no longer have the buff just log out and log in. It will reset to initial 20 minutes. You can do this as many times as you want to keep the mount.
Due to the running anymation it makes you
traveling fast.. but this is my personal opinion
-Stupid run animation
-The way it stands while on a slope is ridiculous
Cool special animation when pressing jump
So. i bought the Warforged Nightmare today and wherever i go it says "You can't use that here." im a Troll Warrior.
Did they price increase this? It costs £27 now in the UK store up from £22.
This mount is cool. The run animation is kinda odd but it's a robot horse. For what it's worth, the run animation is overlooked for me because it has other features I like. Obviously the hitching post. A raid team riding these is really awesome and picture worthy. Also, I love the sounds. When you're turning you hear a quiet chain sound like your pulling on the reins, also it snorts and breathes heavy when running, flying or just standing.
The standing animation is awesome, it turns its head to one side, also it kinda jumps spreading its front legs apart and looks to the side like it's glaring or something. The mount special animation is awesome, it rears up and does a turn. The whinnying sounds are cool too, sounds like a robotic horse. When it flies there is a red haze/streams following it like it's moving really really fast.
All in all, if you can get past the one flaw it has, the running animation, you get a neat horse that looks bad ass and capable of taking on whatever it is your about to fight for you.
I call mine Onix...after the On-X horse from Rainbow Brite.
Don't judge me.
For best results, put the camera directly behind your character and zoom in while flying directly forward in the air... ANIME SPEED LINES...
I love everything about this mount + toy combo, including the - actually somewhat fitting - animations...
