PVA: Player versus Achievements - Warsong Gulch
This guide serves as one in a series of guides. Here, all the achievements found in Warsong Gulch are presented. The battleground itself is a 10v10 match for characters 10+. Additionally, all guides in this series contain information on relevant achievements that can be found in the general PVP category, as requirements for the presented achievements can be completed in any of these battlegrounds.

Important Information
General PVP Achievements
It's important to note that not all of the achievements in the general PVP category are addressed here. Some of them are not relevant to battlegrounds, and have been omitted from the content presented here for that reason. Instead, achievements that can be obtained while in some or all of the battlegrounds are presented.
一次荣誉消灭
: Achieve an honorable kill.
This is a time- and luck-based achievement. The first one should come fairly easily in battlegrounds, but the others will come with time spent in battlegrounds as enemies are killed. It's not one to focus on specifically, simply because the killing and honorable kills will happen naturally as part of PVP.
50,000点征服点数
: Earn X Conquest Points.
This is a time- and luck-based achievement. Conquest points are generally obtained through winning a battleground, and some people are more adept at this than others. This achievement series should not be focused on, as they will happen naturally as the other achievements are earned.
呼叫骑兵
: Obtain one of the war mounts through the honor system.
Each mount costs 2k honor, which is obtained through various PvP activities such as battlegrounds, quests, arena, and killing other players. The achievement is not obtained until the mount is learned, removing the possibility of getting a refund after receiving credit.

: Complete 100 battlegrounds at max level.
It's important to note that completion of a battleground is required, not winning it. Queue for specific or random battlegrounds, taking advantage of the increased number of players during Call to Arms! weekends. More players means shorter queue times, and as long as you stay until the battleground's winner has been determined, you'll receive credit. 100 times sounds like a lot, but it will go by quickly for anyone pursuing the achievements found the PvP category.

: Do 300,000 damage or healing in a single battle in any battleground. The damage or healing must be done to a player.
At max level, this is not particularly difficult for any class or skill level to obtain. Try to stay with a group while attacking to lessen the chances of dying (which halts progress on this achievement). Healers want to stay near groups as well because they're more likely to take damage while attacking or protecting players.

: Obtain an Insignia or Medallion of the faction.
Earn enough honor to purchase one of these items from the PVP vendor. If you're just going for the achievement, the level 60 vendor is cheapest.

: Enter a Battleground or Arena and learn the spell Honorable Medallion.
As soon as a character enters a battleground or arena in the Legion expansion or later, this achievement is obtained.

: Get an honorable, killing blow on seven different races.
This must be achieved on killing the opposing faction's members. It is easiest not to focus on this until the last race is left, since many kills will happen naturally as one plays PVP battlegrounds. It does require that the player achieve the killing blow, however, so staking out an area and receiving honor for kills in the area isn't sufficient.

: Emote /hug on a dead enemy before they release corpse.
Set a macro easily within range of other buttons so that you can hit it after a killing blow. It may take a few attempts, but thankfully some players are slower than others to release after dying so it's not too tricky.
职业杀手
: Get an honorable, killing blow on one of each class.
There are ten classes currently in-game. Lower level toons PvP-ing may find they are only missing the Death Knight class kill by the time they hit the level 55 bracket. Max level toons may find it takes several battlegrounds to obtain this achievement, but it will come with time, so aiming for it in particular can be frustrating and lead to adverse results in a battleground.

: Get 30 Honorable Kills in a single battle in any battleground.
Larger battlegrounds provide the best atmosphere for this achievement, as there are more areas for fighting to occur. Staying with a group helps avoid being picked off by the opposing team, but don't be afraid to attack enemies who are alone.

: Get 20 killing blows without dying in a single battle in any battleground.
This is best obtained while at lower levels, especially if the character is well equipped for PvP. Generally, players are still familiarizing themselves with their class, and the end game skills and talents have not yet been learned. Utilize your toon's strengths, whether it be wearing mail or plate while everyone else is in cloth and leather, or being able to take out players from afar. Max level toons will find they need to either "steal" killing blows from teammates or learn their class very well in order to obtain this achievement.

: Raise your reputation values in Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley to Exalted.
These can be raised by individually grinding at each battleground or by spreading out one's efforts. There are benefits to both strategies, so it is up to the player to decide what tactic to use. Remember that there are quests to bump rep for some of the factions, so that can help speed the reputation gain to Exalted.

: Complete the battleground achievements listed below.
Earn the Master of Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, Eye of the Storm, and Strand of the Ancients achievements for your faction.
This is the "classic" battleground all-star achievement. These can be earned by individually grinding at each battleground or by spreading out one's efforts. There are benefits to both strategies, so it is up to the player to decide what tactic to use.

: Complete the battleground achievements listed below.
Earn the Master of the Battle for Gilneas, Isle of Conquest, Twin Peaks, Silvershard Mines, and Temple of Kotmogu achievements for your faction.
This is the "new" battleground all-star achievement. These can be earned by individually grinding at each battleground or by spreading out one's efforts. There are benefits to both strategies, so it is up to the player to decide what tactic to use.
Quick Tips for PvP
PVP is a fast-paced, goal oriented component of the game. Just as some players specialize in raiding end-game content, others focus their efforts on player-vs-player gaming. Because of this, queuing for a battleground can result in a multitude of personalities. As usual, try to identify the players who are acting as leaders and follow their instructions - other players may chime in, but the majority of the group will agree upon one course of action. Unless you're going for a specific personal achievement, it's best to stick to this plan.
If possible, bring a friend (or two or a dozen). If you're going for specific achievements, it can be helpful to have someone else there to assist, keep you alive, or just to look out for you. By the same token, try to stay with the group for the most part. Unless you know what you're doing (and I mean
really
know what you're doing, the group is the safest place to be.
Be patient. A lot of these achievements are things you'll get close to a few times before you actually earn it. That's why they're achievements. Some take practice, others take timing, and others take the perfect mix of a good group and luck. But just remember that statistically speaking, if you keep going for it, eventually you will.
Try (and I do mean try) not to get caught up in the aggression and insulting that is prevalent in PVP. Gaming is about having fun, not to mention that arguing amongst one's own team is a waste of resources, effort, and most importantly, time that could be spent trying to win the battleground or kill the enemy. If someone thinks you're doing something wrong, either stick to what you're doing if you know you're right, or ask one of the battleground leaders or a guildmate. Chances are, if you show you want to improve, most people will take the time to help. That's not always true, of course, so don't take it personally if you're ignored - unless it's by a guildmate, but that's another issue altogether.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, gear up as you're able! There are vendors who specifically sell PVP gear using the marks you'll earn PVP-ing, and craftsmen can create gear as well. Resistance is your new best friend. It helps you stay alive as you fight other players, so while your PVE gear might be the best in-game, it's not for PVP. Get the appropriate gear or you'll be the other team's favorite punching bag.
Warsong Gulch
Mapping it Out
Alliance players start at the top of the map, in Silverwing Hold. Horde players begin in the Warsong Lumber Mill, located at the bottom of the map. A flag is planted inside each of these buildings, and can be stolen by opposing players who click on it. To capture a flag, one's own flag must be in place and the player holding the opposing team's flag needs to run over it.
Strategizing
Most teams split into offensive and defensive groups. The offensive group typically consists of players with speed boosts, while the defensive group contains players with an abundance of stuns. Of course each group benefits from having a mix of these two types, since the opposing team will be stunning, racing ahead, and dealing damage at the same time. The only time to killing opposing players is when it benefits the flag capture or defense.
Tactical groups will split their team based on strengths and weaknesses to best suit the battleground. It's important to coordinate in Warsong Gulch more so than some of the other battlegrounds because of the lack of focus on killing opposing members. In other battlegrounds, where it can be beneficial to take down a lone player at low health, in Warsong Gulch it may come at the risk of losing a flag. Defenders should focus on killing the flag carrier while stunning, interrupting, or killing the healers. Offensive players will need to support their flag carrier by keeping them moving and near maximum health, killing anyone who is a realistic threat.
Single-Battle Achievements
战歌峡谷胜利
: Win Warsong Gulch.
Be on the team that successfully captures the flag three times before the opposing team in order to receive this achievement.
夺旗
: Personally carry and capture the flag in Warsong Gulch.
As the achievement text implies, one must personally capture the flag - though it is not imperative that the player capturing the flag be the one who initially stole it. Some players will hand off the flag by dropping it on the ground and allowing someone else to pick it up, and this technique may be easier to complete the achievement.
疯狂防御者
: Return 5 flags in a single Warsong Gulch battle.
Defensive players with speed and accuracy will be able to complete this achievement, as it requires not only forcing the flag to be dropped but also personally clicking the flag before another player.
完美战歌峡谷
: Win Warsong Gulch with a score of 3 to 0.
A strong team can complete this achievement without too much difficulty. Otherwise, it can require a bias on one team's part in terms of ability or stubbornness.
战歌如风
: Win Warsong Gulch in under 7 minutes.
A well-organized, strong team can accomplish this without too much difficulty, but it certainly requires a bias toward one team in terms of ability. Otherwise, it may come down to the wire in completing the achievement.
铁人
: In a single Warsong Gulch battle, carry and capture the flag 3 times without dying.
It is more important to not die for this achievement than anything else. Of course, the player should be in the offensive group, but it is not necessary that the player be the initial thief of the flag, only that they capture it. Players may find it easiest with a team that is aware of their goal in order to focus heals on them, as well as executing a plan to pass off the flag safely.

: In Warsong Gulch, kill a player who is under the effects of the speed power-up.
The speed power-up is a shining ball of light hovering in select areas around the battleground and any player can pick it up by running through it. To receive the achievement, players must receive an honorable kill credit for killing the player while the opposing player is under the effects. Staking out the boost may be the best way to earn credit.

: In a single Warsong Gulch battle, kill 2 flag carriers before they leave the Flag Room.
A player will want to be on the defensive team in order to achieve this goal. It will require allowing an opposing player to steal the flag before utilizing all stuns and dealing damage to kill them off. Healers should also be stunned to avoid them delaying the kill, as it is only valid when the flag carrier is still in the flag room.

: Grab the flag and capture it in under 75 seconds.
The compiled use of speed boosts will be necessary to move quickly across the battleground. Remember that it is necessary for one's own flag to be in place before capturing the opponent's flag, so either have a strong defensive team or time the capture perfectly.
好险
: Kill the enemy who is carrying your flag in the opposing team's flag room while the opposing team's flag is at their base, within their control.
This achievement requires nail-biting precision, as it allows the opposing team to get exceptionally close to capturing the flag. Note that it is not necessary to return the flag, only to kill the flag carrier. Because of this, as well as the strong likelihood that the majority of the other team will be in the flag room as well, the entire group should be waiting in the enemy flag room in order to give the best chance at completing this achievement. Stuns should also be used to stop the flag carrier from progressing too close to capturing the flag as well as to keep them from dropping the flag prematurely.
Other Achievements

: Return 50 flags as a defender in Warsong Gulch.
Personally return 50 of your team's flags to their base by clicking on them when they are on the ground. Flags fall to the ground upon being dropped by the player who was carrying them when the player dies, but also can be placed on the ground purposefully by the carrier by right-clicking on the flag buff icon.

: Kill 100 flag carriers in Warsong Gulch.
Receive an honorable kill credit for the death of a flag carrier 100 times. This achievement does not require that the player be the killing blow hit or in any way participate in the death of the flag carrier, only that they receive an honorable kill.

: Gain exalted reputation with the Silverwing Sentinels or Warsong Outriders.
Earn Exalted reputation by participating in the Warsong Gulch battleground sufficient times. Reputation can be earned through capturing the flag and completing a battleground.
战歌峡谷精英
: Complete 100 victories in Warsong Gulch.
Time is of the essence for this achievement - time spent in Warsong Gulch, that is. Depending on the strength of a team relative to the opposing one, this achievement can come sooner or later. However, the minimum number of battlegrounds required to complete this achievement is 100 - plenty of time to earn the other achievements in the battleground as well! It should also be noted that the achievement does not specify the battleground level, so low-level Warsong Gulch battlegrounds will count toward this achievement.

Under "Warsong Gulch Veteran," you say " the minimum number of battlegrounds required to complete this achievement is 100 - plenty of time to earn the other achievements in the battleground as well!"
Actually, the most time-consuming achievement
by far
is "Exalted." Unless this was nerfed recently it's one of the biggest grinds in the entire game, requiring you to cap 1200 flags. Not your team -- you personally have to cap the flag 1200 times.
EDIT: Now that I check, yes, it was nerfed; as of 4.3.3, Exalted is no longer required for the Warsong meta-achievement.
