is a faction composed of a singular NPC of the same name that is located in
. Players will want to gain reputation with Ve'nari because she possesses an array of items that make your time spent completing content in
and Torghast easier. Additionally, those who take the time to grind out reputation with
will also gain access to additional items that will help them in their endeavors across the Shadowlands.
Changes to Ve'nari Reputation in 9.1
With the changes to the Maw in Chains of Domination, Ve'nari reputation also changed a bunch. Here are all the changes:
With the removal of the Eye of the Jailer through Chains of Domination quests,
you no longer have a daily limit to farm Ve'nari reputation
.
However, to compensate for the removal of the Eye of the Jailer, Ve'nari no longer offers weekly quests, with these quests now being turned into dailies and giving reduced Reputation and
.
Ve'nari now has a Paragon reputation, granting you
every 10k reputation beyond Appreciative.
With the effects of
gained during the first chapters of the Chains of Domination campaign, Ve'nari reputation is no longer required to gain access to Perdition Hold or Beastwarrens. You must still grind reputation to gain the quests that grant the achievements
and
.
There are several new ways to gain reputation with Ve'nari:
The weekly quest
allows you to exchange 0
for
1000 Reputation
with Ve'nari.
All the new Maw rares and most of the Korthia rares give reputation with Ve'nari, giving
100-150 Reputation
per kill.
The first Tormentors of Torghast event done every week grants
200 Reputation
with Ve'nari via
.
Killing Ve'nari's investigator
in Korthia starts a quest that gives a one-time
1000 Reputation
with Ve'nari,
.
With Shadowlands entering Season 2, Ve'nari will no longer sell Season 1 sockets and conduits. Season 2 Sockets and Conduits can be purchased with
reputation.
Ve'nari Reputation Rewards
Most Ve'nari Maw and Torghast improvements are account-wide, so you only need to grind rep on one character for these.
All Ve'nari reputation rewards are sold by
, who can be found at Ve'nari's Refuge in
at (46.8, 41.6).
Unlike other reputations,
does not have normal reputation levels, but a Trust system similar to the one seen from Farmers in Pandaria or Fishing Friends in Legion. Ve'nari has 6 reputation levels:
Dubious - 0/1000
Apprehensive - 0/6000
Tentative - 0/7000
Ambivalent - 0/7000
Cordial - 0/21000

Stygia
is the currency used to purchase items from
. The primary way to gather this currency is by completing content in
such as saving souls, completing dailies, and slaying enemies such as rares and elites. The more time spent in The Maw, the more time the player has to gather Stygia. However, be warned:
Dying while within
will cause players to lose 20% of their current
!
A Note About Corpse Running
Dying in
is not like dying in other Shadowlands quest zones. Instead of turning into a ghost and running back to your body, you are automatically resurrected at a graveyard. If you run back to the location where you died, you are able to loot the skeleton you left behind, recovering all the
lost on death.
IMPORTANT:
If you die a second time without recovering the Stygia from your previous death, the Stygia lost on the first death will be
gone for good
.
The Eye of the Jailer
IMPORTANT NOTE:
With Patch 9.1, Chains of Domination, you are able to completely nullify the effects of the Eye of the Jailer by completing the storyline up to the end of chapter 3,
, as the Eye of the Jailer will retreat from watching over the Maw to become a boss in the Sanctum of Domination raid.
The information on the Eye of the Jailer is being kept on this guide for historical purposes.
is a debuff players receive from completing daily quests, killing rares and special encounters, and looting treasures. There are a total of 5 tiers of this debuff and the higher the tier the player is on, the more deadly the threat they face is. While the threats start off small (i.e. an aoe circle is periodically placed under you that you need move out of), at tier 5 it remains nearly impossible to stay within
. Players can track their current level of threat via an icon in the top-middle of their UI.
Unfortunately, the only way to reduce the effects of
is to wait until the daily reset before venturing back out into
.
There are 5 levels of Eye of the Jailer threats, each one more dangerous than the previous one. The effects of the Eye of the Jailer will not affect you while in Ve'nari's Refuge. Here is what each level does:
Tier 1:
- Soulseekers are now hostile to you.
are mobs that roam around the Maw and are usually neutral. They are heavy hitters with abilities like
and
.
Tier 2:
- Towers will periodically attack your location, damaging you and chaining you in place.
s will be cast at your location periodically. If hit, you will suffer heavy damage and chained to the floor. The chains can be broken by clicking them.
Tier 3:
- The Jailer will periodically send assassins after you.
Periodically you will get the
debuff. With this debuff, the next time you enter in combat, an Assassin will spawn and attempt to kill you. They are not very dangerous mobs, but they cast
, which will further increase your Eye of the Jailer threat.
Tier 4:
- Stygian Abductors now seek your demise.
Every so often, a
will abduct you and slowly fly up, inflicting you with
. Once the Abductor is high enough, it will cast
and hurl you away. You can kill an Abductor before Quietus Strike happens, but make sure you have a
or other forms of fall damage to safely land.
Tier 5:
- Your healing taken is increasingly reduced. When your healing taken reaches -100%, you suffer Shadow damage until you die.
Each stack of Immediate Extermination reduces healing taken by 10%. With a new stack being applied every 20 seconds, you have a little over 3 minutes to get out of The Maw before the debuff fully stacks up. Once at max stacks, you will take 10% of your max health in Shadow damage every second.
In addition to Immediate Extermination, you will receive the
debuff, which reduces all Stygia and Ve'nari reputation gains by 100%. You can still turn in quests with this debuff, but mobs and rares/events will no longer grant Stygia or reputation.
Gaining Access to Ve'nari
To gain access to
, players must first reach
and then progress their covenant questline until they receive one of the four quests:
(Kyrian)
(Necrolord)
(Night Fae)
(Venthyr)
After turning in their quest to
, they will then complete the short introductory questline below:
Once this questline is complete,
will begin offering her weekly quests and players can complete content within
for
.
Gaining Reputation With Ve'nari
Gaining reputation with
is all about maximizing the time you spend within the
. While there is no set time limit players are allowed to spend within The Maw, because of
, players will find themselves gradually pushed out by the increasing difficulty of the zone environment as they complete tasks and open treasures.
Acquiring Maw Lore Items
Maw lore items are green and blue items that have a chance to drop from various enemies including rares and elites. Players who acquire these items can turn them in to
for 100 (if an Uncommon Maw Lore) or 150 (if a Rare Maw Lore) each. There are a total of 22 lore items, and collecting all the lore items awards the player with the
achievement.
Rares
Rare spawns are another type of enemy that are denoted as with rare star vignettes on the minimap. Rares in
and
can be difficult to solo and may require additional players to defeat. There are a total of 29 rare spawns within The Maw and 20 in Korthia. Killing each rare awards 80-150 reputation each, depending on the difficulty of the rare. Killing 5 rares awards the
achievement and killing all the rares found within
awards
. Killing all rares in Korthia and the newly added rares in Desmotaeron awards
.
For more information on rares at the Maw and Korthia, check our rare guides!
The Maw Rares GuideKorthia and Desmotaeron Rares
Special Encounters
Special encounters are 1 of 2 types of elite mobs marked on the minimap with a skull. There are a total of 19 special encounters, and players who complete special encounters will receive 40 reputation per one completed. Killing 5 special encounters will award the
achievement and killing all the special encounters found within
awards
.
For more information on events at the maw, check our event guide!
The Maw Events Guide
Daily Quests
Each day,
two daily quests will appear somewhere in The Maw. Each daily quest grants 75 Reputation and 0
. These quests grant you 50% of a level for the Eye of the Jailer immediately when you complete the daily quest objective, so be careful with your threat levels when doing these.

Wrath of the Jailer Events
Every hour, the Jailer will focus his wrath in a specific area in The Maw. When a Wrath of the Jailer event is available, players can go to the area and defeat mobs to fill an objective bar. Once this objective bar is fully completed, a powerful lieutenant of the Jailer will spawn. This lieutenant has a lot of health and will likely require a group to defeat.
This event can be completed once a week and grants 50% of a threat bar, 250 reputation with Ve'nari and 0
. You also have a chance to obtain a ilvl183 piece of gear from the lieutenant.
Tormentors of Torghast Events
Every other hour, the Jailer will send his lieutenants to a specific area in The Maw. When a Tormentors of Torghast event is available, players can go to the area and defeat mobs to fill an objective bar, this area being overtaken by Torghast mobs. Once this objective bar is fully completed, a powerful Tormentor of Torghast will spawn. This torment has a lot of health and will likely require a group to defeat.
This event can be completed once a week and grants 200 reputation with Ve'nari via
and 0
. You also have a chance to obtain a ilvl200 piece of gear from the tormentor.
Reputation Boosts
Darkmoon Faire
The Darkmoon Faire offers valuable reputation buffs:
and
. These do not stack; each increases experience and reputation by 10% for an hour.

When you unlock Perdition Hold, you get a third daily quest each day.
Whoever wrote this guide better get on with the different areas of the zone.

Not sure where the third daily is today (8/12), I have cordial rep and still only see 2 daily quests.

There is a WeakAura has improved Blizzard's eye of the Jailer.
https://wago.io/xOLvG0S0F
This WA mainly solves the problem that the Blizzard's eye of the Jailer does not display detailed threat values, while trying to keep the interface simple and beautiful.
Features
Showing current threat tier and details
Customizing color at different threat tiers
Hiding blizzard's eye of the Jailer to save screen space
Animating amounts of threat increased
Threat tier tooltip (same as default UI)
Hope it helps.

Not sure if this gets read but I really hope it helps!
I've made a full route guide with ve nari in order to get 1500 rep a day after the daily hand ins. I also located all of the guaranteed drops as a part of Deciphering Deaths Intentions in order to maximise rep ASAP to get those sockets & torghast upgrades unlocked. Basically getting the maximum rep each day entails finishing the daily quests while at 5 threat, yes which is possible even after the change to the stacks resetting when at max threat. By focusing just on the 600k+ HP Rares you get 100 rep per kill and the same threat as killing a daily objective or smaller rare (which reward 40 or 80 rep respectively).
With the chance at the Maw Mount being in the beast warrens unlocking ve nari rep will be a huge advantage to getting early sockets on pieces.
I've been able to farm all but 4 of these items which has helped me get 6200 rep into cordial, including finding the guaranteed spawn location of several of the items:
Tormentors Notes (35.77 45.55)
Tormentors Box (72.59 17.62)
Wailing Coin (Odalrik)
Warsworn Orders (Cyrixia)
Words of the Warden (19.37 33.42)
Korrath's Grimoire:Aleketh (Dath Rezara)
These alone will help you get 700 rep at least (without human or Dark Moon Faire buff) as they reward 100-150 rep and can be turned in even at max threat.
Let me know if you've got anything extra to add as well, it would be great to start a detailed thread for rep grind with ve nari so we can get those sockets early!
Really hope this helps
TL;DR - Kill 600k+ HP rares, finish dailies up to 90% then 100% at threat 5, get as many of Deciphering Deaths Intentions (Achievement) items as possible

Every time I leave Ve'nari to go into the maw I expect to hear "You're powered up, get in there"
Love it! <3

Seems like the Maw and Torghast aren't really terribly useful for casual players. Torghast is fun..don't get me wrong.. but everything seems to require massive amounts of grinding.
Do the maw so torghast is easier... do torghast so you can travel the maw easier.
I see a legendary or two but.. am I missing something?
I do enjoy running Torghast but I thought maybe it would play into slightly more casual play too.

And does anyone recall Bliz saying that rep grinding would be a thing of the past come this expansion.
So they might not call it rep .... but it seems if you have a toon that is a crafter there is more (not called rep) grinding in this expansion and with more factions than any other previous expansion.
I'll also add that I have always resented having to run out of the ordinary content to get the patterns or recipes I need make the items I want and to pick up mats I need to make them.

At the very top of this page, under the
"
Daily Route on Farming Ve'nari Reputation
"
Here's a TL;DR guide on how to farm Ve'nari Reputation:
There is a bullet point that says
Pick up and complete any dailies you see in The Maw, these should be scattered around the map. Each daily quest grants 75 Reputation and 140 Stygia, but also grant a full level of Eye of the Jailer threat when you finish the quest's objective.
This should be corrected to
"also grant half a level of Eye of the Jailer threat when you finish the quest's objective".

This guide harbors misinformation. Ve'nari rep is not account wide.
评论来自
AriesShion
It might also be useful to note that while the permanent upgrades for Torghast are account-wide -- meaning that once you buy them on your main you won't see hem offered to your alts -- the Maw upgrades don't appear to be.

SugarInFurs
>However, to compensate for the removal of the Eye of the Jailer, Ve'nari no longer offers weekly quests, with these quests now being turned into dailies and giving reduced Reputation and Stygia.
Can't have TOO much fun!

AriesShion
Note that certain rares/bonus objectives (e.g., Odalrik, Sousmith) now only give 40 rep (44 with Human racial Diplomacy bonus), not a minimum of 80 as clamed here.

Scaryfox
I apparently only got to the third tier since I have some progress on killing the assassins. I couldn't imagine the 5th one albeit you can probably teleport out.
