Hey my name is ForeverGuy or just Guy, I'm the current guide writer for Outlaw Rogue. I raid mythic on Mal'Ganis but a lot of my time is spent in the Rogue Discord helping people out with their rotation, and general theory crafting and just talking with regulars. A big trap a lot of people fall into with this spec is trying to hold cooldowns and sync them together for increased effectiveness. While for most specs this is the smart thing to do to a certain extent, due to the way that the spec is primarily designed around 无休锋刃, it is almost never correct to hold any cooldown in any situation other than holding DPS. Our cooldowns are low impact but high uptime, even holding them for 嗜血 is generally a bad idea.

This spec has an insane amount of utility and mobility, make sure to squeeze in uses of 凿击 and 肾击 in dungeons, and 抓钩 to maximize uptime on encounters.

死亡标记 generates you 5 combo points and marks the target for death. Whenever that target dies the cooldown of 死亡标记 is then instantly reset. Using a mouseover macro to apply this to targets that are dying the fastest will allow you to get a lot of extra damage over other people.

命运骨骰 has a large outcome of buffs which include; 强势连击, 埋藏的宝藏, 大乱斗, 残忍精准, 骷髅黑帆, and 精准定位. The buff you want to keep this tier are going to be 骷髅黑帆 as single buffs or any combination of 2 or more buffs. Any of the other 5 buffs as a single means it's worth recasting 命运骨骰 as soon as you are able to.

Offensive Cooldown Usage for Outlaw Rogues in Shadowlands

冲动: Increases our max energy by 50, greatly increases attack speed, energy regeneration rate, and lowers the GCD to 0.8 seconds for most abilities. This should be used on cooldown if you're able to take advantage of the full duration.

恐惧之刃: A generator that causes all generators to generate maximum combo points, but every finisher will take a % of your current hp. While this sounds like a lot, Rogues have ways to circumvent this with passive effects like 休养疗伤, or 吸血药膏 are nice. In addition our best stat happens to be Versatility, and the damage that is taken from 恐惧之刃 goes through Versatility. The best way to use this is on cooldown and to make sure you are on 1 or 2 combo points when cast.

冷血: Causes your next generator to always critically strike. This is a pretty low impact effect and just using it on cooldown is your best bet. It's not even good to hold it for a 绿皮船长的柳枝 boosted 手枪射击

时运继延: A massive cooldown spell that causes you to add 30 seconds to all active 命运骨骰 buffs. The best use for this talent is to use it when you have 3 or more of any 命运骨骰 buffs, AND at least 1 of them has 1 second remaining. A 7 minute cooldown sounds terrible but it is on 无休锋刃 so it's a lot shorter than you might think, especially with how strong this effect is with 潜伏胜机 and 暗影之舞.

暗影之舞: Is one of the few cooldowns the spec has that is exempt from 无休锋刃. Whenever you go into a 暗影之舞 window you want to make sure you are going into it with at least 80 energy even if it means waiting a few seconds without casting anything beforehand. While it's active 伏击 becomes your highest priority builder, nothing else changes other than this though.

Nice guide, are there any UI add ons that you would recommend? With needing to make sure the correct Roll the Bones is up, I would rather have them display near my character rather than the top right.

Sorry for the dumb question, the true is I'm new to the game.

About the pull: If I use Marked for Death I'm o longer able to go into Stealth. Am I missing something?

Detection's greatest use will forever be getting out of the slowing debuff and into the fast buff during Visions while mounted :D

Thank you for writing the guide. For people just learning the class, the rotations section might benefit from the checkbox feature that allows you select which talents you've chosen and which Covenant you've selected. I don't really remember the name of all my talents. By providing the checkboxes, I can fill that out at the beginning and then read all the rotation lines knowing they all apply to me. As it is, I go through the rotation trying to remember if I have that particular ability instead of focusing on the priority/order of abilities I know I have.

When I played rogue in BFA (uldir era only), the general idea with combo points and finishers was to use them if you were at 4 combo points because SS could overcap you. Is that no longer the case? (this assumes no deeper stratagem and broadside) I would imagine we'd at least want to do that when SkullnBones is active since it's a 65% chance to give 2 combo points?

Looks like youre missing when to use Killing Spree in the rotation! Any advice on this?

Opener says to Adrenaline Rush after going stealth, but the ability removes stealth. Is this just out of order?
