In ancient times, a vrykul warlord stole a rifle infused with the power of storms.
He used the artifact’s might to conquer his rivals on the Broken Isles.
Delve into the warlord’s tomb and recover this mighty weapon!
]The introductory quests
and
let you choose which artifact weapon to pick. You go around Dalaran to talk to hunter NPCs that represent each specialization:
(Beast Mastery, found in Pet Shop):
Been working with ol’ Brann Bronzebeard, searching the Broken Isles for any edge against the Legion.
We’re close to finding the tomb of some vrykul warlords the legends say stole a rifle called Titanstrike. Brann got all excited, join on about how that gun is infused with the power of storms and such!
Sounds interestin’ eh? If you’re up for fetchin’ it, I’m your dwarf!
Apata HIghmountain (Survival):
Emmarel Shadewarden is a noble soul. The tauren of Highmountain have long been allies of the Unseen Path.
Talonclaw, the spear wielded by my ancestor Huln Highmountain, was lost in battle against a fierce night saber called Dakarr. Many have tried to retrieve it…all have failed.
Our elders belie recovering Talonclaw is the key to driving the Legion from our lands.
My brother Wuho and I are heading out to slay the beast and claim the spear. If you were to join us, we’d be sure to succeed!
Courier Larkspur (Marksmanship):
My commander, Ranger-General Vereesa Windrunner, has uncovered a possible lead as to the whereabouts of her missing sister Alleria.
Alleria’s knowledge of the Legion would be invaluable to our cause. And the bow she carried with her, Thas’dorah, is an artifact of awesome power.
Together, you and the ranger-general can save them both.
In
you meet Grif and in
you head to the Shield's Rest tomb in
. This is the same location for the Protection Warrior and Protection Paladin artifact weapon quests. Grif has decided to partner with a vrykul, Prustaga, for assistance, even though there are concerns that vrykul aren't trustworthy.
Stage 1
– Making Introductions
Speak with Grif and meet his vrykul guide, Prustaga.
Grif: Brann introduced me to Prustaga not long ago. Befreindin’ vrykul…that dwarf certainly has a way with words.
Grif: Seems Prust wants the Legion out of here as much as we do. Worked night and day to find this tomb!
Prustaga: I care nothing for friendship, soft-earthen. So long as this one helps us enter the tomb, they will be tolerated.
Grif: Trouble is, looks like some fools plundered the tomb and stirred up all sorts of spirits.
Warlord Volund: Thief…Coveter…Defiler! Thief! Coveter!
Grif: Pipe down! We’re after yer gun for a good cause, ghosty!
Prustaga: Enough chatter. Move!
Stage 2
– Tomb Raider
Fnd the entrance to the tomb of Warlord Volund inside the Tomb of Ancient Kings.
Stage 3
– Volund's Hoard
Assist Prustaga in opening the door to Volund's tomb.
Stage 4
– Every Nook and Cranny
Scour Volund's Hoard for a sign of Titanstrike.
Grif: By Magni’s beard, Volund certainly had a taste for titan relics!
Grif: Look at that - a mechagnome! Brann told me all about these. It might be able to help us find Titanstrike!
Grif: Now let’s see..plug this in over here…re-align the power unit…
XR9-47: Remote relay observe unit XR9-47 active. System status: damaged. Rebooting. Please stand by.
XR9-47: System status. Functional. Rerouting commands to maker’s console.
Grif: Maker? Oh…please don’t be him…
Image of Mimiron: Bronzebeard, is that you? My records show this unit has been inactive for millennia, stolen from my lab not long ago.
Grif: For the last time, I’m not Brann!
Prustaga: Where is Titanstrike?
Mimiron: The gun is here? Most curious! Let’s see, telemetry coming in now…the Broken Isles…vrykul tomb…yes, yes, this is starting to make sense.
Mimiron: Oh my stars, yes, this is it! The lid is attuned to a particular frequency, so I just need to transmit a signal like so, and…
Mimiron: There it is! It’s really here!
Stage 5
– Volund's Last Stand
Warlord Volund seeks to stop you from claiming Titanstrike.
Final Stage
– Answering the Call
Use the teleportation pad to join Mimiron in Ulduar.
Prustaga: You’ve played your part. <stuns everyone and runs off with Titanstrike>
Prustaga: The heart of this weapon will grant me the fury of the gods. The vrykul of Northrend will follow me into glorious battle!
Mimirion: Not good, not good at all. You should both meet me in my workshop in Ulduar at once. we need to figure this thing out.
Mimirion: Perfect! Titanstrike’s power has energized this teleportation pad. It won’t last long but I should be able to reroute it…success!
Grif: Well we can’t stop now what’re ye waiting for?!
MImiron: Excellent, you made it through in one piece! I’ve been meaning to test that new teleporter for ages.
MImiron: I’m preparing the diagnostics systems now…that was quite the epic struggle you had back there with that vrykul. Thief had it coming if you ask me.
MImiron: There you are! Right on schedule.
You've now teleported to Mimiron's workshop in Ulduar, and he needs help processing the data in
. Of course, there are lots of explosions and malfunctions you need to solve as he analyzes the information.
The Creature’s Workshop - need help processing info.
Mimirion: Now, let’s recall that observation unit from Stormheim.
Mimirion: Stormheim…Stormheim…Ah, there it is.
Mimirion: Engaging processors. Initializing download relays.
Mimirion: Once the process kicks into gear, it should only take a minute or two to get everything off XR9-47 here. Just sit back and enjoy the science.
Mimirion: Those alarms indicate that we’re encountering some…minor technical difficulties with the fusion press unit.
Mimirion: All you need to do is deactivate the two control panels over by the fusion press. Bronzebaread and I will man the central console.
Grif: Oh fer crying out loud.
Mimirion: Astounding! Fusion system running at 98.33 efficiency. Repeating, of course.
Mimirion: Oh dear. Now the Storm Leviathan unit is experiencing target recognition system malfunction.
Mimirion: Activate the stabilization matrix before it tears the whole lab apart!
Mimirion: Leviathan unit stable! Excellent work, most excellent indeed.
Mimirion: Well, friends, the good news is the download is 89% complete! But we seem to also be experiencing a minor cause of total system failure.
Mimirion: I suppose there’s no time like the present. This will either fix everything or destroy us…I need you to press the big red button labeled ‘DO NOT PUSH THIS BUTTON’.
Mimirion: (after button is pushed) Download complete! Splendid work, positively splendid. Come on over to the control console.
Mimirion: Yes…yes, I see. Oh. No, no no. Not good. Not good at all.
Grif: What is it? Where’s Prustaga headed?
Mimirion: Thorim’s throne at the Temple of Thunder. I’ll explain on the way - we don’t have much time.
In the quest
, you rush to Thorim so that Prustaga cannot infuse Titanstrike and the power of the Titans into herself. You also get to ride in
between Ulduar and the Temple of Storms, which is pretty neat.
Image of Mimiron: Pity you aren’t joining Thorim under better circumstances. He’s quite the animal lover himself - always going on about those wolves of his.
Grif: Aye, it’ll be nice to be around one of our own. Even if he is a bit tall for my liking
Image: Indeeded, Bronzebeard. Now hold on - I’m taking you in.
When you reach Thorim, a new scenario begins:
Stage 1: Converse with Thorim
Thorim: Bronzebeard, back again I see! Hati has missed you.
Thorim: Ah, and with one of the mortals who freed us from the grip of the Old God! We must hold a feast to celebrate.
Grif: It’ll have to wait, Thorim. There’s a crazed vrykul on her way here with Titanstrike to steal its power!
Thorim: Then we shall slay them together. Come, vrykyl and face the fury of the storms!
Stage 2: Fend off the Vrykul Horde
Stage 3: Defeat Prustaga
Grif: Prust is headed for the throne! We’ve got to stop her!
Prustaga: Behold my glorious ascension!
Prustaga: Yes…I can feel the power of the makers coursing through my veins.
Grif: See reason, Prust! We are nor yer enemy!
Prustaga: You were means to an end. Nothing more! I will not be denied my destiny!
(As she dies, she explodes, unleashing a powerful wave of energy.)
Grif: Is Hati….?
Mimiron: He’s alive, but only barely. It appears that he’s absorbed Titanstrike’s power.
MImiron: Even though he’s a creature of lightning magic, my science can’t tap into it. I’m afraid that all the power is soon to be lost.
Thorim That’s it! If you can bind Hati’s spirit to your own, you can use Titanstrike to calm the storms.
Stage 4: Bind Hati’s spirit to your own
Stage 5: Wield Titanstrike
Thorim: By Odyn’s beard, you did it!
Thorim: I charge you this day to wield Titanstrike against the enemies of creation who would destroy this world.
Thorim: Hati’s noble spirit resides within the weapon forevermore. He will be a loyal companion to you in the dark times ahead.
Grif: I’ve seen no better hunter in all my days roaming the wild. Yer faith is well-placed, Thorim.

Titanstrike
The brilliant keeper Mimiron crafted many firearms, but Titanstrike was his crowning achievement. It was his first rifle, and he designed it to harness the raw fury of storms.
Mimiron gave the weapon to his good friend, Keeper Thorim, to use in battle. Thorim was a legendary fighter who relished the hunt, and he wielded Titanstrike with great care and skill. No beast, no matter how mighty, could withstand the rifle's explosive power.
With you, Titanstrike has found someone worthy of carrying on Thorim's legacy.
Hunt wisely. Aim true.
Titanstrike, Part One
Titanstrike was not conceived by a mortal mind, nor was it crafted by mortal hands. This rifle traces its origins to a mirthful being named Mimiron. He was one of the keepers, a race of noble creatures who warred with the Old Gods and imprisoned the wicked entities beneath the earth.
Some of Mimiron's fellow keepers could wield the fury of storms. Others were mighty warriors. Mimiron's strength was not physical but mental. His intellect and creativity had no equal.
Day and night, Mimiron tinkered away at unique mechanisms. He was especially fond of experimenting with weapons that the keepers and their servants could use to protect Azeroth. When the earthen suggested that Mimiron make something that could strike at enemies from a distance, the keeper devoted himself to the challenge.
Before long, he developed the first firearm in history, a rifle known as Titanstrike.
Titanstrike, Part Two
Mimiron's inventions rarely worked as intended. At least, not at first. He embraced the process of trial and error, often to the detriment of his faithful servants, the clockwork mechagnomes.
While testing one of the earliest versions of Titanstrike, Mimiron set part of his workshop on fire and damaged over a dozen mechagnomes. The keeper learned a great deal from the disaster. After repairing his injured servants, Mimiron fine-tuned Titanstrike. He took the next prototype to a stormy mountain peak, a remote place where no one would be injured if the weapon went haywire.
Titanstrike, Part Three
Mimiron's decision to test Titanstrike atop a mountain peak proved disastrous, but it was also illuminating. He had forged the newest version of the rifle with a mix of rare metal alloys that unintentionally attracted electricity. When Mimiron fired the weapon, a bolt of lightning leapt from a storm cloud and blasted Titanstrike into two pieces.
Mimiron wasn't angry or disappointed. He was ecstatic. The accident gave him an idea. The keeper would reassemble Titanstrike, and he would embrace its connection to the elements.
He would infuse it with the power of storms.
Titanstrike, Part Four
From chapter four of The Storm Thieves, by the historian Evelyna:
""Mimiron needed help to make his idea of Titanstrike a reality. He needed Keeper Thorim.
""Thorim commanded the crackling powers locked within the skies. His lair, the Temple of Storms, acted as a conduit for thunder and lightning. It would serve as the perfect forge to remake Titanstrike.
""One day, as an angry tempest churned over the temple, the two keepers went to work. Thorim wrestled with the winds and the lightning until they bent to his will. He gathered the storm, and all its fury, into a concentrated orb of energy called the Thunderspark, and then he bound it to his temple.
""Mimiron was ready. He channeled the Thunderspark into Titanstrike. Lightning rocked the temple before the keeper finally sealed the wrathful storm inside the rifle.""
Titanstrike, Part Five
From chapter eleven of The Storm Thieves, by the historian Evelyna:
""The earthen have a legend of a time when 'the sky went mad.' It is said that thunder rolled through the heavens from distant corners of Azeroth for weeks on end. Most of the keepers thought something terrible had happened, that the sky itself had broken. But Mimiron ignored the sounds.
""Several keepers, led by Loken, followed the thunderous noise across the world. They finally tracked its source to an island far to the south, where monstrous devilsaurs and other scaled creatures roamed. There, the keepers discovered Thorim and his two worgs, Hati and Skoll, in the midst of a hunt.
""Loken hurried to the keeper's side to warn him of the sky's unrest. That was when he realized that Thorim himself was responsible for it.
""Thorim had received Titanstrike from Mimiron shortly after its creation, and he'd wasted no time using it in his favorite hunting grounds. His own energies amplified the rifle's explosive power. Every time he fired it, a thunderclap would split the heavens and rumble over the world.""
Titanstrike, Part Six
From chapter twenty of The Storm Thieves, by the historian Evelyna:
""The only beast to escape Thorim and his worgs on their great hunts was a monstrous jormungar worm. The creature, covered in thick plates of white stone, was the largest of its kind ever to exist.
""When Thorim discovered the worm, he took aim with Titanstrike. His first shot cracked the jormungar's stone hide. Before he could fire again, his prey leapt forward and knocked Titanstrike from his grasp. Thorim pummeled the worm with his bare fists and forced it to burrow into the earth.
""So began a hunt that would last decades. Thorim and his worgs tracked the jormungar across the north, battling the worm whenever it emerged from the ground. In his last encounter with the beast, the keeper landed a shot between its armor plates. The jormungar fled, and it was never seen again.""
Titanstrike, Part Seven
Betrayal eventually shattered the unity of the keepers. Most were imprisoned within their fortress of Ulduar. Thorim sank into depression and secluded himself in the Temple of Storms. Even hunting no longer made him happy, and he stored Titanstrike in his lair.
Ages passed, and the keepers' servants spread across the icy north. The vrykul formed clans and sought to dominate the land.
A warrior named Volund yearned for more than that. He dreamed of lording over every vrykul. To do so, he searched for the powerful mechanisms and weapons crafted by the keepers. Volund's journeys would bring him to a lone mechagnome. The vrykul took the defenseless clockwork creature prisoner and forced him to reveal information about Mimiron's creations.
From the mechagnome, Volund learned of Titanstrike and its location.
Titanstrike, Part Eight
Following Loken's betrayal, Thorim secluded himself in the Temple of Storms. He often drifted off into bouts of fitful sleep for years on end, while Hati and Skoll roamed the wilds as they pleased.
Volund waited for one of these periods of slumber to steal Titanstrike. He ensnared a mighty proto-drake and used the beast to ascend to the Temple of Storms. Right under Thorim's nose, the bold vrykul pilfered Titanstrike and fled the keeper's lair.
After Thorim awoke and discovered that Titanstrike was missing, he called Hati and Skoll to his side. The worgs and their master picked up Volund's trail and stormed after him. The vrykul narrowly stayed one step ahead of his pursuers, but he knew he could not do so forever. Thorim and his worgs were legendary hunters. They would eventually track down Volund and punish him.
Along with his captured mechagnome and the relics he had uncovered, Volund escaped the north. He journeyed far to the south, to a land he'd only heard stories of--a land known as Stormheim.
Titanstrike, Part Nine
From chapter three of The False Keeper, by the historian Llore:
""Volund bragged of his might, and he demanded that Stormheim's vrykul follow his command. Of course, they did not obey him. Not yet. A few vrykul stepped forward to silence the arrogant newcomer. Volund felled them all with Titanstrike, each shot booming like a giant's footstep.
""When the vrykul witnessed Volund's power, they were in awe. He wielded the strength of the keepers, and therefore they believed he must have earned the mythical beings' favor.
""Volund declared himself warlord, and he rallied Stormheim's warriors under his banner. He and his army marched out from Stormheim to conquer the surrounding land for the glory of the vrykul.""
Titanstrike, Part Ten
From chapter seven of The False Keeper, by the historian Llore:
""Warlord Volund had the strength of numbers and the weaponry needed to bring the lands around Stormheim to heel. What he lacked was unity.
""As the vrykul ranks made war against the mighty drogbar near Stormheim, Volund grew suspicious of his followers. He believed they were planning to murder him and take Titanstrike for themselves. After all, if he had stolen it from a keeper, surely someone could steal it from him.
""Volund's paranoia drove him to torture and execute many of his allies. The bulk of the vrykul soldiers abandoned the crazed warlord, and his once-formidable army crumbled.""
Titanstrike, Part Eleven
Many years later, as Volund neared death, he ordered his enslaved mechagnome and his few remaining vrykul followers to bury him alongside Titanstrike. The warlord used the keeper-wrought mechanisms he had stolen as defensive wards to keep grave robbers out of his tomb. Even in death, Volund would let no one touch his cherished rifle.
Fortunately, Titanstrike did not remain buried beside the would-be conqueror forever. The rifle was not forged to spread terror or to dominate; it was forged to protect Azeroth.
Now reclaimed, Mimiron's masterwork can fulfill its original purpose. It will strike wherever darkness stirs, and its thunderous report will herald the death of all who threaten the world or its people.
Reuniting with Hati in Battle for Azeroth
Broadcast text for a new questline allowing Hunters to reunite with Hati has been datamined on the 8.1.5 PTR!
As we research Hati's location, we learn that Hati's essence is split between locations of great sacrifice - Silithus and the Temple of Storms:
I'm engaging the triangulation protocol now. In a few moments we should know exactly where Hati's essence has run off to!
There won't be any 'incompatibilities' this time, aye?
Of course not, Bronzebeard!
Oh dear. I may have been premature in my assessment. Something is coming through!
Cross-referencing the data with my archives now. Let's see where this signal is coming from!
According to my calculations it's only part of Hati's essence, but indeed, Bronzebeard, we do!
The signal seems to originate from the Temple of Storms not far from here. Looks like you'll be seeing our good friend Thorim once again!
More data coming in through the triangulation protocol. Analyzing...
Silithid? Most suspicious. Perhaps if I reference a different dataset...oh dear.
What is it?! Is Hati alright?
This is worse than I thought. I'm going to quarantine the signal, hold on!
The rest of Hati's essence is trapped in Silithus...dangerously close to the wound.
It seems Hati's essence has gathered at locations where he performed great sacrifices in life. Get to the Temple of Storms right away!
We meet up with Thorim, who first helped us acquire Titanstrike:
Ah, Bronzebeard and $p! It is good to see you once more!
For the love o'... aye, 'tis good to see ye again as well, Thorim.
The rest of Hati's essence is in Silithus. If we can capture it, Mimiron thinks we can reform him!
Hati could return? Why did you not say so before?! I will join you in Silithus at once!
I suppose we'll just figure out the plan later. Let's get movin'!
We find Hati, but the essence is unsurprisingly in great pain,:
Hati... is that you?
Hati's essence recognizes you and becomes confused!
Not to worry, Thorim, we've got yer back!
Hati! Come here, boy!
Hah, he remembers us!
No... somethin's wrong. What is it boy?
Easy, boy. Easy now.
I'm goin' to see if I can get him to come quietly. Keep yer distance, $p.
All of the pain here is messin' with yer head, ain't it boy? Yer just scared!
Ach! Bad idea! Bad idea!
Essence of Hati howls in rage!
Our plan is to use the Thunderspark to help calm Hati:
I know yer in there, Hati. We're here to help ye!
I think we're breaking through! Keep it up, $p!
That's it! Use the Thunderspark to absorb Hati's essence!
By Muradin's thunder, watch the beard next time, will ya?
I will do my best, but for now we must focus on subduing Hati's anguish!
I can feel Hati's soul exposed to us. He has born such strife... such pain!
Aye, he sacrificed himself fer all of us. We can't let him down now!
Essence of Hati whimpers painfully.
I know it hurts, boy. Just hang in there a little longer!
$p, it is time. Absorb Hati's essence into the Thunderspark!
Mimiron announces that we were successful in fully absorbing Hati's essence with the Thunderspark:
Lookee there, one of Mimiron's wee lads is comin' our way!
There you two are. Your battle with Hati's essence fried my thunderlocation relays!
Sorry about that, Mimiron. We just absorbed-
Yes of course, the Thunderspark is fully charged with Hati's essence! Why didn't you say so?!
Well I was just-
It will have to wait, Bronzebeard. You two should have been halfway to my lab by now!
We shall meet you there at once!
The story ends here for now, but ultimately rewards Hati as a tame.

Can anyone confirm if BGs count for this? I've been looking everywhere but I can find nothing for it!

Could someone confirm how Hati's color changes? The guide says changing artifact appearance will affect Hati as well, but I don't think that is correct. Mine just changed from the starter light blue color to the darker (medium?)blue color by itself- changing the (currently only 5) colors/styles for Titanstrike I have available seems to have no effect. The only thing I did was spend artifact power on my next trait. Is the dark blue color linked to having 13 traits? Seems unfair to not be able to control Hati's color by changing the artifact appearance. (yes, I know you can get the
精华交换器
to copy your pet, but what if you like the light blue Hati?)
edit: logged in today and Hati is back to light blue....then I took the port to Dal from lodge and now he is black (I guess) with blue claws
edit 2: as per reply below, it is very buggy. Hati is always the light blue color when I log in or first summon him, and will change colors after I have taken a port or sometimes flight path.

So apparently it's possible to be unphased during the scenario to get this weapon. I came out from Ulduar and was killed by Horde as I jumped into Mimiron's head for the next part. I had to take resurrection sickness because the game didn't give me a ghost gryphon to ride back up to my body.

Could someone confirm which looks are the hidden ones? Serpentbite is the only one that says hidden, but I'd thought that Titan's Reach (the bow) was one also? I'm finding it difficult to find this information.

Can anyone help, I just went through the whole thing and got the gun but when I tamed Hati apparently my pet quota was full and I didn't realize that I didn't have Hati with me until after I'd already gotten back!

Perhaps I wasn't paying attention well enough, but what is up with all the dialogue referencing and responding to "Bronzebeard"? Wildheart was the only dwarf with us the entire time, and he appeared to be answering all the dialogue pertaining to Bronzebeard. This some sort of oversight on Blizz's part?

As an anwser for a question i myself couldn't find, the colors of Hati are different each Artifact Appearance.
Apparently nobody thought it was informative to know which one is which color, but i do!
Namely:
Titanstrike (Normal Appearance):
Light Blue
Eaglewatch (Epic Appearance):
Black
Elekk's Thunder (Balance of Power):
To be determined
Boarshot Cannon (PvP):
Brown
Serpentbite (Mage Tower Challenge):
To be determined
Titan's Reach (Secret Skin):
Dark Blue
Sidenote: If you changed your artifact skin but Hati didn't change color, just unequip your artifact and equip it again.

I'm in Dalaran, trying to find the quests for the Hunter artifacts. I have the Windrunner artifact, but want to find the other two. Have they removed them now that BfA is live? I hope not. Some of enjoy playing the older content as well as the new stuff.

Is there any way (in CURRENT/BFA) to transmog a current weapon with the Hidden Appearance, Titan's Reach?
