To most efficiently pickpocket, get 被烧毁的雕文 and approach your enemies from behind to avoid detection in melee range.

To speed up travel, consider using 夜行者, , and 附魔靴子 - 熊猫人步法.

If you see a mob with a blue eyeball over its head—run away, it has increased stealth detection.

A pickpocketed mob will take roughly 10 minutes to replenish its pockets: try farming and resetting a dungeon if you are impatient.

You can pickpocket most humanoids and some additional mobs as well; a good rule-of-thumb is that if it looks like it has pockets, it probably does. And it never hurts just to stealth up and try your luck anyway; you can even pickpocket some bosses. Just make sure you don't right-click the mob in melee range and auto-attack it by accident.

My lamp currently suffers from an embarrassing lack of magic and could always use more beautiful decorations. I propose a trade. I shall pierce this sinister Sindorei veil, and you shall give me the spoils of your theft."

空气硬币: Speak to Al'Abas again! This time he explains how 空气硬币 work - when you pickpocket mobs for their treasures Al'Abas wants, you'll automatically be given 空气硬币 as thanks.

忠诚就是最好的奖赏: Al'Abas sends you out to acquire 0 空气硬币. In return, he'll give you an upgraded lamp, 闪亮的阿尔阿巴斯之灯, which allows you to loot even more lucrative treasures.

Beauty/Cosmetics

Cologne: “凛冽型”古龙水 is unique to Uldum, 凉风 from Vash’jir is perfect for a fishy smell, 牛磺酸药水 from level 80+ mobs is for Horde pride, and 熏人的古龙水 also from level 80+ mobs is good for smelling like tobacco.

There’s a series of handkerchiefs either for applying makeup or gently dabbing tears away caused by Deathwing’s destruction: 格子手帕 from level 80+ mobs, 折起来的手帕 from starting zones, and 浸水的手帕 from Northrend.

To view your reflection, fix up your 残破的镜子 from level 20-30 humanoids or 蛤壳镜 from Jinyu. Use 尾鬃梳 from Uldum on wild manes.

Keep your hands manicured during battle with 外壳打磨粉 from Northrend and 锉爪刀 from Uldum. In a pinch, 剔甲刀 from Pandaria will do too.

Use a 鳞纹海绵 from Vash’jir to freshmen up, 挠痒痒的大羽毛 from Deepholm on ticklish victims, and 痒痒挠 from Ashenvale on hard-to-reach places.

中空珍珠, from Jinyu, is the perfect container for all your jewelry.

一部催人泪下的言情小说, the original trash romance novel from Burning Crusade, turns murloc hunting into flirting between a warrior named Marcus and a Nahni, a female mage. Level 20 quest rewards were never so appealing.

Continuing in Wrath, 一部催人泪下的言情小说：《禁断之爱》 documents Marcus’ experiences with a sarcastic undead rogue in the Deeprun Tram teaching him about finishing moves and daggers.

Argent Confessor Paletress has a hidden taste for romance; you can pickpocket 一部催人泪下的言情小说：《蓝月》 from her. In this latest installment, Marcus tries to woo Soola, a draenei jewelcrafter, with a cheap necklace. Will she spurn his advances or will the Light soothe all nerves?

一部催人泪下的言情小说：《大号铜弹》, the Cataclysm installment, follows Revi, a sassy goblin, as she prepares for her date with Marcus by buying engineering-flavored toys. The series ends here, but you’ll need a secret goblin decoder ring to read the rest of the story.

To finish out the series, 一部催人泪下的言情小说：《北地柔情》 is a possible reward in 钓鱼宝藏 from Northrend fishing dailies. In this story, Marcus shares his retribution talents with a gnome lady eager to teach him about her affliction specialization.

一部催人泪下的言情小说：《热与雾》 finds Marcus in Pandaria, where he encounters Madame Goya and sees just how much the Black Market Auction House has to offer.

The 地精绅士的画报, from 80+ humanoids, appears to have its pages stuck together as it’s unreadable.

怪异食谱 may sound tasty from level 40-60 humanoids, but it will definitely curb your appetite. A spoof from The Twilight Zone, it talks about how to roast humans.

难以辨认的英雄绞杀列表, 难以辨认的文明毁灭列表, and 难以辨认的暴民镇压列表 are three pamphlets carried by enemies in Mists of Pandaria.

Lucky Dice and Talismans

The 矮人的十面骰 from Northrend humanoids rolls between 1-10 and is perfect if your rogue wants to officiate some Dungeons and Daggers.

Gnomes are sneaky: 侏儒老千的骰子, from level 80+ humanoids, rolls sevens. Every time.

用旧的巨魔骰子 from Northrend humanoids rolls between a 1-6. Any class can obtain these three die on the AH.

好运符 is an easy talisman most anyone can get; it’s from level 20 humanoids.

In case your original Rabbit Foot isn’t cutting it, consider getting 幸运兔脚加强版, primarily from Twilight Highlands or 幸运迅猛龙之爪.

会响的弹力球 are great for staying calm during raids.

碧玉无尽护符 and 平滑的萨满图腾 are new lucky charms from Pandaria.

Rocks

There’s 漂亮的石头 mostly from Razorfen Kraul, 超级趣味石块 from Northrend, 石化气泡 from Vash’jir, and 珊瑚碎块 from level 10-20 humanoids.

For impatient rogues lacking finesse, there’s 粗糙的石器 from starting zones and 撬石 from Mount Hyjal and Deepholm.

Sadly, the mobs that dropped the 玩具石 have been removed in Cataclysm.

You can try eating rocks apparently--美味的石头 from Pandaria sprites.

普通的石英水晶 - Beware, these aren't powerful!

They aren't rocks, but the following items would make cumbersome weapons too: 光滑的大骨头 from Deepholm, 钝折刀 from Cataclysm, 石化龟蛋 from Pandaria Jinyu, 啃过的骨头 from level 10-20 zones, and 闪亮的小铲子 from level 50 naga.

Humorous Junk

多余的手 is literally an extra hand, a weapon from Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra, and Dragonblight.

幽灵灯笼 drops from level 60-70 demons and undead.

酸蚀的光亮纽扣 is a wildcard; it’s from level 20-60 oozes in Azeroth, with a fun flavor text and a decent selling price. One assumes the unlucky victim was dissolved by the acidic ooze.

胖乎乎的圣像 from select mobs in Dragonblight and Grizzly Hills, is a fun item to thrown between players during raid, a racy version of the 趣味石块.

锈蚀的铜铆钉 was originally meant to be used in 上流社会的礼帽.

侏儒雕像, from Burning Crusade, supports the theory that gnomes exist to be punted.

大蜗牛壳 looks fairly boring from Wrath murlocs, but includes the sarcastic flavor text “Sounds like the Land.”

符文石板, from Uldum, is a reference to the Rosetta Stone.

A very nice read. Having a lower level rogue, I have picked a few pockets here and there. This guide was a nice way to see what else was out in the world, which out having to pick 100's of pockets to get it.

Nice amount of content. I even like that since 4 out of 5 of the steamy romance novels are acquired from pick pocketing you do list the 5th even though its not.

The section on lock boxes could use some better formatting. The bullet lines make the content cluttered and uneven. Maybe a table would be an options here. Column headers could be <Name> <mob level> <notable drops>. Organised the same way from lowest level to highest level, it would make for a nice reference table.

The one very valuable help I got was, when I once started my rogue. A fellow rogue gave me a macro just like the one mentioned in the guide. Just combine it with every combat-starting skill you might use out of stealth (and obviously pick pockets before the skill).

Long long time ago, I can still remember (reference intended), you had to pick many many locks to push up your lock picking skill (which nowadays is not necessary anymore) and the macros gave me loads of junkboxes.

Anyway, in instances it means, there is usually only one mob whose pockets you'll pick (which you'll attack in the same moment) and there won't be enough time to go around and pick all those pockets before combat starts

this guy makes pickpocketing to complicated, so heres how i do it and i never get caught 100% of the time:

step 1: sap
step 2: pickpocket

....this isn't rocket science the fact that this isn't the first thing that anyone thinks of is strange.

Set a macro to auto-pickpocket before you garotte. That way, you never have to worry about going to the 7-11 for poisons in the middle of the night.

BTW - learned the hard way. When you start your playtime for the day, make sure your bags are *empty*. There's nothing more frustrating than being mid-instance and having your bags fill up. Yes, that was me standing there in Sunken Temple, throwing greys into the aether.

Another swift macro that I used while grinding "The Insane".
Combined with 被烧毁的雕文 it will fill your bags with lockboxes in no time. No need to target anything. Just sweep your mouse over a group of mobs and spam the macro (autoloot should be enabled).

i enjoyed the guide and with the edition of toybox went out and did the dice grind. all info was uploaded to wowhead so hopefully they will update npc's and drops of the dice.

Pickpocket is one of the two things that keep my rogues from been deleted, I used to LOVE play as one, I literally walked sneaking all vanilla-wow just for the fun of it, I used to skill up lockpicking and poison(weapon skills as well), tell other rogues where to skill up, brew my own poisons, loved the challenge of the original (and real) class quests, right now, this and picking locks is basically what makes any difference from been a leather-warrior

Needs to be updated for Legion. Specifically that you pickpocket a unique coin :Marin Noggenfoggers Lucky Coin (This means you cannot pickpocket another one, although you can see it in the loot window and /cry over it )

Then turn it into Marin Noggenfogger for a reward. If he's on a mission he will not appear (this is why I deactivated him as soon as I could, so he's always there in the vault).

I don't remember where I got this macro, but, it's fantastic. I don't understand why it works, but it does:

press the key, it pickpockets the closest target to you that is in direct line of sight. If there are more than 1 targets, it pick pockets the target that is closest to your center line of sight, no need to select a target, just walk stealthed, mashing the key while pointing at the mob you want to PP.

The Rockslice and Jaspertip mobs in Deepholm no longer have pockets to pick, and they appear to be the only sources for Disgusting Rotgut in that zone. That could mean that Mount Hyjal's Molten Front phase is the only extensive source remaining for that beverage.
