Frost Death Knight Raid Talent Build
There are essentially three unique builds that a Frost Death Knight can run in raid, all with different positives and negatives. We have
which can do very well as long as you can stay on the target for a long time. Since the average Breath duration is 60+ second (which can go even higher with
cheese), you cannot have any disruptive mechanics that cut your Breath short. Furthermore, Breath does really well in sustained cleave.
Furthermore, we have two different
builds. The 2H version is a bursty 30-40 second cooldown window that does well on really short cleave as well as bosses where you're running around a lot. Interestingly, it has a viable build option which completely avoids picking up
. I haven't listed it here since the build does badly whenever you have any adds, but it's still interesting. The DW version picks up
and has a very consistent damage throughput. It does also have an absolute ton of procs and is difficult to play optimally.
Generally, the choice depends on the specific encounter you're up against, as well as your personal preference. Any of the three builds will be perfectly viable but you will also always have one that wins out depending on situation.
Frost Death Knight Mythic+ Talent Build
as the most powerful option. Having short, powerful 3-target cleave with
is simply too powerful!
Frost Death Knight Breath Mythic+ Build
In rare situations where you can maintain incredibly high uptime on
, it can be better in Mythic+. This would be high M+ (22+) with very coordinated chain-pulling tanks.

Since legendary effects are still active till leveling up a bit, can we combine the legendary "Cold heart" with its talent counterpart and hit it like a truck, like double its damage? :O
what does this mean when your saying " "
What is it that makes blood elves top choice for race on horde side? They have the same crit racial as worgen, whom is much lower.
Looking forward to playing as a 2h frost dk again. And I get to mog the awesome Shadowmourne too :D
... Guide - Shadowlands 9.0.2
".... It synergises heavily with Icy Citadel (Azerite Power) and Frostwhelp's Indignation (Azerite Power)."
This makes me wonder what else in this guide was overlooked.
Is your Obliteration Raids (2H & DW) talent build image correct? It shows Breath of Sindragosa as the default talent selection but the Tier 7 (Level 50) comment is "No choice here since the build is all about Obliteration" - if the build is all about Obliteration then why isn't Obliteration the talent selected? BoS shows as the recommended talent in all builds except for leveling.
Oh Blizzard, still not wanting to remove Might of the Frozen Wastes talent lol.
The Frost Mythic loadout code wipes my action bars of spells.
I guess my question is how do you think DW oblit will be good come DF? Does DW vastly underperform if not running breath?
Interesting that you don't run obliteration with 2h. Is there a reason?
The green/yellow colors that wowhead chose for their key talent sections have a very similar light level and are almost impossible to tell apart for colorblind people, on the off chance someone from wowhead is reading this. Would just need to choose a darker green for example to fix
Hey! Uhhhh.... The header here says Frost DK, but all the links in the guide itself are for Unholy.
Frostwhelp's Aid is nifty, but it tends to pull extra mobs while in the open world...likely would pull extra mobs in dungeon if not precisely positioned to aim it in the direction you came from. Else if it travels forward, you're definitely going to pick up unintentional mobs. The added mastery is the only reason to use this talent, but it comes with a disclaimer. Use at your own risk. It is the DK "Barrage" and while FW Fury does the same thing, but on a grander scale...it can be controlled. This talent triggers with PoF use, during which you may not want a little whelp to fly across the battlefield shooting at everything in a line in front of you for 40 yards.
I want you to explain to me about two talents, Obliteration: when I have critical attacks and haste a lot, do I need to take this talent again? When these two stats are high, the time to use this talent becomes a little useless. I have a question for you, Inexorable Assault: Does this talent charge faster with increased haste?
thanks for including a 2H Obl build for those that want to play off meta!
