Seems like a good way to level from 245 to 250 till you will be able to do tons of Dense Blasting Powders (Dense Stone is cheap on BL like 1g a stack)

Accurate Slugs are sold by vendors at 5c each (10s for 200) before reputation discount. They only require level 40 and do 13 dps, versus 15 for Mithril Gyro-Shot. So if you have a gun and are at level 44+, it would probably be worthwhile to check the auction house for these and get the extra 2 dps.

The next higher crafted shot requires level 52 and you have to be at level 55 to buy Impact Shot from vendors. All of the bullets are listed here.

This recipe has been removed from the game as of 4.0.1 along with all other ammo recipes.

Im glad blizz took out ammo, but now i have to make more Hi-Explosive Bombs to lvl engineering. Give and take i suppose.

The need for ammunition was removed in October of 2010, for Patch 4.0.1, thus making this item (and all other ammunition) useless.

In the past, 猎人s were required to devote one of their 4 bag slots to an ammo bag, to store ammunition. Failure to do so would result in the 猎人 being unable to shoot their weapon (弓, 弩, 枪械) and an error message (I can't remember exactly what it said but I think the durability figure also highlighted the figure weapon in red). Much like regular bags, these ammo bags varied in sizes; however, they could only contain ammunition.

All types of ammunition simply added DPS: the higher level/quality of the ammunition, the more DPS it could add.

As one could imagine, this process was highly expensive and bothersome: 猎人s had to spend chunks of their money on refilling their ammo bags, sacrifice game-time to refill (even in the middle of raids!) and farm reputation or hunt down various vendors/crafters to acquire the best ammunition. In addition, the ammo bags also required tight management of bag space to accommodate for all these arrows.

Luckily, quality-of-life improvements for 猎人s arrived in April of 2009, with Patch 3.0.1:

All types of gun and bow ammunition now stack to 1000 (up from 200). All quivers and ammo pouches no longer provide haste. 15% ranged haste is now built into the hunter’s 自动射击.

Following this change, Blizzard decided to further improve the situation a year later with Patch 4.0.1:

Guns, bows, and crossbows will now do damage without consuming ammunition at all. There will be no more ammo slot on the hunter’s character display. Any ammunition that a hunter has at the time of the change will become gray sellable items. Existing quivers will be converted into large bags. source
