In this guide, we will cover everything you need to know about gear in Remix: Mists of Pandaria. How to obtain gear and how to upgrade your gear.

Obtaining Gear in Remix: Mists of Pandaria
Gear works in a slightly different fashion in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. Gear can be obtained from several different avenues, including, but not limited to:
Looting all mobs, from common mobs to raid bosses;
Opening
永恒珍宝箱
earned from completing quests;
Opening treasure chests;
Flying through Bronze Orbs scattered across Pandaria;
Completing dungeons, scenarios, and raids;
Gear in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria has random secondary stats and drops with an item level dependent on your level. In addition, gear can be further upgraded using
青铜
. There are
36
upgrade levels in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria gear, ranging from a starting item level of 70, all the way to the max item level of 556 at level 70. As with Dragonflight upgrades, you will receive Bronze discounts on upgrading pieces of gear if you already have a higher ilvl piece of gear on that specific slot.
Fully upgrading Timerunning items will cost quite a bit of Bronze!
If you're particularly attached to a certain piece's appearance, you can upgrade it all the way from lv10 to the max ilvl of 556 - but be mindful that there are limitations to this:
You can upgrade pieces up to upgrade level 21/36 by reaching level 70, with more upgrade levels unlocked as you level up.
After reaching lv70, further upgrades require
all of your gear
to be that upgrade level before trying to further upgrade your gear Presumably, this is intended, to prevent people from dumping their bronze and powering one single piece of gear to its max upgrade before other pieces.
Keep the requirements in mind; you can't just funnel bronze into an over-leveled weapon!
Gear Rules in Remix: Mists of Pandaria
While a lot of gear in Remix is randomized, it all follows rules of creation. That is, every helm piece will always have the same general composition at a given item level, and so on. These rules are:
Helm - Armor + 1 Meta Gem Socket
Feet - Armor + Stamina + Random Secondary Stat + 1 Cogwheel Socket
Shoulders - Armor + Random Secondary Stat + 3 Tinker Sockets
Belt - Armor + Random Secondary Stat + 3 Tinker Sockets
Wrists - Armor + Random Secondary Stat + 3 Tinker Sockets
Hands - Armor + Random Secondary Stat + 3 Tinker Sockets
Chest - Armor + Stamina + Random Secondary Stat + 3 Prismatic Sockets
Legs - Armor + Stamina + Random Secondary Stat + 3 Prismatic Sockets
Neck - 3 Prismatic Sockets
Ring 1 - 3 Prismatic Sockets
Ring 2- 3 Prismatic Sockets
Trinket 1 - 3 Prismatic Sockets
Trinket 2 - 3 Prismatic Sockets
Weapons - Every Primary Stat
Note that at low item levels, pieces will have fewer stats and sockets. However, upgrading a piece beyond a certain threshold will automatically add the missing stats or sockets to the item. So, if you're very attached to the first belt you obtain in Remix, you can upgrade it from item level 13 all the way to 556 without missing out on any power.
Most pieces will have all their stats and sockets when above item level 120. Rare and Epic pieces of gear will have additional stats,

Obtaining Jewelry and Trinkets
As players play through WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, they may notice they are not earning any jewelry or trinkets from the usual means of obtaining gear. This is because these pieces are locked behind certain achievements that require some dedication to complete. These gear pieces are very strong, as they allow you more sockets to add gems to. You can see how to obtain each piece of gear below:
Note that these achievements are
not account-wide
, so subsequent characters will have to earn them again.
Trinkets
时空奔行者的神像

时空奔行者

Item Level Upgrades in Remix: Mists of Pandaria
Every piece of gear can be upgraded to the max item level in Remix... as long as you can pay for it with Bronze!
You will usually want to get pieces to drop to save up on Bronze early on and only use Bronze to catch up on slots that you're lagging behind. Similar to Flightstones, if you have another character with a higher item level piece on a given slot, every other character in your account gets a 50% Bronze discount when upgrading.

: Beyond Upgrade 22/36, you are required to upgrade every other piece of gear to the previous step before you can upgrade it further. For instance, to upgrade your weapon to ilvl 500 (32/36), you must have an ilvl 486 (31/36) piece on every other gear slot
There's also a second upgrade track, that goes only has 34 steps:

Item Upgrade Costs
Upgrades are fairly cheap before reaching item level 346 on items, costing at most a couple hundred bronze. Beyond that, the costs spike high per slot. Gear in the world can only drop up to item level 346; above that, upgrading is the only way to obtain gear.
The upgrade cost is the same by slot for each upgrade above 346, resulting in each slot requiring 15 upgrades to reach 556.

* 9000 is the cost for 2h weapons. For dual-wielders or main-hand+off-hand combos, this cost is spread as 0

for each slot.
With these costs, assuming you obtain every piece at 346 without upgrading any, it will cost you 0
青铜
to reach 556 in every upgradable slot.

时空奔行者的指环

永恒潜能披风
also isn't upgradable and caps out at item level 346.
Upgrade Discounts
Similar to Dragonflight, once you upgrade a slot to a given item level, every other subsequent upgrade to that item level will have a discount. In Remix, the
青铜
discount is 95%, meaning obtaining and upgrading a new weapon will cost 450 per step instead of 0
青铜
.
These discounts aren't account-wide, so if you plan on gearing alts, you will need to pay the full hefty upgrade prices all over again.
Scrapping Items in Remix: Mists of Pandaria
While playing with your timerunner you'll run across many different items. While you can upgrade any item you want to the max level, there will be plenty of them you won't use. For those, you can use the new ability you gain during Remix,
拆解之沙
. This ability will summon an Unraveling Sands that you can interact with to Scrap items for Bronze, a process similar to the one used in BFA with gear to get raw materials, if you played that expansion.

thanks for this article. Regarding the amount of bronze required to upgrade a single piece to max level, it sounds crazy, almost 150K bronze, whereas it's intended to use this event to collect transmog/mounts etc, and with 150k you can collect 5 of the rarest items of the game, it sounds totally crazy/wtf

Things missing from this guide include the fact that green gear does not have any primary stats (int/agi/str) while blue gear does. I have only gotten one piece of epic gear (ironically from a world drop) and it doesn't seem to be any different to the equivalently leveled blue piece of gear so I have no idea if there is any point in going for epic gear or if there is even a consistent source of it. LFR only seems to drop green gear even at level 70. Heroic dungeons and scenarios drop blue gear. Haven't done any normal/heroic/mythic raids yet so I cannot comment on them.
Also, for what it is worth, I upgraded my (epic @346 ilvl) hand slot 1 upgrade level to 360 which cost me 9,000 bronze. I upgraded a second blue piece in the same slot to compare the stats and it only cost me 179 bronze. This would indicate that unless you find a source of gear that is higher than 346 ilvl then you are fine to just upgrade any old gear and just pay the cheap price if you get a better piece that you want to upgrade.

I truly wish upgrading gear was not as expensive --- or that the amount of bronze we got from < All > sources was upped massively.... :(

A small update for gear rules since only green was covered.
Blue gear grants you your primary state (Str/Agi/Int), then purple grants you an additional secondary state (Haste/Vers/Crit/Mastery), at least for armour. Have yet to see a purple weapon.
Also, for upgrading gear, then replacing it with a lower ilvl one, the discounts anywhere from 80-90% off the original value.

From what I saw online (main source was Reddit), this is the stats that you can get for each item rarity:
Uncommon (green) Armor gear
:
Stamina
&
one Secondary stat
(chosen randomly between
Critical Strike
,
Haste
,
Mastery
,
Versatility
,
Speed
,
Leech
or
Avoidance
)
Rare (blue) Armor gear
:
one Primary stat
(
Strength
,
Agility
or
Intellect
),
Stamina
&
one Secondary stat
Epic (purple) Armor gear
:
one Primary stat
,
Stamina
&
two Secondary stats
(one secondary stat can also be rolled twice when you get it, in this case you’ll only have one secondary stat, but with a higher value)
Uncommon (green) Weapon
:
one Primary stat
Rare (blue) Weapon
:
one Primary stat
&
Stamina
Epic (purple) Weapon
:
one Primary stat
,
Stamina
&
one Secondary stat
Except for
weapons
, the higher the ilvl of the gear is, the higher amount of gems slots will be available on it (from 0 to 3 slots at ilvl 346).

As of current, many sources of mastery give double the stat value of any other secondary, namely getting mastery proc on armor, and the gems
ie, two sets of hands at the same ilvl, one has haste and the other mastery. If the haste give 70 haste, the mastery pair will give 140.
Same applies to gems, with equivalent upgrade level gems, mastery gems just give twice as much as the others. Swap some gems around and check it out for yourself
No idea how we’ve gone this far without anyone talking about it, it insanely skews mastery as bis when it doubles like this

The 1-36 level upgrade table is for Helm, Chest, Legs, Weapons and Off-Hand items.
The 1-34 level upgrade table is for Shoulders, Wrists, Gloves, Belt and Boots.
The cloak auto-upgrades, but when you hit a new Thread Achivement on alts you have to put it in your bag and then put it on again to get the bonus threads.
If you're particularly attached to a certain piece's appearance, you can upgrade it all the way from lv10 to the max ilvl of 556
Don't bother with that, Transmog is free. So you only need to spend bronze to upgrade an item if you prefer the stats.

Trinkets, Rings, and Neck items cannot be upgraded as far as we know so far...
It was not addressed in this guide as far as I saw.
If anyone finds information on how to upgrade these items please let us know.

Hi,
Just to tell you that there is a mistake in the "OBTAINING JEWELRY AND TRINKETS" part.
Trinkets, rings and neck can be bought again in the bazaar at the gem sellor for 10 bronze with a reroll and there is no lvl required.
Hopefully it helps

Just fyi this line "Similar to Flightstones, if you have another character with a higher item level piece on a given slot, every other character in your account gets a 50% Bronze discount when upgrading" is not true, you get no discount on alts.

Great guide, but you forgot to mention what the two different upgrade tracks are for. Is one for green gear and the other for blue gear? Is one for armor and the other for weapons? How so I know which track I should be looking at for my armor beyond level 22? Or, for any level for that matter. I know I can just go to Momentus (Horde in Chamber of Masters, might be someone else other places) and look each time I want to upgrade. But I like to plan ahead, the amount of bronze you need are different between the two tracks. For instance, for track 22/34 the cost of upgrading a piece of gear is 13,500 bronze. For track 22/36 the cost of upgrading a piece of gear is 10,660 bronze. When you consider you need to upgrade all nine slots before you can upgrade to the next level that's a significant difference. I believe the difference between the two levels for all nine slots is 25,560 bronze.
Edit: Oh, I think I see. It's for the different level you start with. Track 1/34 starts at item level 34, while track 1/36 starts at item level 13. My next question though is, how do I know what track my item level 346 Yaungolian Greathelm follows? Without going to Momentus, I mean. Because he will show me when I try to upgrade it, it's current level is 19/34 346 (31-556).
Edit: OMG, and even more confusing, apparently the different slots have different costs for upgrading. As I mentioned my item level 346 Yaungolian Greathelm is level 19/34. My item level 346 Swarmbreaker's Chestguard is level 21/36. Further complicating things, my item level 346 Wallwatcher's Longaxe is level 21/36. The cost to upgrade the chestguard from 21/36 to 22/36 is 4,500 bronze. The cost to upgrade the longaxe from 21/36 to 22/36 is 9,000 bronze. Is there ANY continuity in this system? We just close our eyes, hit upgrade and hope for the best?
Yaungolian Greathelm (a blue item) level 19/34 cost 4,500 bronze to upgrade to level 20/34. Yaungolian Greatbelt (a blue item) level 19/34 cost 3,375 bronze to upgrade to level 20/34.
I actually don't blame you for not expounding on that level system further than you did. Yes, it has two level tracks, and they're complicated beyond words.
Blizzard, what is so wrong about one price for each respective level? 19/34 to 20/34 4,500 regardless of which slot it goes in. The price is outrageous to begin with. Especially considering you have to upgrade every slot to 20/34 (or 20/36) before upgrading any piece to 21/34.
* Rant over * (The first part wasn't a rant, just simply an honest question. Second edit was the rant.)

I've seen players with Purple items on (not legendary but I don't remember what purple represents), and not just one or two but four items besides the rings, trinkets and necklace. One guy had his helm, shoulders, wrist, and feet with purple gear along with the rings, trinkets and necklace. Where do these purple items drop from? I've run LFR, normal and heroic dungeons and scenarios. I know it's random, I've gotten four blue items two of which didn't drop until I hit 70 (my Lerah's Maul Mace and Yaungolian Vambraces) with my Ret Pally. (five if you count the sword and shield I have for it's protection spec. I had those since level 17.) But, all this time (lol all this time, what ten days?) I've never seen a purple item drop. Do I need to run normal or heroic raids for those to drop?
