雷文德斯雷文德斯雷文德斯Venthyr CovenantThe venthyr are aristocratic overseers of souls burdened with excessive pride and wickedness. They guide troubled souls upon the rigorous path to atonement, harvesting anima to keep their realm strong.

Quick facts:

The Venthyr Covenant was first introduced in 暗影国度.
This Covenant's story mostly takes place in 雷文德斯.
Chronologically, this storyline is set after the events of the original stories of the 暗影国度 zones, but at the same time as the stories of the other Covenants.
The Venthyr Covenant Sanctum is Sinfall.
The Venthyr are supposed to be lead by 德纳修斯大帝. However, there is a rebellion against him which is lead by his son, 雷纳索尔王子.
Aside from 德纳修斯大帝, the most powerful leaders within the zone are members of The Court of Harvesters. Each Harvester usually holds one of the seven Medallions of Harvesters, which are the primary source of power in 雷文德斯.
The politics of 雷文德斯 are complicated and filled with intrigue, with both major and minor noble houses constantly conspiring to gain influence and power.
雷文德斯 is meant to be the zone that the most prideful and unrepentant of souls go to for one last chance at redemption. Here, the Venthyr attempt to help these souls find atonement. After 雷文德斯, souls may move on to a better afterlife, decide to stay with the Venthyr, or - if they are found to be truly irredeemable - be sentenced to 噬渊.

A total of 2x 名望 can be earned each week from weeklies.

Quests from the main campaign will also occasionally offer 名望, usually about 1x a week.

Venthyr Covenant Summary

Chapter 1 - Sinfall
Having been asked to choose a Covenant, you join the Venthyr and learn about various aspects of your new role. You are gifted special abilities unique to the Venthyr, unlock Covenant Callings, and you are rewarded with your first Renown. You venture into the Maw, where you rescue souls and bring them back to help your Covenant with the help of a broker named Ve'nari, and witness Baine Bloodhoof being dragged into Torghast, Tower of the Damned. You form a special bond with Nadjia the Mistblade in the Soulbind ritual, and learn how to unlock certain upgrades in your Covenant Sanctuary.

Chapter 2 - Torghast
You are summoned to Oribos by Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, who suggests you ask Ve'nari in the Maw if she can help you find Baine. Ve'nari is already expecting you and helps you access Torghast, where you rescue Baine from Warden Arkoban. You discover a strange object on the warden and soon learn it unlocks a special area in Torghast, where the Runecarver is being kept chained by the Jailer. You help the Runecarver recover some of his memories and unshackle one of his arms. In return, he promises to help you gain more power.

Chapter 3 - The Court of Harvesters
You attempt to help Prince Renathal gather the Court of Harvesters, in an attempt to win their support for your cause. The Countess, the Tithelord, and the Stonewright all attend, but not one agrees to help. You and Theotar become Soulbinds.

Chapter 4 - Desire
You're tasked with getting the Medallion of Desire from the Countess. With the help of Theotar's former butler, Bogdan, you sneak into the Countess's estate through the secret entrance from Theotar's old estate, only to find she's expecting you. You help her uncover a treasonous plot within her court, and in return she gives you the Medallion of Desire, along with a promise that she will be quite willing to attend any parties you throw in the future.

Chapter 5 - Avarice
You are tasked with helping the Curator find her Medallion of Avarice. She's hidden it through a mirror which she has broken and given the pieces to her subordinates to take care of. You find Watcher Emil with his piece, but Sinkeeper Mateo has betrayed the Curator and you have to take his from him by force. Finally, you are able to venture through the mirror and obtain the Medallion of Avarice, which you use to further empower Sinfall.

Chapter 6 - The Crowned Prince
You, General Draven and Theotar head to Bastion where you enlist Mikanikos's help in forging several medallions together into the Crown of the Harvesters. Once it is forged, you need to help purge it of the Echo of Denathrius. You bring the purified Crown of the Harvesters back to Prince Renathal, who uses it to increase the power of Sinfall.

Chapter 7 - Confronting Sin
You assist the Accuser in helping Kael'thas Sunstrider on his path to redemption. He's been burdened with the sins of others, and you have to purge him of those first. Once that's done, you need to help him confront his own sins. During this journey, you discover something quite worrying - a plot by the Tithelord to siphon anima out of Revendreth to Maldraxxus. It's news that causes Prince Renathal a great deal of concern, and he will need to reach out to your allies in Maldraxxus to plan what to do next.

Chapter 8 - Envy
Baroness Draka joins you and together you help Prince Renathal rally the Tithelord's oppressed citizens. You lead a revolution, overthrow the Tithelord, and recover the Medallion of Envy. You discover the Tithelord was working with Kel'Thuzad, and return to Sinfall, where you begin preparations to attack the archlich directly.

Chapter 9 - Dominion
In the final chapter, you join Baroness Draka and her Necrolord forces to assault Kel'Thuzad at his Necropolis. You finally manage to defeat him, retrieving the Medallion of Dominion, the final medallion. With this victory, your covenant is finally at full power again, and Revendreth is able to return to its original purpose.

Now, let us get to business.冥殇原则1：逃跑计划Many doomed souls suffer within the Maw. You must be careful if you do not wish to join them.

Your Soulkeeper can hold a small number of souls until you return to your covenant. But that will be of little benefit if you do not survive this place yourself.

There is a substance, stygia, that is found on some creatures within the Maw. The stronger the soul, the more stygia they have.

Collect some of it for me and I can fashion it into many things you will find quite useful.

Ve'nari says: Rule 1: Always have an exit strategy. To ensure one's continued existence within the Maw, one must maintain a plan of escape at all times.
Ve'nari says: I acknowledge the irony of me creating this rule despite my current inability to depart this place. You may laugh--briefly--without causing offense.

That should be enough to hide us from the Jailer's sight.

May this medallion grant authority over venthyr who have succumbed to the very corruption they serve to exsanguinate.

A Note on Medallions

The Medallions of the Harvesters play an important role in 雷文德斯. Usually, each member of the Court of Harvesters holds one of these medallions, as both a mark of their position and a source of great power.

Though there are seven medallions, it's currently only possible to collect six.

The first medallion, the 恐惧勋章 was found before this campaign began - during The Story of Revendreth.

Four medallions are collected during this campaign: The 欲望勋章, the 贪婪勋章, the 嫉妒勋章, and the 统御勋章.

A sixth medallion, the 骄傲勋章, can be taken from the 宫务大臣 during the 赎罪大厅 dungeon. This takes place during the side quest 赎罪大厅：骄傲勋章 rather than during the main questline.

The final, seventh medallion, the Medallion of Wrath, is in possession of 锻石师. It is unobtainable prior to Patch 9.1.

The 收割者之冠' original stated purpose is to make it possible for one wearer to wield all seven medallions at once - the power would be too great to handle otherwise.

Quite a few typos in chapter 6 and for the beginning, I wish the choice dialogue wasn't repeated on every covenant's page -- one would assume you'd have already chosen by now!

Also, I have to note that the summary doesn't mention or refer to these all-important lines from Prince Renathal in the chapter 1 dialogue that best explains his overall plan:

Prince Renathal says: His grasp on this realm comes from the medallions he created, each containing a fraction of his power, given to subordinates that would obey without question.
Prince Renathal says: We must secure these medallions, and with them, usher in a new era that would see Revendreth return to its true purpose.

So, is the Medallion of Wrath never obtained? The note says that the stoneborn will never turn against the Stonewright, and unless she is willing to give it to us, we stand little chance of getting it. So...we just never complete the set?

starting chapter 8 tells me that rescuing laurent from the ember ward is a requirement. ive done that and unlocked the mirror network in sinfall, where laurent now hangs out, but it still says that as a req for envy

We never defeated the Stonewright or claimed her mediallion (Wrath), so this wowhead article is inaccurate regarding the final chapter (9) of the Venthyr campaign. Even like, the Accuser or the Curator in the final cutscene literally says, "We don't have all the medallions yet, will it be enough?" etc.

Clearly the story remains unfinished and Revendreth still needs more story before our campaign is truly finished. I believe that's why they included us as part of the Necrolord campaign to fight Kel'Thuzad - not only does he have history with Kael'Thas, but it allows for fluff-story while we can't finish our own story yet (for some reason?).

Also, what exactly is the purpose of the Crown? It was never fully explained in the story and I feel like the writers saying it's "Just to increase the power of Sinfall" is kinda like, "wut?"

To fight the Jailer...? Or...? I guess?

Admittedly a bit late, I got things a bit out of order and was stymied at Chapter 3. I was already 60 and could see WQs. Unfortunately, Prince Renethal is not only a WQ giver, he also gives a number of Campaign quests. I say that because his blue WQ quests masks the yellow/gold Campaign quests. (As an example, 照管者 is hidden by 炽蓝仙野的召唤 ("A Call to Ardenweald" - the markup tag didn't work here). IHMO the Campaign quests should be on top. Or more simply just have someone or something else offer the Campaign quests. It took me two hours to discover the "missing" Campaign quest.
