Gear is one of the most important elements in WoW to strengthen your Elemental Shaman, providing massive amounts of stats as well as armor, procs, and set bonuses.
In this guide, we will explain how to obtain the best gear for your Elemental Shaman in and how to check if a piece is BiS, an upgrade or just bad. This guide will help you select the best pieces of gear from Dungeons and Raids in Dragonflight, whether they be weapons, trinkets, or armor.

Recommended Gear for Elemental Shaman in Dragonflight
What is the BiS Elemental Shaman gear?
With many different sources of gearing and loot scarcity in Dragonflight, targeting your absolute Best in Slot gear isn't entirely realistic; instead, we've created a Best in Slot list from the ideal Elemental Shaman drops found in Dragonflight from Mythic+ Dungeons and Aberrus to help you decide what to prioritize.
While raid drops are generally the most reliable way of getting high item level gear, many other items can be just as good, if not better, so you should reference the stat priorities listed on the
stats page
and our Raidbots guide to help determine your own BiS gear based on what is available to you.
When gearing up your new character, you want to generally prioritize getting more
Intellect
by increasing your item level on your gear.
Elemental Shaman can utilize all secondary stats well, so taking significant losses in Intellect to optimize your secondary stats is usually not recommended.
While choosing between gear pieces with an equal item level, you want to follow the stat priority of
Crit>Haste>Vers>Mastery
.
Versatility will rise in value the more challenging the raid fight or, the higher your key level gets. The defensive benefits are worth sacrificing some amount of damage for.
It is always recommended to use
Raidbots
to sim your own character and compare gear upgrades, since every character is different.
Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Best in Slot Gear for Elemental Shaman
While raid items are more deterministically obtainable than Mythic+ ones, there usually is heavy competition for them. Ensure you always aim for item-level upgrades, as those will usually be worth it even if you're obtaining items with poor itemization. Elemental Shamans will focus on items with Haste and Crit for raids.
With the latest set of trinket balancing, Blizzard has hit a spot where multiple trinkets perform similarly and all bring their unique advantages and disadvantages.
I will still be listing 3 trinkets given that ] is much stronger if you have multiple allies running different stats on it and you can get multiple types of procs.
Under optimal circumstances, this trinket outperforms all other available trinkets, but it is questionable how relevant that is in the first few weeks of the patch and especially in Mythic+.
The second strongest trinket is ] and as a third slot, I rank ] given that it is much more versatile and forgiving than a ].
"Old" items:
Be aware of a few items from the last tier that are still "Best in Slot" or close to it. A Mythic Version

is better than any ring in Aberrus and should be worn throughout the tier if you have access to it. The same applies to

, which will not be replaced before getting your Aberrus BiS trinkets on Mythic difficulty, assuming you still have healers and tanks in your raid who run this trinket too.

In season 2, the most desirable stats for Mythic+ are Crit and Haste.

Best Elemental Shaman Trinkets in Dragonflight
With the last set of tuning done, trinkets in Aberrus have been nerfed significantly. What this means specifically is that if you already have high-level trinkets from the previous raid, do not feel stressed to replace those quickly. In general, Mythic BiS trinkets from Vault of the Incarnates will only be beaten by Mythic BiS trinkets from Aberrus.
The only trinkets worth the effort getting are passive stat trinkets, which match well with our consistent damage output and can help us balance our stats slightly better.

This trinket allows you to ally yourself with a Dragonflight, giving you secondary stats. If your allies are running this trinket as well but chose a different flight, you can get their chosen stat as a proc. Your best choice is usually Emerald (i.e. Critical Strike) for both Raiding and Mythic+. (*If no one else uses this trinket, it is A tier)

The only other relevant raid trinket. Solid Single Target damage and a nice passive stat proc. The self-damage isn't high enough to be scary in most cases.

Good trinket specifically for mythic+. Getting Crit is very good for us, and the damage component is good too. The cooldown doesn't align perfectly with our abilities, but that can be worked around by slightly delaying it.

A good trinket but slightly underpowered considering the "Very Rare" tag on it. While the Crit is pretty good, and the added leech provides some extra defensive benefits, it is still too underpowered.

The recent nerfs to all raid trinkets leave the decision pretty uncertain here. Upgrading trinkets still makes the most sense here in my opinion.

will be your best item later in the tier, but upgrading while no one else is wearing it might not be optimal in the short term. Tier items are a good alternative choice. Similarly to the trinket, you will always want to wear these, so getting them on a high item level is highly preferred. As a last choice, I recommend upgrading

(or any other raid weapon for that matter),

you decide not to craft a weapon. Weapons are still the slot with the highest stat budget, especially if they are two-handers, so you get the most value per currency here.

Dragonflight adds many new options for crafted gear, allowing players to craft even Mythic-equivalent gear! You'll generally want to supplement gear from Raids and Mythic+ with crafted pieces. Note that crafting is limited by

Best Gear to Spend Spark of Shadowflame for Elemental Shamans
Once you obtain
暗影烈焰火花
, you should aim to craft the following items at the highest item level possible. Note that you may use the recrafting system to increase its item level later if you so desire. After crafting your best pieces, you can use sparks to improve slots that you have the lowest item level pieces, aiming to increase your average item level.
The first item you should be crafting is a new weapon. The weapon slot gives you the most main stat and can be an easy upgrade to start into the tier with. In terms of embellishments to put on the weapon,
炼金风味袋
is the only sensible choice here. Next, I would craft the Horizon Strider Set. Advocating for people to make it early is problematic, though. Getting your new tier set as soon as possible should still be a priority, and the crafted set and tier set will compete for either the should or glove slot. If you think you can get your "correct" tier pieces within the 5 weeks required to craft all 3 of the listed items, I believe this is the correct choice.
If you instead decide to craft 2 items with the Shadowflame embellishments for pure Single Target, the optimal choices are Bracers and Head.

Best Embellishments for Elemental Shamans
Crafting
items with Embellishments
gives them special properties and effects in addition to regular stats. However, you may only wear 2 pieces of gear with Embellishments at a time. With that in mind, the best Embellishments are:
Elemental Shaman will need to switch between different Embellishes depending on the type of content they are doing.
The "Horizon Strider" set is an excellent all-purpose choice offering high value in Single Target and AoE. It counts as 2 Embellishes, so it can't be combined with further embellishes.

is a better choice for Single Target and stacks with itself, so you can use it twice on your gear if you want to focus entirely on your Single Target niche.

is still a solid backup choice but lacks a second embellish to run it with. The best option here would be to combine it with the previously mentioned

to have a compromise between Single Target and AoE. Remember that in 10.1, the effect duration depends on the number of Elemental Gems you are using.
元素套索
becomes a reasonable consideration if you have around 5 Elemental Gems in your gear.
炼金风味袋
is a freebie in all situations. While it doesn't give you a direct DPS benefit, it also doesn't count towards the 2 embellish maximum.

For Elemental Shamans, Primordial Stones and the

It is equivalent to an item level 418 ring, which is easily obtained.

Looks like there might be some contradictory information;
Satchel of Misbegotten Minions
is the strongest of the steady single-target proc trinkets from dungeons this time around.
But in the sim charts,
Inscrutable Quantum Device
gets a higher dps than
Satchel of Misbegotten Minions
I'm not sure which is better, could you explain the rational for either
