Knowledge Points are a currency in Dragonflight specifically for crafting and gathering professions. Each crafting and gathering profession has a specialization tree, where you can unlock new recipes, abilities, improvements, and profession-related secondary skill increases. These allow you to create better items and gather more efficiently, depending on your individual goals. To advance your profession's tree, you need to build Knowledge Points.
As Secondary Skills that all players can learn, Cooking, Fishing, and Archaeology do not have specialization trees and do not need Knowledge Points.
You aren't meant to get hundreds of Knowledge Points right away. While there are many one-time things you can do or collect for Knowledge Points, a main source of Knowledge Points will be repeatable Profession Trainer Quests. Knowledge points are something you will build over time. Some professions also start out slower than others, so be prepared.
About Knowledge Points in Dragonflight
Crafting Professions are
炼金术
,
锻造
,
附魔
,
工程学
,
铭文
,
珠宝加工
,
制皮
, and
裁缝
. Gathering professions include
草药学
,
采矿
, and
剥皮
. As stated before, there are no Knowledge Points for Cooking, Fishing, or Archaeology.
Here are some basic facts about Knowledge Points.
Along with Knowledge Points, players also earn varying amounts of
匠人之勇
. This is an important currency required in some quests and used to buy profession-related items, such as the various research notes from
拉布尔
in Valdrakken for big boosts to your profession knowledge, or to order +1 Knowledge Draconic Treatises from Inscription through Crafting Orders.
Knowledge Points cannot be refunded once spent -- they are
permanent!
There is currently no way to refund spent Knowledge Points or respec a profession talent tree - even unlearning the profession and re-acquiring it doesn't work. Use your points wisely! Check the bottom of the page for links to profession overviews, which link to specialization guides and recommendations for the best use for your hard-won Knowledge.
How to Earn Knowledge Points in Dragonflight
Each method lists what type of profession it applies to, how much Knowledge it gives, and whether it's repeatable. We've also included full notes on how each system works and where to find what you need.
Non-Repeatable Knowledge Points
Non-repeatable means you can only do a specific thing once -- ever.
If a method is not repeatable, it means you can never do that specific thing again to get the +Knowledge, even if you unlearn the profession and learn it again later.
First-Time Recipes
Applies To:
Crafting Professions Only
Knowledge Learned:
+1 Knowledge Per New Recipe
Repeatable?
No
The first time you craft a recipe in a crafting profession, you will be awarded +1 Knowledge, 5x
匠人之勇
, and Experience. This gives you great incentive to make each one of your recipes at least once, whether you want the end product or not.
Since you will also be learning recipes from your Specialization trees, make sure you're opening trees that will give you new recipes to maximize your possible Knowledge points.
First-Time Gathers
Applies To:
Gathering Professions Only
Knowledge Learned:
+1 Knowledge Per New Node Type Harvested
Repeatable?
No
Let's get the bad news out of the way first: you don't get any Knowledge Points from Skinning gathers. Skinners cannot use this method for gaining Knowledge. There are other ways to do it, but Skinning is an extremely slow starter for gaining Knowledge. Expect you won't be able to make a great deal of headway until you've opened World Quests. Our Skinning Guides have recommendations for dealing with this limitation.
Herbalists and Miners have it easier. There are four base Herbs and two base Mining Deposits in game,. You'll get a total +4 Knowledge for picking all four base herbs, and a total of +2 Knowledge for both base mines.
In addition, both Herbs and Mines have six Modifiers each such as Infurious or Titan-Touched, which have specific types of drops and effects when you harvest them. You get +1 Knowledge point for each modifier of each base. This gives an extra +24 Knowledge for Herbalists (4 base herbs x 6 modifiers) and an extra +12 knowledge for Miners (2 base mines x 6 modifiers) for herbing or mining every type available. For example, Serevite Deposits and Draconium Deposits are the two base mine types. you can get +1 Knowledge for mining Serevite, +1 for mining Hardened Serevite, +1 for mining Rich Serevite, etc. You would also get +1 Knowledge for Hardened Draconium because it treats Hardened Draconium as separate from Hardened Serevite.
Self-Grown herbs from
被唤醒的种子
do not give specific Knowledge. These act like base herbs in terms of Knowledge points; for example, if you plant a seed and get
自己种的歪扭树皮
, and you've never harvested
歪扭树皮
before, you'll get the +Knowledge for picking
歪扭树皮
, but nothing specific for "self-grown".
Hidden Profession Masters
Applies To:
Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned:
+10 Knowledge
Repeatable?
No
Scattered through the Dragon Isles are Masters of their craft -- but not in plain sight. There is one for each profession, and they're tucked off in various corners of the world.
To do these, you need a minimum skill of 25 in your chosen profession(s).
Masters do not have quests -- but if you talk to them, you can get +5 Knowledge/+25
匠人之勇
for Crafting professions and +10/+50
匠人之勇
for Gathering professions, just for speaking with them! Clicking on them when you have the profession will reveal a brief dialogue option "Teach me about {Skill}", and you'll get your one-time big reward.

Knowledge Treasures
Applies To:
Crafting Professions Only
Knowledge Learned:
+3 Knowledge Points Per Treasure
Repeatable?
No
Knowledge Treasures are items hidden all over the Dragon Isles that will provide +3 Knowledge points for Crafting professions only. Each Treasure may only be looted once per character, and you must have a skill level of 25 in your profession to see and interact with the treasures.
We have a separate guide dedicated to Knowledge Treasures:
Knowledge Treasures in Dragonflight
Repeatable Knowledge Points
This section lists all methods of getting Knowledge Points that can be repeated. This includes random drops, quests, purchased treatises, and events. Many of these are limited to how many times these can be done in a certain period.
Side Gathers
Applies To:
Gathering Professions Only
Knowledge Learned:
+1-3 Knowledge Per Item
Repeatable?
Yes, but limitations within the week
All Gathering Professions occasionally yield items that will give you anywhere from +1 or +3 Knowledge -- VERY occasionally until you've built in a lot of Perception to increase your chances of getting rare items when you gather.
+1 Knowledge items are the most common, but also have limits to how many you can get per week. Once you have received the 5 +1 Knowledge versions for your profession, you will then be able to collect the +3 Knowledge item. Make sure you get that +3 item each week to be sure you're maximizing your minimum Knowledge points for the week!
梦境花瓣
(Herbalism),
虹彩矿石碎块
(Mining),
奇特皮革碎片
(Skinning) - +1 Knowledge, 5 per week
梦境花
(Herbalism),
虹彩矿石
(Mining),
大型奇特皮革样本
(Skinning) - +3 Knowledge, 1 per week
Although you can only collect up to 5x
梦境花瓣
or 5x
虹彩矿石碎块
per week, there is some carry-over if you don't actually get the +3 item. For example, if in week 1, you collect only 3x
虹彩矿石碎块
and carry those into week 2 without using them, you can still collect 5x
虹彩矿石碎块
in week 2. Keeping these +1 items doesn't hamper your ability to collect 5 the following week.
There are some assorted other +1 gathers that drop off specific nodes. While these do not seem to have a weekly limit, they are quite rare. Additional Perception may help find more of these.
注能花粉
- Seem to be a little more common from elemental herbalism nodes, but can drop from any
坚韧的大块岩石
- Hardened mining nodes
元素注能之石
- Primal mining nodes
加热的矿石样本
- Molten mining nodes
浸润之骨
- Nearly any skinnable creature. There does not seem to be any correlation to leather or scales.
You can earn more than 1 of these per week, but it is a much rarer drop. Higher Perception may help find more of these.
Random Crafting Item Drops
Applies To:
Crafting Professions Only
Knowledge Learned:
+1 Knowledge Per Item
Repeatable?
Yes
The equivalent to the rare side gather is the random crafting item drop. These can come out of treasures or, less commonly, as mob drops. These seem to be very sparse even compared to the rare side gathers for gathering professions.
Since this is totally random, there is no way to target-farm these items. Just be happy when you get one. An example of this is
腐朽粘液
, a +1 item for Alchemy.
Knowledge Items from Rare Mobs
Applies To:
Both Gathering and Crafting
Knowledge Learned:
+1 Knowledge and +5 Artisan's Mettle per item
Repeatable?
Yes (once per week per rare)
Specific rare mobs summoned in Forbidden Reach can drop a +1 Knowledge item with +5 Artisan's Mettle once per week per mob. For example, if you are both an Alchemist and an Herbalist, you can get both the +1 Knowledge item from
碾船者格鲁戈斯
and
阿格妮·焰蹄
for those respective professions. You will need to craft a special summoning object and bring them to one of three Volatile Braziers:
/way 69.74 54.64 6 Volatile Brazier 1

Dragon Shards of Knowledge
Applies To:
Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned:
+1 Knowledge Per Shard
Repeatable?
Yes
The
巨龙知识碎片
is an item you receive as a quest reward and from open world treasures such as
探险队斥候的背包
.
You will need to open the ability to turn in Dragon Shards of Knowledge with a questline; in fact, you can't even collect these until you've opened
卡丁的智慧
with the final quest.
You first must do the quest line in Ruby Life Pools starting with
前往碧蓝林海
from
海菲斯塔
. It's short and easy and available with no quest or level prerequisites beyond being level 60 and having at least one Dragon Isles crafting profession.
The next quest line begins at level 62 in Forkriver Crossing. You must have completed the intro quest for Azure Span,
前往碧蓝林海
, also picked up in Forkriver Crossing (either upon completing the Ohn'ahran Plains zone line or choosing to open Azure Span from your mission table in Wingrest Assembly). All you have to do is turn it in, and then fly back to Forkriver Crossing.
You'll end up collecting a total of 4x
巨龙知识碎片
this way to turn in at the end.
我的专长
- ask
米格尔·布莱特
about profession specializations in Forkriver Crossing in Ohn'ahran Plains. You'll receive a
巨龙知识碎片
.
世界奇观
- talk to
托马斯·布莱特
about how he gets his inspiration. You'll be directed to the place where he likes to go. Pick up
工艺大师
before you leave Forkriver Crossing. Go to Thomas' happy place and collect another
巨龙知识碎片
.
工艺大师
- Khadin is located at /way 51.8 33.0, in a small cave tucked into two hills west of Mauukai. Pick up another
巨龙知识碎片
.
相配的狩猎
- kill
千里
, a neutral but surprisingly fast moose bull southwest of Khadin's cave. Even though he's elite,
千里
is not tough to kill, but be very careful about where you fight him. Pull well away from the wandering elite
赭牙头领
mammoths in the area. They hit very, very hard and sometimes the other mammoths with them will join in the fight. Return to Khadin and pick up your fourth
巨龙知识碎片
.
You will be seeing a lot of each other
When you finish this quest line, you will be granted
卡丁的智慧
, which gives you the ability to gather and turn in
巨龙知识碎片
for +1 Knowledge and +50
匠人之勇
. (In some ways, the
匠人之勇
is almost more important here than the +1 Knowledge, but both are great to have). You now have four
巨龙知识碎片
turn-ins to do right away!
When you turn in a
巨龙知识碎片
, you will be given a choice where to apply it before you are granted your Knowledge. If you have more than one profession, it will show up here.
This is a repeatable turn-in; you can turn in as many
巨龙知识碎片
as you can at one time. There is no daily or weekly limit.
If you have already opened this on one character, there is one early opportunity for your alts skip ahead, which bypasses a line of quests at Ruby Lifepools and a second line at Forkriver Crossing that together open up the ability to turn in
巨龙知识碎片
. When you pick up
工匠邮差
, the very first Profession quest from
海菲斯塔
in Ruby Life Pools, you are given
one
opportunity to skip ahead. Skipping will award 275 reputation with
工匠商盟 - 巨龙群岛支部
and 3x
巨龙知识碎片
, one shard less than what you would get doing the quest lines.
You can only choose this skip when you pick up
工匠邮差
.
If you don't choose it now and instead turn
工匠邮差
in to
托马斯·布莱特
, this skip is never offered again.
Besides some gold and experience, this will also skip is an opportunity to get one free, lowest-quality Profession item. Given that you can get much better on the Auction House without a huge investment, this is a small price to pay for the convenience and earlier opportunity to find and turn in Shards.
Profession Trainer Weekly Quests
Applies To:
Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned:
+3 Knowledge Per Quest
Repeatable?
Yes (Bi-weekly)
Profession Trainer repeatable quests will be a good source of repeatable points, and you're encouraged to make it part of your routine to build your Professions.
Profession Trainer Quests become available once you have opened World Quests and Adventure Mode and have reached at least Skill (50) in the relevant profession. To open World Quests, your first character through must reach level 68 and complete the zone campaign for all four zones (the achievements you'll get for this are
觉醒希望
,
欧恩摇滚
,
丈量碧蓝
, and
别让我把它拼出来
). This opens a quest
勇往直前
where you meet with
阿莱克丝塔萨,生命的缚誓者
at the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken.
Not only does this open World Quests and Profession quests for your first character, but opening Adventure Mode makes World Quests and Profession Trainer Quests available for all your alts as soon as they raised their Dragonflight profession skill(s) to 50.
Profession Trainer Quests are available from your Profession trainer in Valdrakken. These earn crafting-specific Knowledge items such as
铁匠手稿
or
裁缝样品
, which award +3 Knowledge. For some professions, such as Engineering's
工程学资料
, the award is +2 Knowledge.
While most of these quests state you need to "gather" or "craft" these items, you only need to have these items. For most of these, you can buy the items on the Auction House and fulfill the quest requirements. If you're unsure, just purchase one and see if you get quest credit when you pick it up from your mail. Also pay attention to the required quality; if it requires a 2-quality item, a 1- or 3-quality item will not fulfill the requirements.
We are developing guides for Profession Quests, and will link these when they become available.
Draconic Treatises from Inscription
Applies To:
Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned:
+1 Knowledge
Repeatable?
Yes (Weekly)
Inscriptionists can create Draconic Treatises, items that you can use
once per week
to gain +1 Knowledge in any specific crafting or gathering profession, such as
裁缝巨龙论述
or
剥皮巨龙论述
.
Each Draconic Treatise requires a large number of ingredients, including 10x
匠人之勇
, 1x
石牙皮革
(from Skinning), 5x
闪光羊皮纸
(vendor sold), and 1x Awakened Essence, which is different depending on the profession:
觉醒之气
- Alchemy, Leatherworking
觉醒之土
- Herbalism, Skinning, Mining
觉醒之火
- Blacksmithing, Engineering, Jewelcrafting
觉醒之霜
- Enchanting, Inscription, Tailoring
Since these are Bind on Pickup, you won't be able to pick these up on the Auction House (and no one who does Inscription wants to be spending their own
匠人之勇
to sell these anyway). You will need to order these made for you by submitting a Work Order through the Crafting Order Stations in Valdrakken. For information on placing a Work Order, please see this guide:
Creating Work Orders in Dragonflight
Darkmoon Faire
Applies To:
Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned:
+3 Knowledge
Repeatable?
Yes (Monthly)
Not only does Darkmoon Faire give skill for each Dragonflight-era Profession, but it also gives you +3 Knowledge points and +15
匠人之勇
! You get less skill points (+2 instead of +5), but the Knowledge and Mettle more than make up for that.
Even if you have your skill maxxed out, you're leaving +3 Knowledge for two professions and a total of +30
匠人之勇
on the table with every character by not visiting Darkmoon Faire.
Limited Repeatable Knowledge Points
This item falls in the middle. It is repeatable, but only up to three times per profession.
Artisan Consortium Profession Notes
Applies To:
Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned:
+15 Knowledge (up to 45 for each profession)
Repeatable?
Yes (only up to 3x per profession)
拉布尔
, the Artisan's Consortium Quartermaster, is located next to the Crafting Orders area in Valdrakken (/way 35.6 59.0, on Valdrakken map) standing next to the mailbox.
Rabul sells a variety of research notes for every profession that gives a whopping +15 Knowledge to your skill of choice in exchange for
匠人之勇
. He will only show you the treatises available for your memorized professions. These include such page-turners as
蒙尘的制皮匠的图表
,
蒙尘的草药师的笔记
, and
蒙尘的铭文师的符文图案
. He has them available for all professions.
The catch is that these become increasingly expensive as you buy more, and their starting cost is 100x
匠人之勇
. They go up in price to 150x
匠人之勇
and cap at 200x
匠人之勇
. Still, if you're swimming in
匠人之勇
and you need the points, it could be a worthwhile expenditure.
However, one thing that's important to know is that while the initial cost gets higher, you are refunded a good portion of those by learning the items. When you memorize them, you get +5
匠人之勇
back for every point of Knowledge, so you will get back 75
匠人之勇
.
Once this happens, Dusty tomes become Rare versions, which cost 150x
匠人之勇
initially and require Valued reputation with the Artisan's Consortium to learn. In turn, the next level up, Ancient, costs 200x and requires Esteemed reputation.
You can only buy one copy of each book (Dusty, Rare, and Ancient) for a total possible knowledge gain of 45 Knowledge Points per profession.
This table lists the three types of books, the initial
匠人之勇
cost, how much you end up spending after the 75x
匠人之勇
refund, and what reputation is required with the Artisan's Consortium to buy it.

Profession treasures are not only Bind on Pickup, but only players with that Profession can collect the specific treasures.
This is either inaccurate or confusingly-worded. I have opened treasures twice this week containing +3 knowledge point BOP items for professions I don't have. Granted, there's nothing I can do with them but delete them, but I can definitely collect those treasures.
EDIT: I see now, this just means these specific treasures, not the expedition scout's packs, which show up as treasures but definitely can contain things you can't use. Nevermind, carry on.

There seems to be wrong/outdated info regarding how much knowledge and artisan's mettle you recieve for speaking with the Enchanting & Engineering masters.
Masters do not have quests -- but if you talk to them, you can get a whopping +10 Knowledge Points and +50 Artisan's Mettle just for speaking with them!
I recieved only half of this amount from both Enchanting and Engineering masters,
+5 Knowledge points
and
+25 Artisan's mettle
to be precise for each profession.
Other than that, thank you for the write up, helped a lot!

Similarly to "Rare Side Gathers" there's also a grindable source for crafting professions. Some mobs drop +X knowledge items.
I had water elementals in Waking Shores drop this:
元素裂片
I assume there are equivalent drops for the other crafting professions.
And I would guess that there are +3 knowledge items as well which would probably work identical to the gathered ones in regards to the weekly limit.

Be advised that you receive 5 artisan's mettle per knowledge point gained from Rahul's dusty notes in Valdrakken. So while the first gathering dusty note costs 100 artisan's mettle, you receive 75 back once you use the item and gain 15 knowledge points.

So I just realised I need to go all the way to a sub-spec to craft relevant gear, at which point I already spent all of my points I got unwisely. That's when I realised I can reset these. So given how slow it will be now to obtain the points, by the time I will be able to craft something relevant, it won't be relevant. I play the expansion with these new professions for like 4 days and I can drop professions completely already, because there is no point anymore ... :D. Great system.

He will be playing on a broken drum and ask you to fix it twice, stick around and he gives you the drum. This drum gives 3 KP

The Draconic Treatises that you can order from crafting also require 1 Burnished Ink that is not listed in this article. This is a required item for all crafting/gathering Draconic Treatise orders.

There must be a chat command (true/false prompt) to check if you have already used a "Draconic Treatise" for your profession this week, right? I tend to forget if I used it this week or last week...please share if you know.

Enchanters can earn a total of 12 knowledge from the Elemental Storm events in Season 1. Each of the four storms has a chance to drop their corresponding "Glimmer" from any affected mob in the areas:
大地微光
,
冰霜微光
,
火焰微光
, and
空气微光
. Each one provides 3 knowledge upon being disenchanted.
As of this writing, it's assumed these are one time drops and not weekly.

Gained a lot of points getting to 100. But now i'm not getting any spec point items.. 2 hours mining all over DI and haven't obtained a single one. Made a TON of gold.. but no items? Is this bugged? I am no where NEAR maxed out on any of the trees. I guess i'll just stick to gold farming and saving up for some mounts i'm missing. Being unable to respec or earn spec items is a real buzzkill.

This is seriously lacking info on Darkmoon Faire. But admittedly it's been around for awhile and they just migrated the old crafting quests to be dragonflight versions. But if you're like me and don't remember how that all worked here's the info you need for a start.

Either I've missed something or it was missing in the Guide.
There are also weekly quests from Artisan's Consortium such as
平凡宝石不平庸
which give 3 knowledge points (2 for engineering still). All crafting professions, including alchemy and enchanting.
And there are also weekly quests from Artisan's Consortium such as
铭文指名服务
which also give 3 knowledge points (2 for engineering still). Weapon/armor crafting professions only though.
So far from quests we can gain 3 knowledge points for gathering professions each week, 6 ones for alchemy, enchanting, engineering and 9 ones for rest of crafting professions.
P.S. Updated my comment since professions trainers quests are not bi-weekly anymore and are available each week.

It seems to me that despite how Blizzard describe it or dress it up crafting has become needlessly more difficult and for some incomprehensible and whilst also becoming very more time consuming.
And now you can't just get mats make things and max out your craft now you have to choose specialisations within that craft and obtain those in manner that consumes the means by which you develop those skills often making those skill choices very if not impossible to change. Forcing you to make choices than effectively punishing you should you later find those choices were not the best for you.
Im torn between abandoning the crafting and just focusing on gathering the mats...or admitting to myself taking ages to max out your chosen profession is just a ruse to keep you playing Wow longer, taking offence at that and taking up something else. Real world hobbies ...outside maybe ...with real people. Or put my account on hold and just play through winter... picking up all the rewards and incentives for returning to wow
Crafting...has anyone written a simple guide that anyone can follow to max out a profession ?

Question: Is there some way or add-on to inform me if I have earned the knowledge for "crafting recipes for the first time". As I look at my crafting list(s) I see several that I may not have crafted at least once and would like to know prior to re-crafting unusable (for my character) items on my list. - Thanks

Tama's Dragonflight helper Weak Aura (
https://wago.io/TamasDragonflightHelper
) is absolutely awesome at tracking any/all weekly "to-do's".... renown levels, profession weeklies, siege/soup timers, etc. HIGHLY recommend! It lists out all of the prof. specific one-time pickups that add knowledge as well... I found out about ~20 item-pickup-based knowledge points I was missing out on just by using it. Can't recommend it enough!

Regarding the "random" crafting item drops; they aren't really random.
Each profession has one item of +1 knowledge that drops from the world pickups (Expedition Scout's Backpack and Disturbed Earth being the most common pickups), and three that drop from specific groups of mobs.
These can be tracked by a weakaura; the "Weekly Profession Knowledge Tracker" by Zulandia works well:
https://wago.io/w4D9R3Ykr
These drops are available once per week from each of the sources, for +4 knowledge per profession per week.

It would be nice to know if you've hit a cap for the week somehow for herbalism and mining. It seems that once I got an epic quality knowledge drop (+3 knowledge) from both mining and herbalism, the knowledge drops stop until reset on Tuesday.

I don't see any mention that you can get 2 crafting knowledge points a week in
翻动过的泥土
or
探险队斥候的背包
(and I'm assuming Magic Chest too). I've only seen 2 every week for each craft profession (not gathering) so I'm assuming it's a hard limit.

What Do You All Think Of A Random NPC Public Work Order System That Everyone Can Do An X Number Of Times With 100% Chance For Skill Ups/KP? It’d Be Like The BMAH, But For Professions.
The NPC would take the cut of gold of course and you’d need to provide mats and perhaps the NPC would also give you some high quality items for crafting in a small quantity and even better they could give you a reroll or go back token on your KP? This would benefit everyone because the better stuff everyone can make the better the player base will communicate and the health of the game will be awesome. Whenever I craft stuff for people no matter if it’s free, for 500g, or 50k gold I always have a real conversation and invite them to my community. So I have made tons of new friends thanks to the crafting system, but I think my idea with the NPC would be amazing and something that players want. Us players can’t have reroll token items to craft because that would cause all kinds of issues, but the NPC idea is where it’s at. What do y’all think?

Okay, Blizzard, again, is super bad at explaining things.
"Applies To Both Crafting and Gathering Professions
Knowledge Learned: +5/+10 Knowledge at Specific Renown Levels"
"Each profession can learn +5 Knowledge at Renown 14 and +10 Knowledge at Renown 23/24 with 2 different factions"
Incorrect.
Gathering Professions will earn +5 at renown 14 and +10 at renown 23/24
Crafting Professions will earn +5 at renown 14, and +5 are renown 23/24
I Pushed two characters to Iskaara level 25.
The skinner (gathering) received +5, then the +10.
The Jewelcrafter (crafting) received +5, +5.
Opened a ticket and was told thats how it is intended.

Should update this a bit, the weekly-drop ones for crafted professions are not "random". i.e. the decaying phlegm comes from decay-based mobs like the gnoll camps in Azure Span. Elemental shard comes from elemental mobs like lakefrost worms and what not. There is a WA,
https://wago.io/w4D9R3Ykr/14
, which will track your weekly collection of the points and a general idea of what to kill to get them. Includes the random 6xdrop for gathering too but not the weekly +3 ones like dreambloom.
