New customization options for Void Elves include an ear length option similar to Blood Elves, new hair colors and a tentacle toggle option to remove tentacles from hairstyles that have them. What am I into? Let's just say some of my proclivities can run a bit... dark.
I do my best work in the shadows. Allow me to demonstrate.

Would you believe purple has always been my favorite color? Even before I went void, I mean.
Alleria is my favorite Windrunner sister. Edgier than Vereesa, but slightly less homicidal than the dead one.
The fact that I wield void energies doesn't mean I plan to consume everything I see. After all, I have a figure to maintain.

I find this ok, I mean, I've got the achiev unlocked, I've got the rep, and so does anyone who played the game, Argussian Reach rep is out for a long time, emissary's for it pop often, so it's not really a problem to get it. It all comes naturally from playing the game. As a matter of fact, I've got all the allied races basicaly unlocked, it's just an achiev for some quests and rep's that are out for more than a year now. They will probably make it easier to get with Battle for Azeroth, like some "Medallion of the Legion" token or something. Plus, I really like the "do this and you will be rewarded with this" type of unlocking stuff. It feels rewarding to me, and also, you have all the time in the world to get those races unlocked. Doing the quest achiev's for any race doesn't take more than like 3-4 hours, you will get rep, do some emissary quests, run some dungeons that give rep for that faction, and that's it.

Anyone else wishing that at least *one* of the Void Elf faces should be smiling a bit? At least a tiny little smirk? The current models, without exception, look completely de-void of emotion (yes, I had to go there).
Blizz, is there still time to tweak the pixels a bit?

My question is, will they give us a 13th toon allowance on a server?
I have 12 ea on my 2 main Allied and Horde servers all there for a reason.
I do NOT want to have to delete one!

Question: Can I complete the unlock for Void Elves or the Lightforged Dreanei with a Horde character? (or the Horde races with an Alliance character)? For example, if I primarly play one faction enough to get the required reputations, but wish to play an Allied Race on the other faction. Will I be able to do so, or will I need to grind all the levels and reputation on a race of that faction before I can unlocked the Allied race?

Also, I keep seeing people reference the Void Elf ability Spacial Rift 空间裂隙 as being like Blink, but it seems to me it is much more similar to that of Demonic Circle for Warlocks. Clicking one button to establish a teleport. Then a second time to teleport to that location. I understand the phrasing is vague, but I would assume that you would always teleport to a location you chose rather than some random place around the rift you made, so teleporting to your rift makes more sense. It may also mean, you can place the rift wherever you wish to place it, not just at your feet. Like using an Eye of Kilrogg to drop a Demonic Circle away from the Warlock, then teleporting to it. Just my thoughts on that functionality.

Is this really what people wanted though? A lot of people have been asking specifically for High Elves on the Alliance for years, and even though this is the closest we're probably gonna get, it's not the same. I, personally, specifically wanted elves with blue irises and yellow-ish/pink (depending on how you look at it) skin: like High elves of The Silver Covenant. And I came to understand that those High Elves of The Silver Covenant were the race that other people like me asked for too. Not this race. Those aesthetic differences matter, aesthetics are what most people choose the race for. Obviously there is a large group of people who choose races based on gameplay effectiveness, but, if I understand correctly, they're not the majority. In the end, I presume I should be grateful Alliance gets any kind of "High-ish" elves at all, but I am really not. I didn't ask for this.

On an even more personal note: I really hoped that if we get High Elves I could race-change my paladin and finally play a High Elven paladin on Alliance (there are examples of them in lore and in-game, so it's not unheard of). As of right now I can either play human on Alliance or Blood elf on Horde, none of which are really what I want. And now that we finally get the "High Elves" on Alliance, they changed them in such a way that I can't play a paladin as one. I know, I know, I'm whining, but it's really disappointing, I'm sorry.

I just started the rep grind and I'm already annoyed by it. This has got to be the most difficult of the four to get, I got honored within a day maybe a day and a half of questing for Highmountain and Nightfallen but I'm not even friendly with the Reach yet. The one weekly can't be done solo, at least I can't do it solo because chests drop maybe 2 or 3 of the shards and rares are all elites with 100+ mil hp. There are all those arbitrary caps and wait times when it comes to the weeklies and world quests since there are no dailies. The more I think about it the less I want to do it, over a month of grinding a rep so I can spend another few weeks leveling a toon or shelling out 30 dollars to race-change an existing toon. Sorry it's just frustrating, I'm not especially happy with the new Alliance races to begin with and the only one I want to play has a barrier that seems like more trouble than it's worth. Definitely feels like the Alliance got the short straw on this, both of our races are more or less just basic recolors and are also much more difficult to get.

I couldn't help myself and fully explored the weird instanced version of Ghostlands they use for the Void Elf unlock quests.

As I was running between the quest items, I noticed a horde NPC that was neutral instead of hostile. So I hopped around to all the quest hubs to see if I could find anything cool. All the hubs had a mix of neutral and hostile NPCs. I could talk to some Horde vendors, but none of them had anything that Alliance couldn't get from any other vendor.

The guards were interesting. They're still pvp flagged, but are neutral, and level 60 instead of 110. Running through them will spawn a 110 guard, who is also neutral and will make attacking sounds at you but won't actually be attacking you or putting you in combat.

The fun part of all of this is that I was able to learn the flight path, and set my hearthstone to Tranquillien, the horde town in Ghostlands. I tested this after finishing the quests and it actually works, spawns me into real non-instanced Tranquillien, right on top of the hostile innkeeper and hostile 110 guards. The flight path did give me the "new flight path discovered" text, but I don't see it on my flight map.

I did also try to dip in to Eversong to see if I could do the same in Silvermoon, but as soon as you cross the border you end up in real, non-instanced Eversong.

I imagine they'll fix these things but until then it's a fun place to have my hearthstone set!

Hey guys i dont want to seem stupid, but if im read all this correctly This IS NOT for Horde. That ive got the expansion and a cool new mount - but only the Aliance can participate in unlocking the void elves.So please correcrt me if im wrong.

As for the heritage armor. Do you know if I had to level up a character for a race only once to get the armor and could use it on other characters of that race even if they were boosted and had other armor type? Or is the armor then only for that toon only?

Has no one noticed that the "glowing hair tendrils" look suspiciously like Draenei tendrils?

Have the Draenei been touched by the Void themselves in the past? Could this be why they have the Broken, who have the extra tendrils on their bodies?

Tested Last week for Rep Grind:

I believe it is worth noting that you can complete invasion Portals for rep tokens multiple times a day. The only requirement is that they appear on your map. If an invasion point is on your map it is loot-able for rep tokens. I did 5 portals yesterday and got a token from each portal. This works for both Army of the Light and Argussian Reach!

I've done the quests to unlock these - the guide says "You have now earned the Allied Races: Lightforged Draenei achievement and can create a Lightforged Draenei." - but I can't actually make one yet, or any of the races I've "unlocked". Is this actually not available until the next expac? I know I've seen people who have race changed level cap characters.

so basically because all I have is horde characters, I have to blow my 110 on an alliance character ill never play to start a void elf. silly, if blizzards goal is to get more people to play alliance.

The pushback immunity to casting would be quite attractive for casters in PvP though I doubt it would outweight the human racial.

The Void Elves are not particularly liked in the Stormwind Cathedral

萨尔努修士 who normally welcomes you to the Cathedral says:

"Oh! Hello there...fellor member of the Alliance.

I mean no disrespect, but... I'm just not entirely sure the cathedral is the most... appropriate place for... for...

For someone who indulges such... unique proclivities."

A few steps further in, 达索瑞恩·拉尔 says:

I really like the new race, but this really looks like the blood elf race for horde, they even use the strider mount. Just seems this would have been more fitting to horde than alliance. Just my opinion

I do hope Blizzard adjusts their animations and gives them new dances so they're not quite so much Blood Elf clones. Same for the other variants of existing races (Nightborne, Highmountain, Dark Iron, Mag'har).

I would like to see the void elves can be a paladin, I do not know why the blizzard
always does things halfway. First, make blood elves for the alliance and then, without
reason, make the blood elves are from the void, and it is not well received by the
alliance, but the horde receives the nightborne, without any change. Afterwards, the
void elves can not be paladins but they can be priests of the light, something
ambiguous and illogical, they can not relate to the light because they are corrupt,
but even though the blood elves are corrupt, they can be paladins because they stolen
something to the draenei, so? I think the blizzard forgot the good reasons for all and
makes everything ambiguous.

So uhhh... Does Horde get Preternatural Calm casting? Because that's kind of overpowered especially for Healers. If that's staying then they should get rid of the Priest class for Void Elves. They can have the damage.

So I just got exalted with Argussian Reach and I have the You Are Now Prepared achievement. Both checks out at the embassy, but there's no quest for the recruitment scenario available. What am I doing wrong ?

To unlock these races after the BfA launch, I had to complete the Kul Tiras intro quests as far as reaching the town of Boralus (this took about 20 minutes, after completing the Battle for Lordaeron scenario which is initiated by auto-accept quest in Stormwind "Hour of Reckoning").

Here's hoping someone can give me some guidance...
I never completed Legion thus never unlocked Argus. I have started BFA, halfway into Tiragarde and did the first few quests for War Campaign.
But I still can not unlock any Allied races.
No quests at Alliance embassy and no way to access Argus as I am blocked on the Legion quest line (dungeon quest, my lvl 112)

If, like me, you find yourself in the situation where you don't get the 'The Call for Allies' quest when you log in/enter Stormwind City, but you are sure that you meet ALL of the requirements. Begin your Kul'Tiras campaign, completing all quests up to the point of gaining the achievement 'Come Sail Away'. Then return to Stormwind and the quest should pop up for you to go and speak to Anduin Wrynn at the Stormwind Embassy to begin your allied races quests.

Yeesh, do we really need another 45 elves? Why can't we have something unique and interesting, like a human with blue eyes! Or, or, I know, purple goat people! We've never had those before! /sarcasm
Lazy palette swaps... Why not the little fox dudes, or the tortollans? Something actually interesting... but, then they'd have to think up new mounts, rather than 'a horse without a saddle' or 'griffon #69,105' Some of the alliance mounts are really dumb looking (fuglyphants and oversize chickens, I'm trying not to look at you here), but at least they're different...

Annoyingly, on my alliance character, I have all of the reps I would need to get the Horde races. And basically none of the rep for the alliance...

So..... h-o-w. do you unlock them? Or any of the others? This has probably been then poorest blizzard's ever done and communicating intent. And none of these guides are really guides.

Do I need to go do a bunch of stuff in legion? Do I need to stand on my head, spin clockwise and talk backwards?

Why can't Void Elves be Druids or Shaman?
This makes no sense to me, as I am almost done unlocking this race, but cannot use it for anything, unless I start a new character, and level them all the way up to 120, which is ridiculous....
I wanted to change my Night Elf Druid to a Void Elf Druid, but Blizz decided that they cannot be Druids for whatever reason. So I thought I would change my Draenei Shaman to a Void Elf, but it seems they can't be Shaman either. Is it a waste of time to finish unlocking this race, if they cannot be any of the classes? Why the class restrictions Blizzard?
I do have a max level Rogue too, but I was happy with her being Human really!
