Just wondering did the author read Twins of the Sun Priestess wrong. I think they think, it allows you to only put it on another player. It does more than that, if cast on another player, it also casts on yourself... While still likely not to move it up, that's twice as much power as the author thinks

If Talbards is worse than call of the void in every scenario why would i craft that as a second legendary?
I haven't seen any simulations on that matter but when if looked through the logs of the latest raid testing i found a few shadowpriests who used shadowflameprism which boosted their mindbender all the way to rank 1 in their dmg while half of that wass from the legendary and i haven't seen any nerfs to it after that. That being said thoose raidtests were all rather short and if i remember correctly it was before the buff to call of the void (which didn't seem to bring as much direct dps to the table at that time) and it wasn't exactly a lot of data to look through.
i am really curios on what basis exactly is it claimed that call of the void is bis as i myself can't seem to find reliable sources yet.
On another note i wouldn't be so quick to write off Norgannon's Sagacity as just a training wheels legendary whenever heavy movement is required good positioning and planning aren't always enough and you will loose dps to moving it is however questionable if the dps gain in thoose situations outweights the dps gain from any of the dps legendarys.
But if there really is a clear winner in matter of dps in any situation as i understood it from above's guide it seems more viable to craft either Norgannon's or Twins as a second legendary

Seems like you want the highest ilvl in the slot with the most stats like chest or shoulders.

outdated advice please do not follow. Error in sims lead to wrong lego please research before following this advice.
go with #3 on Lego list and stat priority has changed for missives

So the new stat priority for shadow priests is:

Int > Haste = Mastery > Crit > Vers

Apparently SimC was calculating the mindblast damage incorrectly and they fixed it yesterday.

Update for 9.1, the below information may not be 100% accurate anymore! It was for 9.0, and Shadow Priest legendaries have gotten a chunk of rebalancing/changes. Taldabar's Stratagem got tweaked/nerfed and is no longer penultimate, and the Shadowflame Prism became a LOT stronger since they buffed it and fixed the conduit to increase your void fiend's attack speed (before it would attack so fast, it would 'skip' attacking on occasion).

I can't test all of the shadow priest legendaries because of torghast exhaustion, however I can say that Shadowflame Prism is a lot of fun to use, though it will change up the way you play shadow priest a bunch. Using Shadow Word: Death for non-executes and lining up a triple Mind Blast (MB once then enter void form to MB two more times) is a lot of fun. Night Fae cooldown reduction spell can get you into void form more often which helps line it up a bit better with the talent to turn the Shadow Fiend into a Mindbender on a 1 minute cooldown.

This is making Shadowflame Prism capable of strong burst and great cleave, something Shadow Priest had to put all eggs in one basket for originally with the optional talent Searing Nightmare. Another added bennefit is that free Mind Blast procs and Shadow Word: Death can both be used while moving, giving you more opportunities to reposition during your rotation when you Mindbender is down. Don't skip out on Mindbender because the Shadow Fiend's 3-minute cooldown is rancid awful with Shadowflame Prism equipped.

Taldabar's Gem is a difficult pick for cleave, since the Psychic Link talent is finnicky on top of the legendary no longer having extremely high thoroughput. It's early in 9.1, and things are subject to rapid change. Keep an eye out on patch notes every tuesday for sneaky nerfs, join your respective class discords for more accurate hands-on information, and good fortune to you on your hunts for powers gained!

Eternal call of the void is horrendous in my practice unless all you want is aoe. I can only see it being a good choice if you are channeling mind sear with searing nightmare talented, and only then, and should not be labeled a priority or "BiS".

The damage of the tendrils is negligible, but the worst offenders are the insanely low proc rate on mind flay, and the insanity gain from both the tentacle and mind sear itself can't be spent during an aoe pull unless you're using searing nightmare.

It's been a couple weeks since I tried picking up Eternal Call of the Void again, but I have gone entire dungeons without seeing the mind flay tentacle proc once, which is largely due to there being few opportunities to even cast mind flay for more than a couple seconds before using another GCD.

I don't enjoy using Searing Nightmare, because I much prefer multi-dotting for AoE and having stronger 1/2/3 target cleave to focus down priority targets. I can see this legendary being more valuable in very high M+ dungeons attempting to time 15+ and up, as spending a ton of GCD's multi-dotting a ton of mobs takes an excessive amount of time, and trash packs are absolutely lethal in most dungeons when trying to time the key making extremely strong aoe the fastest way to clear dungeons.

Eternal Call of the Void is so painfully exclusive to large AoE and requiring the Searing Nightmare talent, that it becomes a detriment in single target situations (due to requiring searing nightmare, causing you to miss out on Misery or Twist of Fate).

Talbadar's Stratagem is actually fairly great at single target and focusing down specific monsters, and will always be useful unless you are not focusing down a target, or not fighting a boss. Also casting mind blast and devouring plague spawns shadow apparitions on targets affected by vampyric embrace anyways, meaning you will have cleave even without aoe-specific talents. And I guess if it matters, it's a strong option for nuking in PvP.

Twins of the Suns Priestess I wish I could try out, but I am severely limited in soul ash when I have two other specs I play, both of which don't need haste all too much.

Is Psychic Link viable, now that Talbadar's Stratagem has been changed ? Or is the missing st value still making it too weak of a choice ?

Based off personal experience I was hesitant to switch from venthyr to necrolords. I like the venthyr aesthetic but after playing them for 5 months I wanted a change. If you’re thinking of doing it, do it. My sustained dps went from 5.5 > 7k just because of the better soul bind options bone smith has. As for pallid command, insane damage. It is on par with devouring plague damage (about 5% less) and is MUCH less awkward to play than shadow flame prism. I know these guides are all about sims, but I am super glad I crafted a 262 of pallid command instead of prism. Sims don’t really take into account how YOU play, and shadow prism forces awkward void forms.

Are the stats for the Waist of Unity and the Memory of Unity (on an other piece), the same? Like, is it better to craft the covenant legendary on a chest to have more stats?
