Soloed the boss as a lvl 48 Good geared rogue with ease, saved evasion for when he went immune, and popped all dps cooldowns immidiatly, used a pot to be sure to kill him, but ended up killing him with 50% health remainning. easy mode.

went with another ZF group, but somehow i missed this boss and didn't loot him (and corpse disappeared faster than i would normally exspect..)

oh well, easy mode

edit: i btw pulled him to the back of the wall of the north (killed 2 mobs there before pulling him there) so i wouldn't pull any scarabs when he went immune.

good news is the agro range of mobs is very small, bad news is, although normally i whomp on anything with a red tag these guys run, usually into a bunch of their buddies, just when think you've nailed them. watch for wandering singles and pairs in longer corridors. mobs generally won't agro on you if you hug the wall. fighting in a narrow space is bad here since another mob can and will walk right up and join in. i'm a level 58 undead 'lock with a v.w. didn't have too much trouble with one or two of these guys at a time, an example is you can't sneak past the guards with 5544 hp or so apiece standing by the third archway. twice there were two guards once there were three. got them but was down to 30% hp after using both a healing spell and potion, which left me getting beat up until sacrifice cooled down. the best attack here imo is from the left side after waiting until a pair that patrols the area goes buy since i got massacred the first 2 times by multiple additional mobs when i attacked from the other side. see first sentence as to how this came about. i found the pool where the hydromancer with second tablet is first. it may sound cruel but when my v w ran into a mob of 4 with 4-5k hp each i backed off without targeting any of them, watched poor huk get slaughtered and reused the soul shard to summon him back. if you turn so your back's to the pool, keep to the right you'll find theka. the scarabs didn't agro on me until after he was dead and a wandering mob attacked me, i gave up, got killed and had the spirit healer res me just outside of gadgetzan where it's a short hop to steamwheedle port to turn the quest in. life tap and cannibalize are a great combo if you're undead, anything you kill you eat :). for 'locks in general, soulstones are a good thing on this quest. i also used greater arcane and elixir of the sages and stocked up on soul shards so i could use soul fire to cut theka down to size. the rat had the max hp listed, over 9k but actually wasn't that hard to kill if you remember not to waste mana casting heavy spells while he's immune.

btw, killing mobs also gives you troll temper for that quest. you pick it up in gadgetzan
